The truck was fine and the employee was helpful when we picked up the truck in Lowell. But we wanted to use our phones to rent and return but had problems both times. It should have taken about 5 minutes to return the truck but ended up taking about 40 minutes because the pictures just wouldnt load, very frustrating. Maybe have a strong wifi signal that customers can access to make the transaction easier?

I showed up for my scheduled appointment and the guys were scrambling to try to accommodate. They had to call their manager for guidance.The reason this is 2 stars is because while the workers tried their best but her be there in 10 minutes turned into 2.5 hours of waiting. This was unreasonable.They eventually got my hitch on. I was told incessantly that corporate shouldnt have booked me. Im a customer. I called the number and made an appointment. If their system is faulty, fix it, dont make me feel bad for only doing what I was told.The workers were great. The manager is disrespectful and what job allows you to ignore your workers and roll in at 11:30?Uhaul at Lowell, they do. Sigh.

The van was great, receptionists were wonderful when I went.My experience was excellent until the last minute when I returned the van. I waited into the designated area where there is Stop sign. Nobody came out. So, I thought that probably none is there as it is a weekend. I parked the van and was going towards the reception to return the key. That time a U-Haul guy suddenly appeared and started yelling at me for not waiting for him at stop.I was explaining him that I waited and none was there. However, he continued to yell at me, did not try to listen to me all. That last part was absolutely a disgusting customer service. It was awful and disrespectful.This last minute awful experience turn my overall experience to a 2 star rating from a 5 star rating.This should be addressed. One such bad employee is enough to ruin your reputation.

One of the female employees was completely rude before I even got out of the car. I parked my in front of the store to bring out a box I was attempting to exchange but automatically the employee came out and gave us a direct look and rolling her eyes at us while waving us to get out. She could have simply asked us to move our car but instead she was dismissive and very passive aggressive. This is not how employees should do business

The worst customer experience. They slapped me with a bunch of unjustified fees after reviewing the final receipt. Bottom line: Take à picture of the fuel gauge at return, review the price in the contract for refill (they charged me $4.5 per gallon instead of $3.5 in the contract. Though I returned it 3/4 the same level I picked it up), drop it of the next day if you’re done after hour, otherwise they will slap you with $20 for dropping off the key in the box.In short, the worse customer experience.

This was the worst experience ever! I paid online for a hitch to be installed and went to the appointment and the guy working says the installer called out sick and I have to reschedule... instead of calling your appointments he just lets them come in to be turned away.. then I come back and get there and he then tells me they don’t have the hitch yet and it could take a month.... first I drug two kids out in the cold one being a new baby and-arranged transportation both times for us only to be turned away twice. And he has the nerve to say I was so busy I couldnt call anyone and my manager saw yesterday that it wasn’t here yet... ok but she didn’t call me to tell me so I didn’t drive 40 minutes and waste time!!!! Terrible customer service!!!!

Arrived on time to pick up a truck I had confirmed the day before. Was told they didn’t have it with no logical explanation. They say they are not responsible for letting you know ahead that they don’t have your truck. Was stranded waiting for a ride for 1 hr. Waste of time and energy.

Check everything and take a photo of everything if you are going to rent in this place, rent a 10 giving them the keys without verifying or taking photos trusting them that they would not have done it, I delivered the truck with the tank full and clean and they charged me $25 of clean, supposedly they have photos and they did not want to show them to me, they always look for a way to charge you more, do the best to take photos and do not trust the employees of this place.

Worst Uhaul! I paid for on 8/5 and got an appointment for hitch installation on 8/13 at this location. On reaching this place, the person there says they dont do install till labor day. Later she says the part is not there. Then she says i did a big mistake by ordering/booking online. This is least expected and worst. She says she tells all customers that contacting uhaul.com and uhaul on phone is big mistake. She meant to say local office should be contacted. Despite not honoring the confirmed appointment, she even accuses not only me but all customers this way!!!

