Its my first time here. Really charming little place with outdoor seating. The store has an eclectic mix of items from all around the world. I found paella rice which Id been looking for! Stop in for iced mint tea on a hot day!
Great coffee, fabulous baked goods, and healthy ready-to-go lunch items in one of my favorite shops! Its actually the easiest place for me to grab a delicious, fresh, satisfying, nutritious meal on the go.They also sell both fun and high end items --- from gorgeous pieces from well known local jewelers, to meri meri items for every occasion, artisan cocktail mixers and home accessories, this place is all about selling beautiful things from those who have perfected their craft. Wonderful place to grab a last minute gift or do your holiday shopping while you sip a latte!
Cute store with great coffee and pastries.
Stopped in during a visit through LA and was treated extremely well by staff. Had what we were looking for in a kitchen item and we bought it. Theres something else but I cant mention it here. It is, however, VERY positive. Nice down home people - like family!!
Spot-on execution of the modern general store concept in a converted single family home. Bursting at the seams general store emphasizes curated mens accessories and housewares and a healthy dose of gourmet items, including Mast chocolates. Coffee is similarly well-thought out and is supplemented with a small selection of pastries. Dog-loving patrons sit at the mostly covered outdoor seating overlooking busy street (with no direct crosswalk access!).
They sell various Broome St. General Store food products but most of the rest is from somewhere away, often imported. I went looking for unique hand made items and left with nothing.
It is a classic General Store cram packed full of everything imaginable. In addition there is a delightful Christmas store attached that has all kinds of Christmas trees, ornaments and decorations. The store itself is full of food and knick-knacks and various sundries.
Love this coffee place with unique store as part of the coffee. You can shop while you wait for your late to be ready. Very friendly and honest staff, once I lost my wallet at the store and they returned it to me. Highly recommended this Silver lake coffee jewel to anyone.
Amazing Customer service experience. Will definitely be back.
Strange place with strange people who look like little house on the prarie. Will not be back. Coffee was ok.
Expensive classy stuff and treats. Also Sunday is courage bagels... Perhaps the best bagels in LA. Get there early on Sunday
Really cool little spot. Good coffee, good food items, an interesting assortment of high end dry goods.
A good place to go for coffee. Lots of trinkets and clothes. Over priced for sure. Its a cute spot though. A consummate LA spot for a cuppa joe.
I stopped in here a few days ago during a visit with my cousin who lives in the area - very cute little shop with some unique odds and ends and great iced coffee!
Excellent spot to spend time alone or talk business. The staff was very friendly and kind.
Some of the most beautiful things Ive ever seen ! Must stop here
Lovely patio seatings!!
Cute little place. Very crowded. Expensive but the coffee is great!
They serve gimme coffee, a good tasty - not to mention way more affordable - alternative to an $8/16oz cup of lamill coffee on silver lake blvd, or starbucks even right down the street. real different ambiance/scene than intelligentsia on sunset.
Everything about this place was perfect. I couldnt ask for a more perfect place to be so perfect. I had one problem though, there was this big man, with a red beard; red hair too! When I made eye contact with him, he dragged me out behind the store. I was scared! This wasnt an ordinary man. He was at least 64 and 90+ pounds. He grabbed the lids off of two old tin trash can, then kind that Oscar the Grouch lives in, slammed my head in the middle of them, as if they were cymbals. He then threw me on the rough, rough cement. Its like the man had no regard for life. I asked him, Why are you doing this to me, I dont do to you a single thing. He snickered, kicked my stomach, and said, Boy, theres only one man who tells me what to do, and thats my daddy! Randy then got a look in his eye; Id only seen that look once before. I could tell he was going to do something real special like. He took off his ten gallon hat, unlaced his boots, took off his shirt, and laid them all next to me. I was stunned. What was this madman going to do? He then vanished. I was petrified! What had just happened to him? Battered, bruised, and bloodied, I stood from the spot from where I had lain. Sprinting out of the alley, I felt a force whip me back. It was like I had flown 30 feet in the opposite direction. There was Randy, holding a fiery cup of coffee. Bottoms up! he said with fervor. He then preceded to pour the blazing coffee directly onto my face. My face felt as if it has melted off. I could feel it dripping to the ground, like hot wax from a freshly burnt candle. I then heard a smash! Crack, right on the back of my neck, Randy had smacked me with the cup. I now had ceramic sticking out of the back of me.Then, everything changed. I soared into the firmament! I became one with everything. Everything was perfect. I would give anything to go back to that moment. I felt as if I had all of the knowledge of the universe. I understood good, I understood evil, I understood. My consciousness had opened. I could see my life force linked to everything else. I could gather energy from the plants in the earth, power from the sun in the sky, and serenity from the roaring waters of the oceans. I was a god. Just like that, I was sent back into Broome St. General Store. I was sitting at a table, a coffee mug up to my face. Fresh mocha was dripping down my throat. I then realized that the single sip of coffee I had was the inner peace and enlightenment everyone had been searching for. Never before had mankind tasted such a stupendous drink. I looked up to the counter; there he was, the barista, Randy. Ran man was leaning with his elbow on the counter, chin resting on his clinched fist. He had a smirk on his face. Oh boy, did he know what he had done! Randy gave me a wink. And with that, he turned around to make his next customers coffee. The boy has a gift. A gift such as this mustnt be wasted. If youre looking for heaven in a cup, you will, literally, find it here. Make sure Randy is there, hell fix you up nice and good; and treat you to a dream that youll never forget.Heres to you Randy! May your legend live on...
