My recent experience at Melose Mac was up and down. I have a Medical Mask Exemption due to disabilities and I wear a lanyard that’s red which states medical exemption, legal notice and the American with Disabilities Act Law. I went in to pick up my laptop. I checked in. Sat down. Waited. The Caucasian woman at the front said, “Mam you need to wear a mask.” I showed her my card and she would not even look at it and told me to go outside. I said I have a Medical exemption (all the others patrons and herself were covered) and I tried to tell her my rights but she ordered me outside. I was waiting and waiting. It’s about 92 degrees out. My anxiety is building. I see the woman who should of been helped after me be helped; I did arrive before her and she was helped right away. I went inside and said, “Mam, may I please be helped before her since I was here befofe her? It’s very hot out here.” She said I am going to get a manager. Why do they need a manager? I just need my Laptop. I did call prior to heading to the store to make sure my laptop was ready and the woman on the telephone said yes just come on by and pick it up. So again, why did she need to get a manager? She was so rude. It was awful. The manager was at the service counter for a few mintires when she finally came and said I had a balance to pay of $99. I expressed kindly that making me wait outside was against the American with Disabilities Act and I simply wanted to come inside and pay the balance. The manager was very nice. She had me get out of the heat and pay the balance inside. She wished me a blessed day. She was really sweet. Thank you for making a negative experience turn into a positive one.

I bought a $1600 computer here and it broke the next day after i set it down gently on the computer, half the display just started glitching.i went back the next day with the warranty i had purchased the day before and they told me i was lucky i had the warranty because it would “only cost $100 with it.”TLDR - sold me a computer that broke in one day then charged me to fix it even with the warranty

Avoid this place like the plague! I brought my Mac in to have the dead battery replaced. When I dropped it off, I asked the repair associate how much the total cost I was going to pay was and she wrote an amount down on my work order. When I went to pick the computer up I was informed that I owed more than that amount, because that didnt include sales tax. Why on earth when I asked for the total I was paying would you not also include the tax? Then the staff was extremely contentious with me about it... until my computer wouldnt turn on and they realized they had accidentally damaged my hard drive during the repair and suddenly were not going to charge me the extra tax. I had to leave my computer for another week to get the hard drive repaired and when I went to pick it up, I realized that they had charged my card the entire originally quoted cost, plus the tax they told me they werent charging me. This is even though they had ALREADY charged me half of the cost previous. It then took 3 days to get them to refund the money. THEN weeks later they emailed me telling me that I owed them more money, despite the fact that I was fully paid up. While speaking to them, I informed them that my webcam was not working since I picked the laptop up and I wanted them to fix it. They told me I could bring it in for a $75 diagnostic fee and it would take 2-3 days to look at the laptop. I declined. I will not be giving these thieves another cent of my money. Now Im stuck with a laptop with a broken webcam. On top of it all, they didnt properly screw all of the screws back in on the bottom of it after repairing it, so it now scratches my table constantly. DO NOT BRING YOUR COMPUTER HERE FOR REPAIRS!!!

Great store, IF your just buying something. During the pandemic most apple stores are closed, but this store was open, so I started going there to buy any kind of apple products because they all were safe and wore masks. Then I gave them my iPhone for them to replace the battery, the next day they call and say they broke the screen. Im frustrated, but mistakes happen and they said they would pay for a screen replacement, great. Then, they skirt my phone calls for the next week, they say they cant do it because of the storm in Texas, but they are a store in LA. Anyway, they finally replace the screen and I get my phone back, and as soon as I open it, I realize they wiped my entire phone. Tried to call and they were no help. Dont get anything repaired here, just send it in to Apple and wait the extra few days.

Trash front desk customer service. Kid with the long hair up front hates his life. He’s rude to customers and doesn’t know what he’s doing in regards to answering question about repairs. This is a business, I don’t really care if your having a bad day or week. All I care about is what I’m paying for.I can’t speak on the repair service since we never used them.

I never do this but the service was so bad, I just had to. I went there asking for a replacement for the airpods case I lost and i ask if the wireless case they have works and they say I need to wait to see an agent I wait for almost 35 min for a person to help me. They cant do anything for me because I dont have my receipt for something I got almost 2 years and takes about 15 min for them to tell me this. Then the woman who is helping tells me tells me I can just get the wireless one. If that was the answer, why make me wait almost 50 min. Then I go and attempt to buy the wireless one for them to tell me that it might or might not work and I cant return it....Wow like thanks for nothing and wasting my time. I called the apple store and they solved this issue in 15 min. If you have issues with airpods go to the apple store: they are completely useless in this matter. Boy! that was horrible service....