It was busy since we it was the weekend and the end of the month. I forgot to rent something in advance so we just stopped in, they didnt have anything for that day but we reserved something for the next day. The actual process was fast, easy and convenient, they are very busy so plan on waiting even if you have a reservation and bring your patience since I feel that they may often be understaffed. My interactions were good and our van was in clean good working condition.

Review date 11-9-2018Manager (?) was inconsiderate.Only parking is on Busy side-street. : (When I returned truck his sidekick took the keys and announced that I was “All set”.We were Not being waited on in the order we came in. I Replaced fuel I used. Then they tried to charge me $8.50 for fuel.Mgr ‘couldn’t’ fix my bill. So, I now have 2 receipts. I said I’d like my total.He started counting on his fingers.He also suggested I defraud the IRS by Not showing my tefund slip. : (

DO NOT GO TO THIS U-HAUL LOCATION. I have never been treated with such contempt in my life. the staff are nice but the manager is rude and unhelpful. Also the U-haul guaranty is not a real guaranty when they didnt have a the trailer I reserved I was told I could pay full price for a large truck (which would cost more then 3x what I ordered) or I could have $50, the money wont help when I have to be out of my apartment that day. I will be using Penske in the future they were helpful and offered me a discount for the trouble U-haul gave me.

Really, really bad process for picking up a rental truck.Even during the busiest part of the rental season, they only have ONE person manning the desk AND that same person also brings the truck up for the customer. Long, slow, winding lines to get to the front desk are the result.Ive rented twice here and, in both instances, waited about an hour to get checked in. And customers are clearly grumbling to each other about the insanity of the process, yet the desk person doesnt make any effort to apologize for the massive delay. Although he seemed like a perfectly nice guy, it would have been nice to hear something along the lines as Sorry for the delay everyone.. Ill make sure to work through this line as fast as possible. Thanks for your patience.In speaking with others who are familiar with management, they are short-staffed by choice and not because, for example, someone called in sick. Seems like the customer experience gets dropped way down the priority list that has profit margins at the top.

Let me share my experience. I am an Assistant Professor at Umass Lowell. I rented a Uhaul from here for 48 hours to move from Boston to Lowell. I returned it after 36 hours (no problems at all).A week later when I looked at my credit card I had an overage charge of $216. I called to inquire why and they informed me it was for the additional 13 days I kept the rental truck over the original 48 hours.I informed them this was absolutely not the case and they referred me to the manager in order to settle the dispute.7 days, over 20 phone calls, over 10 messages left with staff at the desk, calls to the national company - no word from the manager and a refusal to engage with me.So I did the only thing I could and went to the credit company to refund me the charge.Now (6 months later) - I have just received an email from their debt collector asking for the $216 I owe.Disgusted and shocked.

Reserved a van for 3:00 the following day. When I arrived there was no van. Finally after waiting we a long time they offered the larger truck at the same price. I was not told that the milage charge was double. Called the General Manager (so he claimed) to dispute. He said I accepted the larger truck so oh well. Very poor customer service and I feel I was taken advantage of. If I could do NO stars I would as well. Beware!!!!!!!!

This has to be the worst U-Haul place ever. I rented a car trailer one week in advance. I got an email with my confirmation plus a second email confirming the location has the car trailer reserved. I went to go pick up the car trailer on my lunch break and once I got there the person behind the counter informed me that he has no car trailer. I gave him my reservation number. He was able to find my reservation but still told me he doesnt have a car trailer. he also told me he hasnt had one in months. last time they had to locate one in Rhode Island. He then proceeded to tell me I have to find another uhaul location that would have the car trailer. I thought it was their job to locate another location who would have the car trailer. Rudest people over at this Middlesex location. I will never rent with uhaul ever again. I have used U-Haul numerous of times but this ended my business with them.

This Uhaul located on Middlesex St in Lowell didnt provide self-pickup service even though I was able to do so online hence I had to wait inline for my turn. Good thing was I only waited for 15 on a gloomy Saturday. Also during my online reservation I denied the insurance option but when I got in store, they put the charge of $14 there. It was my bad that I didnt check it until driving home. Overall, its an OK service.

