Had to take out a shark loan to pay for the $700 repairs. This store would not stand behind their work 3 months after I got the instrument back after covid began!!! They also deleted my first review.... CAN YOU RENAME THE STORE SHADY ACRES???????? Reputation IS SHOT...NEVER AGAIN

Ive always sent my students to Miles because I know he is going to take care of them. I appreciate very much the amazing customer service that he created at his store. I just got the news that Miles Ahead is now has been taking by a different brand. Crossing my fingers that customer service culture and the flexibility that Miles had with customers continues.

Im a very satisfied customer of Miles Ahead Music! Im a professional musician who lives in Nashville and Im happy to make the 6 hour round trip drive to Louisville in order to bring my business to Miles Ahead Music. Ive purchased two new instruments from Miles Ahead Music including most recently a new Yamaha Custom Z tenor saxophone. Ive been delighted with the outstanding customer service and exceptional talent in the instrument repair and tech department. Staff was great. Company just got bought out. They dont sell or buy used instruments. And if you want no interest payments you have to make sure you come the month that they offer it. Company has a fluctuating finance policy. 0% some months. Percent financing others. I was told they didnt have payment options and found out they did the following month. Unfortunately, I didnt know that and bought the month was off. When I called about it, they said there was nothing they could do. I should have gone to Conrad.

Great customer service, we were helped by Adam. He explained everything very clear and nicely. Definitely recommend this place specially if you are a Mom like me that knows nothing about musical instruments.. great place !!!

Nice shop to rent student instruments from. They have good quality instruments but are a little more expensive than some others in town. We felt like it was worth it. They also have private lessons although we didnt take them there.

Miles does great repair work. He has done a full overhaul of my professional flute using Straubinger pads, but has also worked on antique instruments, for instance repairing a broken foot joint on a 200+ year old wooden flute. Beautiful work.

Miles Ahead music went above and beyond any other music store I have worked with in the past. Trevor stayed in contact with me and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. When I walked in everything was ready to go, he never showed me anything outside of my price range and was exceedingly helpful throughout the entire process. The entire staff is wonderful and I will definitely be back again!

Miles Ahead serves all kinds of musicians at all levels of experience and ability. I primarily use their instrument repair and maintenance services. Though I dont live in Louisville, I make the pilgrimage from Cincinnati to Miles Ahead whenever I need work done on my clarinet. I havent trusted anyone but Miless technicians since they did an overhaul on my R13 several years ago. They do really stellar work.

Weve been very pleased with the service here. Knowledgeable staff and friendly. Weve purchased two instruments here and will come back if we ever need another.

I went here once and I had asked Miles for a recommendation for a baritone saxophone reed and he said to get Rico 2.5 and try them out, they were complete popsicle sticks and had a horrible tone, that time was a money trap. My friend also had a bad experience there when he was buying a silverstein cryo 4 ligature and they had given him a fake lig. most things are overpriced and they dont sell reeds individually.
