Chuck was very helpful in getting us a new lens for our Nikon camera. It broke while on vacation and he had it in stock.

Chuck is a very knowledgeable guy and treats you like a friend. A great shop where Ive bought a lot of gear over the years. Youll always get a fair deal on good equipment. You cant many find shops like this these days with awesome customer service.

I know nothing about photography, I kinda take pictures. Chuck treats everyone like their time is as valuable as his, and you can feel that respect. He knows what hes talking about, and hell explain it to you, too.I wont go to anyone else.

The staff here is SUPER ABNOSOME! I had the best experience. They helped me with a very important charity thing I did a couple weeks ago. Everyone should give them all their business.... everyone!I almost forgot, Moe (their orange tabby) is the sweetest cat.

I always have a good time when I go in there. I dont always buy something because there is so much to look at. And if Im just standing nearby while another customer is being helped, I learn just by listening to what theyre discussing. A lot of knowledge and a lot of good information is shared.Need guidance on film cameras, or something for students in a photography course? Chuck is super knowledgeable and helpful with any and all camera needs. I used to come here as a novice in high school and continue to hold it in high regards. Chuck sells top quality equipment at rock bottom prices. I got my Nikon for the price of a good lens.

Chuck is just awesome. I got my first dslr from Chuck 10 years ago and I cant imagine going anywhere else. He is a Louisville icon and priceless source of knowledge. Hes also just a great guy to talk to and know. His shop is like a treasure chest of nostalgia and you never know who you will see when you go in.

Owner was SUPER friendly. This place has SO MUCH to look at I could spend a whole day in there and never see it all. They pretty much deal in all pre-owned product and seems to have one of EVERYTHING.

Id go higher than 5 stars, if theyd let me. My 13 year old daughter is a budding photographer and her aunt (who is also a camera junkie) suggested we take her to see Chuck. SCORE! We worked with both Chuck and Ron and they were awesome. They listened to her, offered suggestions and were always budget concious. One of the best and most informed photography stores in the city. Its always fun to come in the store and pet the shop cat, Moe. Thats honestly the best part of the shopping experience at Chuck Rubins.

Great place to go to find the harder to find older camera models and parts. Chuck is a very nice person and so is the rest of the crew.

Was very iffy about this place at first but after going in and talking to Chuck and feeling like I had a friend who could really help me out with my photography I decided to go with him instead of Murphys. I like supporting local so Im pleased my boyfriend found this place.

I went here to get a softbox and was in total awe - its a great store, theres so much to look at and admire here. The prices are very reasonable. Customer service was pretty good. An overall great experience.

The staff is very well informed and able to explain most anything in detail and in such a way that anyone at any skill level could understand. The amount of stuff in the store is amazing and it’s like going into a candy shop for camera gear.

Great locally owned business. Really nice owners who are also great photographers. Just be aware that parking is in the back and there isnt much of it.

Tried to contact shop 3 times, but always closed when called. they keep very short hours (10-6). when I did get through I was put on hold for a few minutes.. not a great way to start out doing business. so I gave up trying. called over at murphys camera on bardstown. very nice lady helped me out there on the first try. went in the next day and got taken care of.

Lots and Lots film equipment and cameras. Got my 35mm AE-1 and medium format 645 Bronica from there. Great place for finding camera equipment thats no longer made, especially if you are weary of internet/ebay for lenses and etc. Chucks a camera hoarder; also, just go to the shop... :) Quality depends on what you are looking for; if youre picking something up from the early 1900s used, what did you expect? Service, you wouldnt put down a $300 bet in a game of poker if you didnt know how to play. So have an idea of what you want (recommendation).