Avoid at all cost... manager Al is rude and unprofessional, started to yell at me to leave the store because I didnt book my Van for 24 hours like I needed to ..I made a mistake online and booked it for 4 hours .Instead of helping me find a solution he threatened to blacklist me if I didnt return the Van on time and told me to leave his store right away because he didnt believe that I was gonna bring the van back on time. To top it off there was a line of customers behind me waiting to get serviced by this guy. Unreal

Worst customer service iv ever experienced. Set up as in town when I needed one way tried to charge me an additional 260 dollars and wouldnt admit to their mistake After I set it up as one way over the phone. I called customer service and they hung up on me and when I called back to speak with the manager he refused. Ive worked in customer service my whole life and not once did I ever treat a customer with the utter disrespect they treated me with. If I could give 0 stars I would. And this was after they told me they had the trailer in a different location and didnt. The manager changed my reservation never told me I wouldnt be able to drop off anywhere ( which is why I went to uhaul instead of renting a trailer from someone I know ) I even payed for the insurance just to have them f*** me in the ass with it. If you can, avoid U-Haul Lowell or avoid U-Haul in general. I recently sold my car and told the buyer that I would drop of the car. I reserved a Truck and an Auto-transport and specifically asked them if someone could help me or at least guide me putting my car on the - AT; the customer rep said yes. I set up the time and everything with the buyer, took a day off from work.I go to U-Haul Lowell and there is no one there except some customers waiting. This guy called Brian comes out after 10 mins and deals with them for another 10 mins, I have been waiting for almost 20 mins by now. Finally I got to tell him about my reservation, after 5 mins of checking my credentials and what not, I asked him is someone could guide me how to put everything together. Brian plainly said no, I was surprised. I explained the situation and told him that someone assured me from U-Haul that I would get some help. He said, and I am not exaggerating, I cant help you, either take it or you can leave. This Brian dude was so cool about his behavior it was almost like someone was forcing him to do the job.It took me another 3 hrs trying to talk to someone who could get me a truck and an AT. I literally talked to seven people from U-Haul, bouncing from one department to another and after 3 hours of talking I finally got a reservation in Nashua. After I went there, it was another 40 mins, they could not figure out and confirm my reservation properly. It was a huge waste of my time! This was my first and last time using U-Haul.

Uhaul contract #20699870. I picked up my truck last Sunday at 11am. There was a 45 minutes wait to actually pick up the truck even though I used “express check in”. There was only one person running the register. The parking lot is way too small to handle the amount of trucks they have so they are constantly moving trucks around. While I was there they were searching for a lost set of keys to a truck that was blocking many other trucks. This took 20 minutes. Also, there is ZERO parking for customer cars at this location. On top of all of this, I was incorrectly charged for two days and have not received a refund or a response to my email. This is by far the worst Uhaul place I’ve ever been to and will push me away from ever using Uhaul in the future.

Horrible experience. Rented and Paid for a truck 3 weeks before we wanted to move. Called the day before to check what time they opened and see if my truck and trailer were there and ready when they told me No they weren’t and they don’t know where I can pick up my truck and trailer but they def didn’t have it and couldn’t get it. I Ended up having to go to Salisbury to get them. Then the trailer we had tire blew out, and we were on hold for 15mins with roadside assistance then had to wait a hr and half just for someone to come fix the tire, the truck leaked coolant also and we had to keep refilling. Remind you we were moving 1200miles away, you think they’d check out everything before letting us go. After I moved I tried to return the equipment to its destination on the paperwork and they said they can’t accept it they’re full so I had to find another one to bring it to. I will NEVER rent from uhaul again! Idc if it’s local or what, NEVER AGAIN!