Trash.They quoted me a new battery for $200 on the phone. I go in the store and they say $450.They say they have to run diagnostics. They run without my consent and say it’s $75.They don’t quote $150 labor on the phone (didn’t mention it)They tell me there’s nothing wrong with my battery when my computer goes from 100% to 0% in one hour.Complete and utter trash. Will never go back. Lots of better electronic repair stores around.

Recently purchased a new server (approx. $113K worth of stuff) from Melrose because my company had a positive experience many years back, but we really regret going with them this time around.After the install, they deleted some of our data without prior authorization and tried to tell us that they didnt do it (so we had to prove to them that they did). Then they refused to reimburse us for the all of the costs associated with recovering it.They also try to charge the highest price possible unless you call them out on it and they have yet to refund us for a returned product that they guaranteed would work with our computers.Look for other vendors. Its not worth the trouble with these guys.

Only place you can take your Mac for repairs. I had full apple care so the replacement of my batteries was free and did not cost me anything. They told me it would be about 7-10 business days and it was completed in six days. Staff was professional and social distancing was in place. Check in system worked well. But I also came say in the morning to avoid any big crowds. I only had three people I front of me both times.

Spread misinformation about the options for phone repair/replacement, not coinciding with Apples account. Then got charged more than I wanted for things to be replaced that I didnt want replaced and they said it was a new phone, and charged me for one even though they replaced parts of the phone for new parts. Pawns it off on Apple and as if they cant do anything. Dont work with these people and move away from Apple devices

They’re great if you’re looking to buy something, not so great when it comes to repairs and assistance, at least in my experience. I scheduled a Genius Bar appointment with them to get my phone speakers fixed (figured I’d give the smaller store/local Burbank business the support). The guy handling repairs had no idea what he was talking about, clearly didn’t know the setup of an iPhone, and told me there was nothing wrong with it despite demonstrable issues with the speakers. I might go back if I need to buy an accessory, but I won’t be going to these guys for repairs anytime soon.

As a small business, we believe in helping other small businesses.Ive decided to go with Melrose Mac in Burbank and purchase another Mac to our business, (about $2700.00) 60 days ago. this first computer was a lemon, didnt work, sent it back to them they had it for a full week, got it back, and still not working.Ive been told ill get a new computer and it will take 10-14 days.3 weeks after, I called to check the status of the computer and Ive been told theyll going to let me know by the end of the day.the whole week after Ive been calling and they keep saying sorry we are busy we will call you back.Today, 60 days after Ive asked to speak to the manager again and finally I got him on the phone, the manager started screaming at me that he is a sick person and he spends lots of time in hospitals and it non of my business that he is sick?!?!?! WHAT??????? Ive never asked about his health, never questioned anything of that and I have the phone record to prove that, he suddenly took all his frustration of him been like me and hang of the phone in my face!!!! if you are sick you should stay home and not get mad at your customers.All I did is wait for 60 days very patient when I could order the same computer at Apple and get is in two days.SAME ON A COMPANY WHO HIRE A PERSON LIKE THAT!!! so many people out of work these days and he has the audacity to scream at a customer that he is sick.the reason I give two stars and not 0 is because of Andrew, the salesperson with very nice.

I gave 5 stars bc their rating does not need to decrease bc of this looting. Im watching the news from Canada. If you left your device at this store for repair I have a hunch your device is gone and you will be given a new device. This store seems to have been targeted by looters. If you want your device, Im confident you can find it on eBay in the morning. Folks the protests are just and needed. Unfortunately the actions of some take the spotlight away from the real cause. Black men being killed by police is the issue and not looting and violence which is now the focus.

