This place really is like nowhere else in the area. So many kinds of meat for sale, and a staff as large as your average automotive garage. Its the only place Ive been able to buy fresh suet for human consumption. Meat orders can be placed days in advance.Ive been going to then regularly for a while now, and fully intend to continue. Efficient, friendly, professional service, and a succulent aroma from the moment you walk in the store. Cant recommend them enough.

We used Kingsleys for both our catering and our bar service for our wedding. Janet and her team were incredible! She was so kind and was always so willing to answer any questions I had about our wedding. Our guests were RAVING about the food and loved how quick the bar service was. The food and drinks were amazing and so well-priced compared to other vendors. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer!

Since I started buying my meat here two months ago I cant picture myself buying from a grocery store ever again. Great prices and friendly, helpful staff. I havent done a lot of serious cooking so I wasnt sure what I needed. They helped me decide on what cut to get and picked out a good roast (pictured). I cooked the chuck roast for Sunday dinner with my parents and everyone loves it. So much so that my mother has now also started buying her meat here.

Amazing service and the quality of the meats (and other products) is just insane.I could heap on endless praise for various experiences I have had there which range from grabbing a hot lunch plate to selecting cuts of meat for dinner, but what prompted me to write this particular review is what they did for our family for Thanksgiving:When we told them it was a different Thanksgiving and we were looking for something different, the Kingsley team suggested a large, seasoned prime rib in which all we would have to do is take home in cook in the over per their directions. Pick up was streamlined and super easy and they were incredibly helpful in their direction. Once we got the roast home and cooked it...Wow! It was the hit of the evening and crown jewel of the meal! So incredibly tasty!Highly recommend Kingsley Meat!

They are always so friendly and polite here. My grandfather and I have been going here for over 20 years and could not imagine life without them! The staff will even bend over backwards to make sure your order is exactly what you wanted.

Ok. Here’s the deal. If you’re in Louisville and you’re looking for some outstanding food, make the trip to find this place. Fresh food, large portions, excellent value. The portion was large enough for two people and as a grown man, I had to save some for dinner.

When I say this is the best place i have ate at like OMG for 11.00 my box was filled with half slab of ribs all meat and 2 sides which was good I will definitely be going back..... My box is super heavy .... My new #1 place to eat.... They also r a grocery store

At a wedding, deeply disappointed. Beef and chicken cold. No napkins for cheese and vegetable table or dessert table. Could not find a garbage can. Kingsley, what happened? Everything was timed to the program! Broccoli was overcooked and very smoke tasting..Sorry for the bride and groom.

Janet at Kingsleys catered my wedding on 7/13/2019 and did an amazing job! Everyone said the food was delicious and the bar service was great! Couldnt have asked for a better caterer and Kingsleys is affordable! Not outrageously priced like many others I spoke with.

Went in because of outdoor signage advertising beef tenderloin for $15.98. went in and double checked that price was indeed $15.98. the man said yes, so I said I wanted that. He picked one up from directly behind the sign, weighed it and handed it to me. I paid and came home to put it in my freezer. Today, when I took it out to thaw, I saw I was charged $17.98 a lb so I called. The manager proceeded to say what probably happened is I was given preskinned which is 17.98 but if I had gotten skinned, it would work out the same. I have never heard of this before and said so. I also explained that he picked it up from directly behind the sale sign and this seemed deceptive. I asked if he understood this and he agreed yes, he could understand why I felt deceived. Instead of offering a credit for a future visit, he wanted me to return the meat and hed cut a skinned piece for the sale price. I explained that what they did was deceptive sales practices and I didnt want to waste an hour of time to get what I should have gotten to begin with. Id rather pay non sale.prices to a fair and honest seller. The selection looked good and its a shame that theyd rather lose customers than be fair especially when he admitted it did appear as I perceived it and the man who packaged it should have explained the price difference . Watch the labels if you choose to shop there.

Look I’m going to get straight to the point. This is how business should be done. This man Jeff takes care of me and my girlfriend almost every time. I’ve only been shopping with Kingsleys for about 90 days now. I’ve had everything. Amish organic chicken, Prime Steaks, Bacon, Turkey, Crawfish, Lobster tails, Ground sirloin, Ground beef and pretty much we add something new every time. Every thing is always on point and the price is a great value for the quality of meat. I bring people to Kingsley just to give them more business because how well they run their ship. We literally refuse to buy meat from any where else. Old school. Old fashion. Straight to the point. I’ll buy from this butcher shop for as long as I’m Louisville Kentucky. I’ve spend hundreds. Damn I’ll spend thousands at this place. I appreciate the energy the staff always has. This is how business is done. I love this butcher shop. Seriously do a favor for Louisville. Stopped by for lunch and Im really glad I did. Got the hot plate lunch. It included 1 meat and 2 sides. I went with the fish sandwich with maccaroni and cheese, and green beans. Everything was amazing! The fish was fresh and cooked just right. The Mac n cheese was amazing. Cant wait to go back to try out the other options.

Everyone is so kind and the meat and fish is far and above any competitor. Bought fresh, flown Alaskan salmon and it was better than any Ive ever eaten--including in Alaska! And Kingsleys carries the best quality beef tenderloin in Louisville and trim it perfectly and its priced several dollars less per pound than Kroger or Costco!

