Great gear and the ski lease for kids is such a great deal.

Decent little shop. Seems like they have some good stuff. Only downside is that there is no back inventory; so if you find something you like, you will have to wait for it to come in or just buy it online. Back inventory was one reason for a star taken off, the other was the service, while it wasnt bad I dont think it was exceptional, I feel that with todays climate for brick and mortar/online retail stores that the brick and mortar stores really need to step up on the service when customers are in the store, otherwise I might as well just order it from my couch.Anyways, on a positive note. Like I said before decent little shop. Check them out!

The experience was exceptional! Sales expert Mitch spent 2 hours with me trying to find the perfect ski boots. Even when the store has closed, we spent an additional half an hour to go through one more pair and Mitch gave me all the time until I am confident in the purchase. One of the best sales experts I’ve met in my shopping experience so far. Good variety of ski boots and very good discounts on some of the items. I’ve got exactly what I wanted (Fischer boots as they are the official dealer of Fischers). Will come back for other ski related purchases!Recommending Mitch, very knowledgeable and top customer service!

We purchased a kayak and it arrived damaged. Vertical Drop said that is unfortunate but they will not do anything about it.They also take days to respond to email and their voicemail is full. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!!!

Vertical drop is a fantastic place for snow sports gear! Knowledge staff that can help with fitting and questions. They have a nice selection in stock to choose from too. Only reason Im not giving a 5 star is because prices can be kind of high compared to other (online) retailers with similar items. But if online shopping isnt your thing, this is the place to go!Edit: they price match! 5 stars for a great place!

First I would like to say. Do not buy from this store! I ordered a kayak 2 months ago. Everytime I inquired about my purchase. I was told 2 more weeks. After the 4th time I called I was told a week. When the week was up. I called back and was told they dont know when they will get my kayak. I ordered the kayak for the summer. Summer is almost over! I paid almost $1200 for the product. I canceled my order. They acted like they didnt even care. Im a very patient person. But after 2 months and many excuses my patience wore thin. I live in northeast Pennsylvania. The only reason I ordered from them was my cousin lives down the road from their store. He told me this was the place to order from. But after all the bs and their I dont care attitude neither of us will ever shop here again. All they had to do was act like they cared. Im very disappointed. I really wanted that kayak. I could have bought a kayak on multiple occasions from other stores I was at. But I didnt. After wasting the whole summer counting on Vertical Drop Im going to have to wait till next summer to get on the water. Here is some constructive criticism for Vertical Drop. When a customer spends a bunch of money with you. And you know they are annoyed. Offer a discount on a future purchase or throw in a an item to keep the customer happy. Had you done so. I might have overlooked the bs. Then we both would have made out. My cousin and I spend a lot of time outdoors and so do our friends. Until now we both threw your name around. Your lack of customer care may have cost you more than 2 customers!!!

Vertical Drop is by far the best place in southern Ohio for ski gear. I appreciate that the knowledgeable staff always makes me feel comfortable choosing what gear is best for me and my family.

Cant say enough good things about this place. My first trip there was in January and the store was set up for winter sports but I was looking for a kayak. The manager, Chris was happy to uncover and pull a kayak out of storage so I could look at it. He informed me of an upcoming sale at the Cincinnati boat show a couple of weeks later. I ended up buying 2 kayaks before the store was even switched over for kayak season. They were very accommodating for my purchases even though they were still in winter mode. Theyre helpful, laid back and treat customers in a way thats hard to find these days.

We live in Ohio, so skiing is not really a thing. With that being said, they are great!

Great boutique outdoor sports shop. Best paddle sport shop in Cincinnati tri state area. Paddle staff are extremely knowledgeable and are able to meet all levels of kayakers needs. Shop flips to ski & snowboard in the fall. Excellent selection of hardgoods and softgoods. Expert boot fitters, my wife tried on 12 different pairs of boots, staff was so patient and worked to get the fit right. Fun spot to visit in olde Loveland.

