Amazing deals biggest selection of utilizable cutting edge art supplies Ive experienced in all of the United States, hands down my favorite art store, friendly staff extremely helpful, over 20 years now, when Im out of town or up in the bay etc I feel like missing out when I have to get art supplies from other places

It was a great experience and this was my first time in this art store and the level of care I was given from the moment I walked into the store was excellent. I am a novice art supply buyer (at best) and no question I had was treated rudely or disregarded. The staff did the best job they could helping me find exactly what I needed but without gouging me because I didnt know any better. I had a great time and will definitely be back to get more supplies very soon.

Blue Rooster Supplies is an art store focused on canvases, brushes, paints, paper and illustration tools. They operated in 2003 and has been managed by the same owner since its inception. It is located at Hollywood blvd and Vermont ave on Easy Hollywood neighborhood. This art store is well organized and neat. They have a vast art related materials from pencils to fine paint brushes to sketch books etc. I came here to grab silk screen related materials. Prices were fair. Street metered parking only. Staff was competent, amiable and professional. Overall, I had a good experience and I highly recommend this art store.

Ive known Blue Rooster from since they were at their previous location a block away; for some reason, I feel that the selection of their supplies dwindled; maybe there hasnt been as much artists doing traditional media nowadays compared to ten years ago? In any case, the store is neat and tidy, and people were still coming in when I visited; they had plenty of sketchbooks up front, and painting and sculpting supplies at the back.

Great place to stop by when you need a quick thing. It is not a real browsing store but they have what you need. The focus is definitely more on painting than sculpture, not that it bothers me.

Very welcoming young woman at the front. told you about sales as you came in, very helpful. limited supplies but competitive prices.

I saw this place on a Brooks Kossover live stream and it the selection here is amazing. I was able to buy tons of Rublev paint that I previously could only get online. I cant recommend this place enough

I called and the amazing store associate Mariah was able to help me to pay over the phone and pick it up a few minutes after they closed. I love this little store. For a quick run of supplies or gifts. The staff is quirky, friendly and informative. Most art supply stores are run by artist, so its fun to talk shop with them about their knowledge of mediums. Prices are fair to a little over priced but no more than the bigger stores or Amazon.

I went to buy art supplies and I was the only Latino buying art supplies at the time and 2 employees came only to me to ask me if I needed any help. I went with my daughter I felt harassed because they were following me around and constantly asking me if I needed help. This is Not a family oriented art supply store. I will never bring my daughter again. I felt Targeted Only because Im Latino American. Family Folks dont come here to buy any Art Supplies they are RACIST against LATINOS. 😠

Blue rooster art supplies has been the go to place where I get my art supplies and my pens. It is across the street from Fleas’ Silver Lake Conservatory of Music and a block east of Vermont Ave on Hollywood Blvd.I love their pen selection and also the water color pigments.They also ship and their prices are pretty competitive although I don’t think they offer a student discount like blick.Blue Rooster however offers silk screen and portrait classes on weekends, check their site for updated information or call the store for more details.There is metered parking.

Nice selection of art materials. On of the closes art stores in Hollywood, employees are all helpful and knowledgeable in their respective mediums.Speaking of which their is a unique selection of paintings mediums that you might not find in other places.On side note if your looking for a specific item that might be in high demand call ahead to see if they have it in stock.

This is an excellent art supply store. Shop local! Buy things here!The staff were all excellent, knowledgable, and friendly. I asked if there was a photocopier, and while they did not have one they recommended a separate copy shop not too far away.Generally speaking, art supplies are expensive, but this place seemed reasonable. One of these days Ill go back to buy some oil paints since Ive always wanted to try my hand at Bob Ross style oil painting.

Always support small business! Also cheap paints than Blick and theyre almost always having a canvas sale!

They have a huge array of different inks, brushes, paints, markers, and paper. Whether youre an illustrator, painter, or even just draw for fun, this place has what youre looking for.

Although a sign of further gentrification of this side of town we did need a decent large art supply store. Unfortunately all the artist moved away but this place saves my ass whenever I need Montana paints art supplies canvases you name it. For an art supply store this place is about three times the size of your typical store. Theres also a cool patio and gallery where they host local artist artwork. Inquire on their website for events. I believe the area is also for rent for events?

Having known the owner of the blue rooster for years, and he believes in me enough to sponsor me and sell some of my horrible canvases (not my medium thats why) at the store. The blue rooster has everything you need everything you want and the folks who work there are always willing to help its a great art store and the only one I know of that I will spend any time or money within its walls.

I love this store. I miss living in LA because I could walk here from my apartment and get excited to make something as soon as I walked through the door. Everyone Ive ever talked to, working at the store, has been friendly and approachable. Now that I live far away, I call to order from them and they are so helpful and patient. One of my favorite spots in Hollywood.Oh yeah, and they have classes!

I love this little shop. Their staff is very helpful and friendly. They have colors I dont find in other stores, I found some fun metallic oils that have served me well.

The staff at this store actually care about their customers. Even the customers care about the customers at this store. I had a guy go out of his way to help me find the perfect brush.I had a long list of supplies i needed to get my 8 year old for his art classes and they had most everything on my list. What they didnt have they were able to find suitable substitutes for.They didnt have a few Prismacolor pencil colors either, but the cashier quickly made a special order for me and said hed call in a couple of days when they came in. Love this place.

This store has alot of amazing art supplies

Went in just to check it out. Wasnt even in there for 5 min til I started feeling uncomfortable due to a young man following me around and staring at me. I grabbed a few things to see how he would react and immediately he moved closer to me. I understand you have thieves but not every person of color steals but what else do you expect from white people? Cheaper prices? Probably not. Not coming back thats for sure.

Love their life drawing events. Parking is very hard but thus art store is a little gem in hollywood. Many cool events happening all the time.

Amazing selection of art supplies--their new location is much more spacious and offers more variety of pen/marker brands. I came in looking for materials for my illustration practices and I left satisfied. Found Copic markers for an excellent price; the cashier was friendly and sweet and he helped me pick out the perfect colors for coloring portraits. Definitely revisiting this place soon.

This is a groovy little shop just chock full of supplies. For the traveling artist, it is just a delight to find this handy place in a real neighborhood in this big city. I understand they also custom make and strech canvases for artists and hold classes in the back.

It is definitely bigger on the inside. I am currently learning brush pen calligraphy, so I was extremely excited to see a great selection of ecoline brush pens.Definitely will return.