Skip the Apple Store and go directly to the MelroseMAC store on Melrose and the Burbank store on Olive. They are Apple authorized reseller and warranty repair service all in one place. Very modern store design approved by Apple they recently they took over spaces next door have created a giant store for Tech lovers. Service dept. is amazing. Follow up after service or purchase amazing. Catering to local businesses with free delivery and pickup amazing. One of the very first women owned businesses in the tech sector. Hands on CEO and owner Sandy will meet all your company needs with a huge smile in her face and employees that are actually helpful and polite. With two locations HOLLYWOOD and Burbank they are always within reach. Added extra tech services such as data recovery, iPhone screen repair and all services that you can get from Apple warranty service why would you go anywhere else.

This isn’t an official apple store and Genius Bar won’t replace your defective apple product. If you need this, go to The Grove apple store is the closest official place. Said that, easy parking, fast and service, free water and bathroom available. If I would rank this as a computer tech store this is a 5/5 but Apple website will give you this option for your Genius Bar appointment and this will only makes you waste your time.

Easy parking and easy access. However I didnt get a good feeling inside the store. Granted there may well be a difference between a full repair/ service but I came for a simple battery replacement. Since the recent update the battery dropped. They tested at 89% and said it would likely not help much to replace. I asked for some basic troubleshooting to solve the problem but the rep was not that knowledgeable. I own the Apple iphone 7 battery case and he tried to convince me that perhaps the case could be the issue and that most people buy it only as backup battery.. huh? Who buys a case as a backup?! The whole point is to double battery life and protect the phone all the time. He told me it might crack my screen protector to replace battery to which I ask if the update killed my battery why should I pay for a new screen saver too? Then I tried troubleshooting the actual battery issues and he couldnt figure out what might be the problem. Considering this is likely the number one issue customers ask, I realized that I was dealing with morons so I decided to skip the repair there and go to an Apple store direct.

If I could give them 0 I would. First of all this place gives you a $$ amount on what your going to spend even before they see it. They didn’t ask to fix my laptop and proceeding to fixing the outside of the screen which I told them a variety of times not to fix. The reason I went was for the screen being completely black and wouldn’t turn off. They hit me with $299 and they couldn’t do anything about it because they fixed it. The took it back because I wasn’t going to pay for something that I didn’t ask for which makes sense. They had also said I had water damaged on the keyboard when I turned it in fine. Please avoid this place.

This place could use customer service training!!!! I booked an appointment on a Wednesday to replace my iPhone 7+ battery. I came in on Thursday to have the job done and then the battery wasnt even there. Came in on Friday once the battery had been delivered to have my battery replaced and they took my phone and told me to come back in an hour. I came back in an hour and they said they hadnt begun work on my phone because it had a small crack and they didnt want to destory my screen.I then left without having my phone worked on and took it to a place down the street called T-I Repair on Magnolia across from Portos. They did the entire job in 20 minutes, didnt damage my screen, and were cheaper.Summary, dont ever go to Melrose Mac. Go to T-I Repair. The staff there are friendly.

Went in here to have them check out my mac. I was having trackpad and keyboard issues. Apple said theyd take a look at it for free, but should be prepared to drop at least $400 if I wanted them to repair it. I took it here thinking theyd give me a better price, but its $50 just for them to look at it, and the clerk upfront said that I should be prepared to drop at least $800, since that is their flat rate charge. No idea why these guys think they can charge more than Apple, who already charges exorbitant prices for easy fixes. I ended up fixing my mac myself with a $10 part from Amazon and a YouTube tutorial. Definitely dont waste your time here, unless you want to get ripped off.

They have had my computer for about 3 weeks so far. The diagnosis took them a week and for the last 2 weeks they have held my computer and been trying to make me pay all these different fees for this useless work they are doing. Today i called for an update and they said they were waiting on an approval for something from me and sent me multiple emails. They sent one and it went to spam and they never thought to call or leave a message. Customer service here was horrendous besides for the nice guy at the store who helped me the two times i was there. This is a poorly run business and they care more about making money then the customer and it shows. Update. Its now been around a month. For the past week they have had my computer and didnt ship it to apple right away because they took 5 DAYS to back up my computer. A backup that should take 10 minutes took them 5 days. This place is the worst.

They saw me quickly, but were extremely unhelpful. The guy told me that we should use common sense to realize that if I rebooted my phone and front camera was still not working, the. It’s a hardware issue. That was after I explained that this happened suddenly with no drop. Then, I showed him how the front camera worked in the FaceTime application, just not in the camera application. Common sense would then say it must be a software issue if the hardware clearly worked. His response was that I can pay $149 to fix the hardware.