Great service from a knowledgeable staff and a fair price for the boots I bought.After talking to one of the managers on the phone this place seemed like a good bet. I walked in with the intent to buy boots at, or below, my price point and in very short order did just that. As an engineer I can be a horribly tedious customer (I know this so I try and avoid being a know-it-all). It didn’t take long for me to understand the fellow (Davey, I believe) fitting me for boots knew his trade so I let him run the process.An added bonus it that this shop is only one of two and not a big box franchise.

I walked in knowing only rental gear, and walked out informed on every piece of gear I inquired about. Super helpful, non-intimidating atmosphere.

Just went there to get fitted for boots and skis. The sales guy was extremely knowledgeable and didn’t push us to buy the most expensive items, but the ones that work best for us!

This place is great if you’re looking for t shirts or skateboards. The new location is extremely small, and had a wonderful selection of yetis and skateboards. Love skate boarding, love cold drinks, but I traveled 50 mins to “vertical drop” a place I thought specialized in winter sports goods not tredny apparel. Might need to rethink their advertising. The old location had way more options for people who actually snowboard and ski. Sorry to give a bad review just aggravating to not get what you expect from a store having been there many times at the old location.

I bought my first snowboard and boots here. They do an excellent job sizing you up and getting you exactly what you need. Its pretty pricey though but you get what you pay for.

We LOVE the Fischer Vacuum Ski Boots. They feel better than any ski boots we have ever owned. Both of us have them and you could not find a friendlier and more accommodating staff anywhere. We will be back!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!

This is a very nice, small store. I’ve had very good experiences here in the past. More recently (2019) not so much.

I was wanting to put no stars. To stuck-up. Horrible service. Never wanted to take the time to talk with me about what I drove a long way to purchase. Never wanted to show me the snowboard pucks that he had for sale. I asked several times. My bindings were too low brow for this shop. Way to drive away a potential customer. Never go here to drop cash. Go somewhere will that cares for the customer. This is a place that overcharges for poor customer service. I have been here before and was turned away then too. Never go here. Too snooty. Never again will I go here. I will tell my friends to go to Ski Depot in Lawrenceburg, IN. Never this place.

This store has been lying for 2 years about getting new Ski boots in and I’ve actually been cussed out by their manager about the matter and their awful policies. For two years now they pretend they’re getting new boots in, specifically Dalbellos, theyve ordered some other new ones but no more than 3-4 new sets in two years!! They will also say “oh we put the order in a year ahead of time” they said that last year and every other shop around here has all the new boots, so idk if they just don’t care or if the owner just doesn’t think very hard. He’s also a phantom owner and you can’t talk to him, so I’ve never understood their “local Ski shop” concept. I’ve had a $450 gift card from where I bought boots, took them home, clicked in and knew they didn’t fit right. Once I realized last year they were never going to get boots in, I had to beg to even get a gift card (they wanted to stick me with them) even though I had been calling for a few months bc I was told I could exchange for new boots (which never came). Same deal happened again this year, I waited and waited but not one new pair of boots. One of their employees told me they were clearing out old inventory? I guess that’s worth losing all new boot sales? Doesn’t make sense. And every time I go out there it’s a total waste. This week I drove 40min there bc I was told they still had plenty of men’s mittens in stock. Drove all the way there they had one men’s pair for $90. Total waste of time and they still won’t give me cash back on the gift card bc they literally have nothing to buy there. I never write reviews but this store drives me insane and your aren’t even allowed to speak to the owner so employees just do as there told with little thought mostly bc they’re all young and have no experience from my perspective. Started skiing at age 3 so I have too much experience to deal with this shops bs. They don’t even know how to fit boots or make adjustments to them, no j bars, no baseplates, no nothing. I suggest if you slightly know what you’re doing you don’t go here, very stereotypical ski shop for this area. Store is a total joke and the exact opposite of how you should run a “local” Ski shop. I go out west twice a year and every time I try to blow this gift card, no luck. Could be a couple more years haha.
