What an amazing Louisville owned business. Went into the store looking for specialty knives my son could use as a present and also found scissors for left-handed people. I inquired about putting my sons name on the purchase and they offered to do it for no charge! Where do you find it kind of customer service and value these days? What a great group of people and a great business. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this place. But we purchased an expensive knife that does not keep its edge.

This long-time family business is a local treasure. The personal sharpening and repair service is outstanding and the focussed product selection is unmatched in the area. We use them whenever a knife needs sharpening beyond our ability or a repair and patience has always been rewarded.

They are so friendly and helpful at the store. Hes a great craftsman.

I had driven about an hour and a half with a friend to get our knives sharpened properly, particularly since my knives are worth several hundred dollars and I need to keep the edge right, especially since Im using them a lot every day. I arrived several hours before closing not knowing that he tries to have knives sharpened for chefs within 1-2 business days, which is very fair, but because we had come so far, he was able to squeeze them in and get both mine and my friends sets of knives done within a couple of hours. Very nice of him to go out of his way for us, and the knives were sharpened very well!

Wonderful service and knowledge about the products! I went in today to buy a real razor for my husband and they were very knowledgeable and helped me with everything. Theyve been in business 150 years in Louisville, KY and it shows.

I have bought knives from Heimerdinger since 1982, and theres no way Ill let anyone in town sharpen them other than this place. As a professional chef, I tried doing it myself and nearly ruined some expensive blades. Even used a mobile knife service that was just dreadful. Heimerdinger, however, not only made them good as new, some of my knives, Wustoffs and Henckels among them, were better than new after being sharpened and polished here. I cant say enough good things about this shop. Trust your knives to no one else.