Kingsley catered the side dishes for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Service was great and very friendly. However we were disappointed in the food. The potatoes were barely cooked in the loaded potato salad. No one enjoyed it. The baked beans had some raw onion in it and did not appear to have been cooked long at all. Also there was a ton of pepper in the beans that I do not remember in the food tasting. I like spice but it was way too much for most people. Disappointing!

Love this store! Wonderful lean burger (that you know is real quality meat) you cant get at a grocery store. Breakfast sausage is tasty and not fatty and full of gristle like prepackaged brands. We also love their bacon, pulled pork, and potato salad. Everything looks wonderful, and they have a large variety of items. Very helpful and friendly staff who are happy to answer questions about products and share preparation recommendations. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality.

I usually buy rib eye steak from Kroger and the quality is usually pretty good. But I decided to splurge for my daughter’s birthday and buy the prime steak at Kingsley’s. It was 22 bucks a pound and I got 5 steaks... 78 bucks! Ok... I figured it would be worth it.... boy was I wrong!!! The cuts of beef came out closer to a sirloin or rag meat... over priced low quality meat!

Janet was especially accommodating, which was incredibly important to me since I was planning my Kentucky wedding from Seattle. I was able to do a tasting where I tried tons of food so I knew exactly what I wanted. We called so many times with a million questions and Janet always got back to us quickly and was so helpful! The night of our wedding she even made us to-go boxes with everything (including cake!) to take to the hotel when we inevitably were hungry later that night. Bartenders were fantastic as well! Great catering, wonderful customer service, I’m very glad Kingsley took care of us on our big day.

Stopped in today after many years and bought some ground round for burgers on the grill tonight. Best juicy burgers we have had in a long time. Never will buy grocery store meat again. I am a fan. Service is great too.

We love this butcher and go here often. Excellent quality meat with a wonderful selection. It is not the cheapest place in town but the higher quality makes up for it. I really feel that for what you get it is a more than fair price. Also they regularly do Groupons so keep an eye out for those and grab a few when you can, you will not regret it.

Delicious meats that are much higher quality than grocery stores. They cost more here, but worth it, since Kroger meat has gone down in quality. Dont know what happened to Kroger, maybe different suppliers or buying lower grade USDA. Anyway Kingsley Meats gets 5 stars.

I could go on and on about Kingsleys! When I called their business, the lady was extremely polite (even though I asked a million questions) and gave me wonderful information. When I went into the business I was welcomed and helped right away! They exceeded my expectations! I then asked them (while it was extremely busy) how I should cook the ribs. The employee wrote down a recipe for me and told me to call if I had any questions. The prices are AMAZING and the quality was beyond amazing! It was my first time cooking ribs and the recipe allowed the meat to be juicy and fall off the bone. I will be coming back every month for my meats! Thank you so much for providing wonderful customer service and even better products :)!

Kingsley Meats and Catering did a whole pig for our party on Derby Day. It was out of this world good. HIGHLY recommend. They delivered on time and delivered the best Derby meal we have ever had. Our guests were very much wowed.

Best source for beef in the Commonwealth. I travel from Fayette Co. to get their USDA certified prime dry aged porterhouse cut to order for under $20 per lb. Fast friendly service too.

I cannot describe how much we adored Janet and her staff! My daughters wedding was held on 12-16-17 at Riverside, Farnsley-Moreman. Janet was terrific with utilizing the available space and keeping the reception running smoothly. I felt a sense of peace knowing that she was in control and I didnt have to worry about anything! As for the food--I had so many compliments on the spread! From the perfect roast beef to the divine ham, everything was delicious! I highly recommend Kingsleys for any catering needs.

Kingsleys catered our daughters wedding on October 26, 2019, at the Gheens Foundation Lodge/Parklands of Floyds Fork. The hors doeuvres table was beautifully decorated and the buffet was absolutely delicious where guests enjoyed teriyaki chicken, roasted turkey and carved roast beef (which were all cooked to perfection). The macaroni and cheese, loaded mashed potatoes, green beans and sweet potato casserole made everyones taste buds happy. Janet was an absolute delight to work with from start to finish - the simple words thank you are not enough for all that Janet did throughout this past year from the wedding taste testing to the actual event. The staff tending to both the buffet and bar were all extremely pleasant and very polite. We did not have a single snafu (to my knowledge). As a matter of fact, we forgot to bring a knife for the happy couple to cut the cake but Janet had a beautiful one on-site just in case. We will continue to buy meats from Kingsleys and will 100% utilize catering by Kingsleys for another event.

Came in recently, got some food to go. The chicken was great as always, but the ribs were dry. Was wanting the usual ribs...They are almost always good.

The staff is always helpful and extremely friendly. Must try their homemade bratwurst and marinade them in beer and grill. Truly awesome, also their chicken cordon bleu is great.

Kingsley Meats just catered our daughters wedding on Sept. 15, 2018 at Farmington Plantation. Where do I start?...They did an amazing job with a beautiful set-up with the appetizers and the roasted pig was excellent as was the citrus chicken, buttered parsley new potaoes, pasta salad, green beans and ham...and loved the small cornbread loaves with honey--so moist! Everyone raved about the food and it really made for an extra special evening. Janet took great care with all of the details and was very accomodating with some of our special requests, as was Jeff, the owner. Justin was great to work with the night of and they all made it come together for the cocktail hour and reception. Staff was friendly and helpful and did a great job...even with the heat! I cant say enough---they made it all happen that night! I highly recommend!
