4 people behind the counter. 2 waiting on the same person. 1 would not look up and even acknowledge us. Other on the side and acted like we were not standing there finally someone came in from the warehouse and came right over to help. Then the other employees looked over like they just noticed us. Terrible customer service from employees in blue shirts. The guy in the black shirt from warehouse was great.

Mc Cabes is a stand up company. Ive heard comments about their pri ss being higher but trust me,after being around the lumber and wood industries for 35 years Ican say with confidence the the quality of material that they offer is hivher than what you will find at the big box stores. Even thru the lumbdr shortage when I was working thru a very large deck project the percentage of cost increase was less with them than with others.

Would have been a better experience if Alex (the one they call Buddy) worked on his social skills. He shouldnt go around acting like a mall cop. The two younger guys were great. I dont believe(buddy) should be around the public.

I purchased a special order entry door for my condominium. I have guidelines that need to be followed, i.e, color, design, etc. I confirmed an order for a brown/wood look door in October for $1500 (not including installation). McCabe had the installer measure for purchase. After measuring the door the final cost was more than quoted. 90 days pass and a GREY door arrives and the door is damaged. The threshold doesnt cover the tile gaps inside or out. Salesman Troy Callahan, was contacted and assured the new door would cover the gaps. Troy requested 12 photos be taken with a tape measure to assure the new door threshold would cover. The new door would be arriving in 6-8 weeks and when installed my entry door would look new and complete. Door installed early March and the attached photos are the finished product. I contacted McCabes owner, Jerry Tepe regarding the communication or lack of, for the past 6 months. The finished product is not FINISHED with gaps in the floor, nicks on the drywall, etc. Jerry spent 2 phone calls placing blame on the installer and NEVER took responsibility for Troys incompetence or to even try to make the customer satisfied. If ordering a door from Troy Callahan or Jerry Tepe make sure you are a SME or better yet dont buy from McCabe Lumber. You make the determination on the final photos of the finished product. This is what $3000 will buy you from McCabes.

Told them I was newer and need some help. They decided to be a predator and tried to take advantage of me. Wanted $500 for some basic lumber. Got it for $195 20 minutes down the road. Scammers.

Great place to buy building materials. We purchased all materials to build our deck from McCabe lumber. The salesman Tyler did a great job helping us decide what all we needed based on the rough design of our deck and helped walk us through exactly what to purchase as well as what our options were. It was great not having to worry about them being pushy or anything and it was a great experience. If we do any other buildings in the future I believe we will seek out McCabe to get our materials. Again a great place to go for almost all building materials.

Tim has been an awesome resource to help order the various TimberTech materials and Trex railing, brackets, lights etc. we selected to build my deck. He has been extremely helpful throughout the process and responsive on emails. Plus their inventory is much better than the big box stores closer to me like Lowes & Home Depot... it has been worth the extra hour long drive for me :D

They are not cheap, but had what I needed. Very efficient order and pickup.Edit: and I should add the lumber I bought was top quality, straight and true.

I ran out of screws for compulsive decking And did not need to buy the hidden fasteners just Need ed some screws So they give me what they foundAnd for building material they carry a lot of stuff They can use to build a house

Very poor customer service here. They did not want to take care of issues with their product, they delivered boards of different thicknesses, I understand mistakes happen. The said this happens often, my first thought then would be to measure before delivering.... Instead of making excuses offering no discount for delaying my deck I now have to wait another week for the boards and take an additional vacation from work to complete this job. The manager never returned my phone calls I had to call every day about the 4th day I get a call back. They will help you all they can to get the sale but do not care about your product or you in general only your money, I would recommend another place, anyone can be nice to sell products...

Best quality lumber you will find here. You will not get that at big box stores.Prices are reasonable. Counter help is always friendly and ready to help you. The guys that load your lumber are really good guys, they all go out of their way to load your lumber and even put read flags and my 20ft long boards. You guys are the best. Our deck builder purchased 88 decking boards from McCabe. Within 4 years the pressure treated boards starting rotting. I reached out to McCabe and their/vendor assistant amounted to replacement of 15 boards. I asked for all to be replaced and I would do the pickup installation myself. Their response was that I had to file a claim with the vendor. Seems to me the vendor would be more receptive to respond with the lumber company who purchases $$100,000’s of wood versus me. And where’s the customer service aspect or is it BUYER BEWARE. And once products leave their building your on your own.

