Summertime means gelato time! I love this place. The gelato is made in the restaurant and is much better than traditional ice cream. The inside is very, very, nice. This is my go to lunch place when Im in Loves Park for work.

Owner and staff are always making your visit the best experience ever. I love the turkey Panini with cranberry brie spread. Tasted coconut gelato today and it was very refreshing.

Ive been here twice and each time was better than the last. I love how comfortable it feels. Each time I was helped by (I assume) the owner and he is very friendly. The flavors are all homemade and VERY delicious. Im 8 months pregnant and this is my go to for ice cream.

Very delicious ice cream, and the ice coffee and food are good too. Its very clean and quite even though its next to a big intersection, and they have good service. They have muffins but I didnt try any but maybe I will next time I come back. I like that they have indoor and outdoor sitting.

The place looks like an old taco bell but the Gelato was actually really good. The owner of the location told me that everything was made in shop so I really appreciate that. You cant go wrong with this location I would go back here again.

They have a good selection of gelato and let you try them. Also on the menu is a few pastry type goodies. It would be a good place to stop for coffee and a snack. The interior is very up to date. I have been there twice so far and have not had a bad experience.

The staff here are VERY friendly and helpful! I went in just to see what the place was about and ended up staying to chat for a while. The owner is all about freshness and you can tell that he loves all the hard work he put into the place! I will definitely be back and would recommend anyone to check it out

The Gelato and the Cones are delicious. Well definitely come back to try their coffee and panini. They have a very tempting array of choices. The staff is really friendly. I love the ambience here.

Carambola is amazing! Their gelato is unlike anything else in the area. The staff is always super friendly and helpful.

My wife & I stopped in yesterday to give this place a try. The staff was very friendly. We both tried two scoops in cups. The gelato was excellent and we would be willing to go back again to try something different or have coffee. I do have two recommendations and they are the reason for the three star review. First, the two scoops were put in tiny cups. As soon as it melts it turns into a mess and runs down the sides. Second, the spoons provided are very cheap and bend/flex when you try to scoop it out. This combined with the tiny serving cups is annoying. Invest in quality spoons and larger serving cups. It would make this a five star review.

First time here and the gelato was so good! The gentleman behind the counter was so nice and helpful!! Their affogato is like heaven in a cup! Cant wait to come back and try more of their menu

I am so glad I found this place. They have a good selection of desserts, gelatos and coffees. The service was great. I was able to sample several gelatos before making my selection. This was a good place to study. They had instrumental jazz playing at a sound level, good enough to enjoy the music, and to focus on your work. I had a conversation with the owner and he mentioned that Carambola opened last year, but he had to close it due to construction on the road that affected his business and others nearby. He just re-opened it about two months ago. I encourage eveyone in the area to come check it out!

Dont let looks fool you, this place is amazing. Creatively delicious sandwiches, and mouth-watering gelato. Like wow. Super friendly service, definitely will be coming back repeatedly!!!!!!

I had a Chicken and Pesto Panini and it is delicious!😋👍Also, they are fast, I ordered to go and I was out In minutes.

After supper, my wife and I wanted to treat ourselves to some gelato and fresh-brewed coffee at the new Carambola. The gelato is outstanding. The Carambola latte was pleasantly strong and flavorful. Tried the salted caramel and cookies n cream flavors and loved them. We will be back!

Some of the smoothest and best tasting gelato Ive had. Friendly people, great food. I had the affogato (gelato in a shot of espresso) and it was delicious. I missed having them and this was perfect.

This place was awesome the guy was really friendly and the gelato was some of the best gelato I have tried it was creamy and even with the portion size (which is a descent size for gelato) was definitely filling. I will definitely be coming back.

Definitely worth the visit. The gelato is delicious and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. The cannolis are also great and you can tell theyre homemade and fresh. Enjoyed the espresso drinks as well. Everything was delicious, the service was great, and I will definitely be going there again soon!

They just opened up and I couldnt be happier. I get my morning coffee here and occasionally my evening coffee as well. Try the Carambola Creation and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and try the Affogato. A scoop of creamy gelato with a shot of espresso over the top. I get one after work to power me through the evening.

I stopped in to get a small treat this evening and I ordered a scoop of mint chip gelato and cookies and cream. I just loved it. The people were so friendly and the casual atmosphere a welcome relief to overwhelming environments. I found out the name means Starfruit! Great place. Highly recommend. Sandwich was soso. But I wanted mustard...none. M y husbands Italian had a meager amount of meet on it. But the gelato was perfectly fabulous.

Absolute rip off. I would not even star this location if it didn’t make me offer 1 star. Extremely overpriced and tiny tiny portions of gelato ($3.50 a small single child size portion of gelato). I have no idea how this establishment will stay in business.

A friend and I had been planning to go to Carambola for a while and we finally got a chance to go. It was worth the wait. Its a clean and inviting atmosphere with more choices for food than I expected (paninis, pastries, espresso), but we went to try the gelato. Delicious! Plenty of flavors to choose from, all freshly made in house, and free samples if youre not sure what you might like. The staff were all very friendly and the owner, Fred, even took time from his busy schedule to sit down with us and explain the process of making gelato and how it differs from regular ice cream. A BIG difference from many other restaurants where you are pushed through like an assembly line and no one even smiles at you. This place was a lot of fun and were looking forward to going back. Highly recommended!!

The gelato here is AMAZING!!! Its actual gelato, and rivals any gelato I had in Europe.The staff is very friendly, and truly care about the quality of their craft!I would HIGHLY recommend this place!

The Gelato is delicious....Ok this is an update. I went 3 more times. I tried Lemon sorbet, and chocolatet hazelnut. They are really good. If you are more into granita try the passion fruit(Maracuya).

We found this place on accident on our way to your common stand-outside-in-a-line-for-soft serve-with-nowhere-to-sit-and-eat it-kind of place. This place has wonderful gelato at a reasonable price and an extensive menu full of coffee-based drinks and paninis. We tried the Italian panini and the turkey with cranberry and brie panini, both were delicious. The granitas were more of a well done slushy, not over sweet and very refreshing on a very hot day. I finished with a affogato, which I will always get if I see it on a menu. That. Is. Something. Ill. Crave.A comfortable seating area, clean environment, and air conditioning completed my excellent experience.

Oh my gosh! This place is awesome! Several unique gelato flavors to choose from and were told the flavors will change frequently. The gelato was smooth, flavorful and light. Wide range of coffee choices fron drip to espresso to latte and back. They also have tea, pop, juice, muffins, cannoli, and panini. Staff was very friendly and eager to please. Prices are very reasonable!
