Absolutely fantastic gelato. Espresso anything is quality. You know you have good stuff when the gelato isnt all puffed up. These people know whats going on. A must for dessert!

Part of Downtown Los Angeles’ bourgeoning dining scene since 2014 it was over six years later that Gelateria Uli earned accolades from Los Angeles Magazine as the city’s “Best Ice Cream,” a visit to the original Spring Arcade location on Saturday casting doubt on the validity of that list based on a sampling of three flavors.Owned by Ulviyya Nasibova, a native of Azerbaijan who considers the Gelatetia her “American Dream,” it is with Social Distancing guidelines in place that guests are invited to choose from 24 daily flavors, the fact that three were sold out at 6:00pm preventing a taste of California Pistachio that was instead replaced by Cinnamon-heavy Horchata.Using time-honored Italian techniques, plus local Ingredients as often as possible, additional flavors run the gamut from traditional to “LA-Inspired,” and although the willingness to try Black Sesame or Lavender is commendable a spoonful of Stracciatella lacks the creaminess of what one gets in Italy or locally from an “American” spot like Jeni’s while Bee Pollen tastes more Caramel than Honey with a slightly granular mouthfeel.

This place was cute and the gelato was delicious. Lots of interesting flavors, I had the basil, my daughter had speculou and my friend got mint chocolate chip and salted caramel. All were amazing! Also our server was very knowledgeable and friendly.

OMG, it was beyond my expectations!!! The most unique flavors, way healthier than regular ice-cream. They use organic fruit that are in season, purchased from the local farmers. You can also purchase your favorite flavor in pints.Friendly staff, tasting and dine-in is allowed. Would definitely go back and highly recommend to everyone, if you are in DTLA, visiting Gelateria ULI is a MUST!

Women-owned, local gelato shop with drinks and vegan options. Came here on Memorial Day Monday around 10:30 and got some coffee. The lavender latte isn’t too sweet and they have some strong espresso. The employee (whose name I didn’t catch but is a Gemini and was the absolute best) mentioned that there is complimentary filtered water should you wish to make an Americano after you’re done with the espresso. Credit cards are accepted. Street parking is available but it’s DTLA, so you know you’ll have to circle a few times. There’s a bathroom available but you need to show your receipt to the security guard who’ll open the door for you. There’s some seating outside and one table that can accommodate a wheelchair.We came back after lunch at the nearby Rice Box. You can try three flavors, so sampled the bee pollen, basil, and matcha waffle bits. All of them were delicious and creamy. I decided on the matcha since it’s a seasonal flavor and got a vegan waffle cone ($1 extra). I enjoyed every single bite (and still think about it). Overall, it’s a cute spot with stupendous gelato and really friendly workers.

Amazing staff & Awesome ice cream!I was there on 8th afternoon before heading back home.I actually had a big lunch and didnt have much room for anything else. I was just wandering there, and the gentleman in the shop did a very good introduction of their products and I tried two flavours. I ended up with one scoop in the cone. It was so DELICIOUS! I sincerely wish I could take more.The girl in the shop was so sweet. I asked if I could have a plastic bag because I had an aircraft pillow in my hands for my flight back home that night. And the girl offered me a souvenir bag free of charge! Wow, that was completely beyond expectation!Thanks guys! Wish you a great 2019!

Mint gelato was super refreshing and tasty. Basil gelato, omg unexpected flavor and it works. Soo good

High quality gelato. And the staff is super kind and friendly.They don’t have restroom but you can keep the receipt and show it to the security guard of the building. The restroom is on the second or the third floor, and the stairs are behind the door the guard guards.

You won’t find better gelato. Unique flavors that taste fresh. I sampled at least eight flavors and each were amazing. Not the cheapest place but worth it for a splurge.

With many options, very nice ice cream. Its not expensive and the place is fine. Must visit if deserts are what you want. Perfect flavors, decent prices and not too sweet.

