Been back here several times and every time is just as good as the last! The staff is very friendly and attentive. I’ve really enjoyed the garlic noodles which had a really amazing flavor with a hint of pepper. The fried rice is always a good choice. It’s never over cooked and always fried to perfection with a few options. They are all equal in my book but just depends what you’re in the mood for.Pandan ice cream for dessert is a great way to end the meal. Always fresh, never frozen, always delicious. The bathroom is always clean and available to customers.Parking on the street can be difficult to find, but side streets do have available parking.

Cute little spot that my friend choose for dinner. We sat in this cute little round table nook in the window. It was a chilly night and perfect for pho. We started off with the fresh rolls and the taco specials for taco Tuesday. The spring roll itself had flavor to it and the dipping sauce was thicker than other places Ive had, but it was delicious. The tacos took me for a surprise, the meat was marinated well with flavor and delicious with every bite. Then for our entrees, my friend ordered the pho special and I ordered the mamas special fried rice with the fried egg. The pho broth was savory and the meatball had a different texture to it compared to others Ive tasted. It was a bit more spongy, but I didnt mind it. The fried rice dish was light in flavor, nothing really distinct about it. But it was good with sriracha. However when it came down to it, my friend and I both agreed that the spring roll/tacos were the best out of the 4 dishes.

Bahn mi was very good and fully stuffed with meat and veggies. The pho was mediocre, broth wasnt that flavorful in my opinion. I feel like the Vietnamese restaurants in LA dont like to add lemongrass into their broth cause thats what I always associate pho with. The portion of food was decent and very filling. Black milk tea which I got for free when checked in on Yelp was okay.

Review №27

Not quite what I expected. They are quite pricy for Vietnamese food. Ive had Pho Saigon Pearl bookmarked for some time after seeing it on Instagram. They advertise that their Oxtail is boiled for 20 hours, so I had to give it a try. The most Im ever able to boil my Oxtail is about 4 hours, because aint no body got time for that. Our party of 2 started with the Spring Rolls. I had the Oxtail Pho, while my buddy had the Pork Vermicelli Bowl. It also comes in a single size, and not a whole not of noodles. I was spoiled with Vietnamese food growing up in Sacramento. It was literally at every corner and shopping center in South Sacramento, which meant that it was cheap. The Spring Rolls were good. I noticed that they use very thick rice paper to wrap these. The thick rice paper makes it much softer and a slightly different texture. I prefer these over the thin ones. The sauce is a bit too sweet for me so I added some Siracha. The Oxtail Pho was good. While its a bit pricy, I know that Oxtail is not cheap at all when buying them at the Asian markets. No doubt that theyve been boiled for sometime, because the meat was falling off the bones as I attempted to bite around it. I like my broth with a bit more flavor. Some lime, siracha, hoison, chili oil, the jalapenos, etc. A bit of everything from their spice rack always does the trick.Their food is good, but they lack on service. Youll notice that they have a very young staff, so I was surprised to see that service wasnt quite what it should be. Young people tend to understand that a bit more. They seemed to be focusing more on to go orders than taking care of the customers inside the restaurant. There was certainly no bonding or chatting with the server who took our order. Very much like most Asian restaurants where they take your order and walk away. The tables are a bit small if you have several dishes. We must have gotten our Spring Rolls a couple of minutes before our main dish items arrived. Definitely think they could have waited a bit, because the guy took away our plates before we finished the appetizers. So we ended up eating them straight off the large plate.Ive always thought of myself as a super liberal dude, but I guess I get a bit conservative when it comes to the work place. The staff could dress up just a tad more. I dont mean uniforms and polos, but at least something other than baggy basketball shorts. If youre delivering food to the tables, people will notice it. Just saying.Street meter parking available on Fairfax. Im not sure if there is a garage for the building or not. Free parking after 8PM on Fairfax.Id come back. They do fall in my top 5 places for Vietnamese food. Currently Nong La on La Brea/Beverly is my #1.

First time visit since I was in the area and was craving some pho. The atmosphere was nice, plenty of seating and well ventilated. The service was nice, happy server and I didnt even have to ask for more water. I had the phofax special I believe it was called. The price was a little higher than expected but the quality of the meat really tells you why. The cuts were very tender but what I really loved was the size of the tendon! I Love tendons and this was a monster of a piece. The only problem I had was the broth, all you taste is the fat. I was a little disappointed but Ill give this place another visit when Im in the area, maybe Ill try the chicken next time.

This is really my go-to place for pho but this time I Got the Thai Basil Stir Fry. It was good...but not at all what I thought it was going to be. I thought the noodles were going to be stir fried but it was just stir fried meat on basically a vermicelli bowl without egg roll. There is such thing as Vietnamese stir fry noodles, which I asked for clarification if this was that. It was a confusing dialogue with the waiter. I ate it all cus it tasted fine but, Im just here to clarify for others like me looking for Vietnamese stir fried noodles, this is not that dish.

“I’ll tell all the staff who you are so that they can educate you on pho every time you come in.”WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. At first, I was ecstatic to find a Vietnamese place close to my house. I ordered the filet mignon pho bowl. It came as a shock to me that the meat would be served in a separate container, entirely raw. I noticed this 25 minutes later after I arrived at work to eat my lunch and was unable to put the meat in because it was uncooked. I wish this was made clear to me beforehand that it would be served raw and in a separate container than the broth.I called back to ask what had happened and what I could do about it. The response I received from the female manager was APPALLING. She asked for my first name and I gave it to her, then she responded “good, I can’t do anything about it, but what I’ll do is tell all the staff who you are so that they can educate you on pho every time you come in.” She continued by saying she’d even be making a video and be the first to send it to me.You can’t make this kind of thing up - whoever was working the shift at 1:45pm on 11/29 should really get a customer service orientation.

As I comb Yelp looking for pho I came across this address. As we ordered I realized that it was going to be a tough choice to overcome my expectations. Ive had two fabulous experiences and other pho restaurants in one in Camarillo and the other in Santa Maria. I have to admit the pho here with oxtails left me wanting the taste experience that I had before at other restaurants. Oxtail pho was little tough, the soup lacked the flavor depth that I am accustomed to. However, the shrimp and rice is something I would definitely return for. I would definitely drive an hour to repeat that experience. Spring rolls were above average. I cant put my finger on exactly the ingredients of the spring roll but it almost snapped with freshness in the center. The dip in sauce was way too thick, it didnt want to coat the spring roll as dipping sauce should. The fud definitely need a little bit of flavor levels but everything else was rather tasty.