This is the only time I have ever been so dissatisfied in a companys customer service that I have written a review. I hope that this makes just one person avoid the immense headache and money drain of having to deal with this company.Hands down worst customer service I have ever encountered. Took my computer here for data recovery after a hard drive crash. I was charged $50 for a diagnostics test and told I would receive a call back within 2 business days. After the diagnostics I was told they would know whether recovery of my data would cost $200 or $400, based on the condition of my failed hard drive.Four days later, I took the liberty of calling back myself to check on the progress, at which point I was told that my data could all be recovered for $200 (tier 1 data recovery). I went ahead with it, happy to only be paying $200 instead of $400. After another 2 weeks I was sent an email letting me know that my computer was ready for pickup. The email also included however, a list of about 200 files that had not been recovered. Now it may just be me, but when I’m told that all of my data can be recovered, I expect ALL of my data to be recovered. To avoid turning this into a novel, I’ll sum up the rest (which has now taken up over 1 month of my time) by saying that after being told that I could spend another $200 to get the tier 2 data recovery done and actually get ALL my files back, I went ahead with it once again, desperate at this point. The catch, however, is that although all of my files were recovered, those 200 that weren’t recovered the first time were now damaged. I of course, was not told that this was a possibility until after the fact. Now one month later, and $400 in the hole, I am getting my computer back and I have never encountered a group of people so ill suited to work in customer service in all my life.

Most of the Apple products are the same price as the Apple store, so convenience was nice. But, the salesgirl was lying to my friend trying to sell her on an iMac by telling her the store could get her software programs that no longer exist. I said she was wrong and the salesgirl corrected me by saying Trustttt me. So, shop if you need something quick/easy, but be weary of the sales people trying to sell you products that literally are not available/dont exist

I had an iPhone that died on me and walked into the MelroseMac store with a bright red phone. While the staff had no idea what to do with it! (it was a crazy situation) they were so helpful and kind. They helped me transfer my sim card and everything possible over to an extra phone I had. They didnt have to help me I wasnt purchasing anything from the store. I appreciate the help they gave me so much. Thank you guys! I needed to have a phone right away and you made that happen. :)

I hadnt been to Melrose Mac in years (prob 8 since lived there) and then I recalled being pricey and they just had a service outside of the Mac stores that allowed them that. However, recently I discovered I could upgrade/double my Memory in my Mac Pro 15 and the Apple store was like $129 and one of the bros there suggested Melrose Mac. I called, the lady super nice on phone and said was like $40... I shot down there 30 mins before they close, all there were nice, took a stroll down melrose, came back and was DONE. Then they pointed out had missing screw, $5 to replace and in 5 machines my solid lighting fast machine/on the spot service was ready to ROCK like never before! Just spoke to someone in customer service, and they told me that they could help me repair my bosses computer which he spilled coffee on a year ago. Only after I inquired did they admit they send it to Apple for repair. And only after I asked directly if they would charge an additional fee did they admit the do charge an extra fee on top of what Apple charges and it is probably cheaper to go to Apple. Wow.

On Thursday, October 8, 2016 I went to Melrose Mac Service Counter at their W. Hollywood location at around 10am, quite frantic over an issue with my iPhone and iPad. A lovely female tech named MALIA directed me to an Apple store that she knew was less busy due to construction and even made a reservation for the Genius Bar there that was available the same afternoon at 1pm. Id made a previous reservation for the following Saturday night at 7pm online and would have had to wait two days otherwise. After spending an hour at the noisy Apple Genius Bar table I was informed by a lead Genius manager that they could not help me. At home I went onto the internet to purchase a used iPhone and called a number of iPhone repair shops. After no success at all, I called back to Melrose Mac and the tech who answered named ANDREW to inquire if he could recommend a repair shop and told him the issue. He replied that he would fix my iPhone so I ran over there at 4pm. ANDREW did the repair within 10 minutes and before I left asked him if he could repair my iPad to which he agreed. I ran home in traffic and back there by 5:45 pm and he repaired my iPad also within 10 minutes. I offered money for this excellent service and he refused to accept any remuneration. Happily contented, relieved and very grateful to Melrose Mac is how I feel today and now I can enjoy my weekend and watch football and the Presidential Candidates debate with a clear mind. Thank you very much MALIA and ANDREW and MELROSE MAC, a great company.