McCabe rocks! Polite staff. Forklift operators are super fast. All around great service.

Please do not waste your time or money with them. We ordered rough cedar for a project and when the carpenter started working the boards were not straight, the post was cracked more than half way down they proceed to tell us that they could not do anything for us as it was natural and part of the products character. We have used them a couple times in the past, just no longer in the future.

Every time I go there, its a good experience. I started dealing with Steve Proud years ago and that kept me coming back. He received a promotion and in stepped Matt Wilkes and we didnt miss a beat. Quite frankly, everyone has been great every time i go.

Have different Woods that other places dont have

Purchased ONE 1x4x12 board. I sent one of my young guys to do the pick up. He drove from Dayton Ohio because I needed a specialty piece of lumber from McCabe as well as another pick up in the area. When the board got back to me, it had a 4 inch gash at the end of the board. I understand this happens, but I would not think they would let one board go that looks like this. I would understand if it was in a large bundle. I called them to see if there was anything they would do. Nothing. Needed to drive the hour back.

C G is a crock. Just attempting to tarnish a good companies name. This company-- more specifically the owners are incredible! Theyre helpful, generous and all about customer service. Theyre not only INCREDIBLE to their customers, but theyre amazing towards their employees. This is the company for you in regards to your lumber needs! Their designers and architects are diligent, and hard working. Sales team is attentive, helpful, and informative. Theres nothing better than shopping at a family owned company with great customer service!

They do not return phone calls or emails. They make no effort to fill backorder items. They do not notify you when materials that you need are available in the store. Defective materials must be returned by the customer. This happened twice to me.When you walk in, you are priority!They will make every effort to make you happy.First they didnt believe me that there was a problem with the decking, then they wouldnt help with the railing until I returned it to them.P.S.Steve Billingsly did a great job trying to help with our issues. He did go above and beyond to try to rectify our frustration. The problem of unreturned phone calls were with our original sales person and part of that problem is his schedule did vary.

I am an Interior Designer. Some of our clients are wanting new decks, screened in porches, and other outdoor upgrades. When I went to McCabe Lumber to get further educated on the products. I was not let down. They have great customer service and are very informative when explaining about the many different products available. I learned a lot and will always bring my clients to them when I can!

Purchased deck lumber and iron railing (approx. $5k). Shopped around before making decision to go with McCabe. Prices were highest but was willing to pay for perceived convenience of location, availability of product, quality and knowledgeable staff. Terrible disappointment. The buying experience was o.k.--had a newish sales person so the transaction and information wasnt as smooth as we had hoped. BUT, it all fell apart when the lumber delivered wasnt the lumber we ordered. The Sales Manager and the Owner were condescending, experts at double talk, gave false information and refused to accept responsibility for the mess up. It wasnt until I brought in outside assistance that the problem was resolved somewhat. One of the worst customer service experiences to date and that is saying a lot. They wasted days of my time and that of my contractor.

The team at McCabe Lumber is awesome. I love going in there and troubleshooting with them. I am proud of the improvements weve made to my home.

One of the best lumber yards around, Im a contractor and hate to use the box store lumber yards because of the bad quality of the lumber.

Extremely disappointed and uncomfortable by the haphazard mask wearing here by the sales department. Many associates wearing no mask at the desk until you step up to them, wearing below their nose. Or wearing a ridiculously small piece of plastic (pointing upward) that literally only covers their lips and provides no protection to customers.

Decks Unlimited partnered with McCabe Lumber as a supplier when they opened in 2001. We are still with them today. Wide selection of products, knowledgeable staff, quality service and a large inventory are the reasons why. If we need something they dont stock, they can usually get it within a few days.

This is a great, local store to get materials for many home upgrade projects. Staff is helpful and the products they sell are high quality and competitively priced.

Evan has been very helpful in helping us pick out an entrance system that will fit in our undersized rough opening. We are still hopeful.

Very rude customer service said they couldnt return 2x6 deck boards so we went to pick up the 12 boards they wouldnt return only to find 5 of them this business is very shady and I would highly reccomend avoiding them if you need lumber go elsewhere because the guys down there will take advantage of you and try to screw you over.