In the arcade building there are some food shops, stopped by Gelateria ULI - not only was it delicious, if you need to use the restroom, keep the receipt and show the attendant so they can unlock the door for you

Gelateria Uli is great! I love their gelato, arguably the best in Downtown Los Angeles. Their gelato is made with care and Uli’s staff makes sure that all the flavors are top notch. My favorite is the California Pistachio. Soooooo good.

Had the bee pollen and Thai iced tea gelato, temperature, texture and flavors were fantastic.

Yum! Located right in downtown LA. I think the better option in the area. The sesame ice cream was delicious and took me back to Japan.

Ive tried peach, raspberry and blueberry. peach flavor was absolutely amazing, raspberry was way too sour for some reason and blueberry was smooth and refreshing. Its a cute little place with nice housemade batches and the staffs are wonderful and friendly.

She makes her own ice cream on site. Many different flavors and fresh fruits that are added. She also travels to different places for events and will sell you a large cup only. Has outside seating only and is seasonal. But she will serve you pints and quarts to take home.

The best ice cream (Ive tried 4 flavors plus a malted shake) Ive ever had. and the hot fudge sauce is amazing. You can also purchase hand-packed containers of the home made ice cream and fudge sauce to take home.

Stop and get some of this great ice cream made right on the premises. locally owned and operated. Flavors change often and youll never know whats going to be on the menu. Some strange flavors as well as old favorites. Only negative is its pricey and the serving sizes arent always the same.

This probably the nicest ice cream Ive been in. There were many flavors to choose from, all seems to be great. I had a great time getting free sample in most of the flavors they have. I would come me back again, if I need to cool myself off.

Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. Had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. This place has a great feel to it. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I liked.

What I like about this ice cream spot is that they have a small selection of flavors. I dont mind other places with a large menu, but it the decision process is easier. Pretty solid gelato though the flavors are rather traditional. Which is ok if thats what youre gunning for, but I do quite enjoy creative flavors of various ice cream shops more. Theyre more exciting that way. That being said, this isnt by any means bad, and the scoops of ice cream are quite large. The texture and consistency is very creamy, yet surprisingly not too heavy either. So its still very much high quality ice cream, and it works to bring the classic flavors to life, but it still isnt something Id go out of my way to get.

I enjoy this place for a night time treat. Nestled in a busy area of downtown, its perfect for after dinner dessert. Lots of choices, and reasonably priced. The gelato is a creamier texture and more full flavored than some other gelaterias. I like that, but it might not be for you. Definitely more flavorful than little damage down the street.

I was visiting the city, and to be honest, I am disappointed. The store has 4.7 of review, so I was excited to come try the gelato. However, it was EXTREMELY SWEET... a GOURMET gelato is not that sweet. I get better gelato in other places for sure...

Must go when youre in the mission! Man, the mission literally has the best foods and desserts. I always get the honey lavender and husband gets the balsamic strawberry. The line is always super long even on weeknights but the line does go fairly quickly!

Id say that this is a great place to go to enjoy a nice day out on Dolores, but the flavors really arent so good considering the prices that theyre charging. The service was also a bit curt, although understandable with how many people were coming through.

Staff was friendly, but the gelato was absolutely awful. I got vanilla, a classic flavor that should be easy to like, but it tasted very off. My partner got sea salt caramel and it also had a strange and bad aftertaste.The gelato was so bad we actually had to throw it away after a couple of bites. I have never ever before thrown away perfectly good frozen treat.It was late at night, so maybe that was the issue, but regardless, I was very disappointed.

Uli is one of my favorite places for ice cream in all of Los Angeles (and possibly the world). The flavors are always stellar and the smooth consistency of their ice cream is unlike anything you have tried before. The gelato is made on site, most of the staff is informed of the process and can aid in any possible dietary restrictions.This is a do not miss location!

This place was so good! Best gelato Ive ever had! They had this really delicious sweet white corn gelato that was so amazing, and Im glad I tried it. Their sorbet is really good also.