Melrose Mac is the biggest rip off for Apple computer repairs. They hit you up with a non-refundable $50 diagnostic charge - WHICH PREVIOUSLY THEY ABSORBED INTO THE FINAL REPAIRS COST FROM APPLE -- but now the greedy bastards have decided they need to pocket the diagnostic fee for themselves, while Apple customers are hurting from the already high repair costs. To add salt to the wounds, Apple only guarantees their repairs for 90 days and this year alone Ive had the same issue with my crappy 2011 MacBook Pro (logic board) processed through Melrose Mac, both times out of warranty. I find their staff indifferent and detached from a customers problems. Their mantra should be: Take it up with Apple. If youve got an issue with any Apple product, go straight to the Apple store or an Apple repair center. Youll just be costing yourself an extra fifty bucks of pain and an extra layer of hands on your computer before it gets to an Apple service depot.

When I initially bought the Black Magic HD-LINK for $648.90 from Sandi Sandi she said take the unit and if it doesnt work out just bring it back and I will give you your money back. I have been doing business with Sandi for over ten years. First at Big Mac in West LA with her mom and aunt, then with her uncle Jack Sandi, then with e-clips, followed by her small company in Sunset and finally Melrose Mac. I have bought tens of thousand of dollars worth of hardware from her over the years. So I was quite shocked when she didnt credit my American Express card.I purchased the Black Magic Box for a specific project and delivered the unit to my rental client in the morning. Later that day I got a frantic call from the client that they were having problems getting picture. I went over to the clients facility and checked the signal path; the Black Magic converter was hooked up to the SDI (hd serial digital) output from my Sony HD-Cam SRW-5500 and that all the switches were in the correct order and I even had a new laptop that I used to download the software to change the settings on the Black Magic Box. I spent nearly two hours at the clients facility; downloading drivers, changing settings but to no avail. The same evening I called another video equipment rental facility and sub-rented their AJA box which worked, plug and play in ten minutes. The client was obviously happy after hours of pain staking attempts to get a signal to their plasma screen from the Black Magic. Black Magic has a reputation of less than perfect equipment and spotty customer service and technical support. So it was obvious that the Black Magic Box was the problem and I commenced to return the product to the retailer.When I brought the unit back the following day and I explained to the employee, that it didnt work as prescribed. I had the product in hand and asked to return the item for a full refund. He mentioned that there is a restock fee since the box was opened. I explained that the unit didnt work for what I needed and I spent plenty of time trying to get it to work. They guy asked if I had called the Black Magic Tech Support or emailed them. I mentioned that there was no time for that and I just wanted to get my money back; Sandi did say that she would wait to hear from me before charging my card. He asked about the project and implied that since the project was over that I was now looking to return the Black Magic box for a full refund, effectively getting a free rental on the Melrose Macs dime. I told him you dont get it - it doesnt work and I want to get my money back in so many words. I asked to speak to Sandi and she said there would be a restock fee of 15%, I retracted that you said you would take care of me, these were your own words, you now want to charge me a restock fee. She recanted and said fine no restock fee. He printed out a copy of the receipt and wrote void with an x and a line for my signature I signed the invoice and he took the product from the counter and stuck it on the shelf behind him. During the course of our conversation he asked what I had hooked up the unit to. I had mentioned a VTR (video tape recorder) and he remarked that he thought it was hooked to a black magic hd card and then apologized for selling the unit to me since that wouldnt have been his first choice, but rather the Aja box would have suited my needs better.After several attempt in having the money credited back to my account by Amex, I have made zero progress. I did look at Melrose Macs invoice which was provided to Amex and later sent to me. After inspecting their copy I noticed that... I spoke to AMEX for the fifth time that the charge for $648.90 be permanently removed, since the merchandise was returned and the charge was put forth without my credit card approximately 1-2 weeks after i had returned the Black Magic HD-link. This is after the fact of trying to personally work out the reimbursement of the overage. I recently spoke with someone at Melrose Mac and they spoke of the incident with impunity.

The worst customer service ever! I came in to take my repaired iPhone and they brought me someone else phone, charged me more than they should and then told me that I need to wait another 45 minutes!! When I asked to talk with the manager, he was too busy to talk to me!!!