My family recently dealt with Uhaul of Lowell located at 1614 Middlesex Street. We were planning to rent a 5X8 trailer so that I could drive my daughter and her belongings to Colorado. I got the contract for the rental at Uhauls location at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua but unfortunately, when it came to pick the trailer up, we had to go to the Lowell location. As I was out of town at the time, my wife and daughter went to Lowell to pick up the trailer. After pickup, they drove it home. While driving, they found that as soon as they got up to 45 mph or higher, the trailer and the car started shaking and vibrating like crazy. They recorded the sound and sent it to me. There was clearly something wrong (trailer tires imbalanced, broken axle, broken tire band, etc.) with the trailer. My wife and daughter both called the Lowell office many times that day and finally reached a clerk at the end of the day. They told her that they never got any calls or messages from her and that the shaking was normal. I had my wife stop at the Nashua location and ask them about it. The woman there was very helpful and said that it appears something was definitely wrong but as the store was about to close, they could only do something about it the next day. I had her bring it back to Nashua and cancel the contract as the trailer was clearly defective and we did not have time to deal with getting a replacement (which I wouldnt trust anyway). The Nashua store accepted the return as defective but said that only the Lowell office could cancel the contract and issue a refund. It has now been over a week and the Lowell office has not responded to our calls or messages. We spoke to Uhaul Corporate who also have been unable to reach the Lowell office. Corporate gave us the cell number of the manager there and he so far has not answered our calls or messages or Corporates calls. Corporate has also given us the run around saying that the person we need to talk to is either out of the office or busy. They claim he will call us back but so far we have heard nothing.We will be suing Uhaul if nothing happens soon. In the meantime, Uhaul should be ashamed to have dishonest people like this manager and his crew representing their company. They have been nothing but dishonest and unhelpful. On the other hand, Cordan CJ Haveron in the Nashua office has been very helpful. His location put a trailer hitch on my daughters car and they were great to work with. Unfortunately the hitch is now unneeded and turns out to be a waste of $321.Dont rent with Uhaul without checking out the location you are renting from and be sure to check out the equipment very carefully.

Made appointment for 7 am with a 12 pm pick up called at 10 to make sure I could pick up at 12 woman I talked to could not check on my car ( trailer hitch install) and said she was to busy to check . Needless to say it wasnt ready at 12 like I needed and arranged wasnt ready until 330 when I was at my second job already. When I pick it up pins to hold molding on where missing and trunk was a mess.

We rented a truck for the day with a dolly. We didnt finish moving that day, so we figured we would rent another uhaul the next weekend. Things went fine the first time around. They charged $138 up front and the next few days we saw our $100 hold returned on our credit card....So the next weekend we rented the same exact truck( i noticed the same stain on the drivers seat which told me it was the same truck) we also rented another dolly. And we drive less miles than the first time around. We cleaned and sweeped the truck when we finished. We did all the same things as the 1st truck only we drove less miles..We were charged $138 up front. But we noticed we only got back $57 this time on our credit card a few days later...So we called to see what happened only to find out we got charged $1 per mile this time.(This still doesnt add up as we drove under 30 miles total)We asked why did we not get charged for mileage on the first truck we rented that we drove more miles in... The uhaul operator told us she didnt know why... We had her pull up both times we rented and even she couldnt see any difference why we got charge about $50 more the 2nd time rented. She would not refund our money either... We also mentioned for a little more money we could have hired a moving crew to do all the work for us..She still would not budge on our refund for the $100 hold..I even told her if she didnt fix it, I would go all over the internet and give my review on what happened. I dont have to exaggerate. Everything I listed happened and we got robbed by uhaul. So here I am looking out for my fellow consumers with this warning:UHAUL BASICALLY CHARGED US DOUBLE THE 2ND TIME AROUND($80 instead of $38)..STAY AWAY FROM THIS UHAUL. A BUSINESS LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REMAIN IN BUSINESS. THERE IS STILL NO CLEAR REASON WHY THEY CHARGE DOUBLE THE 2ND TIME WE RENTED FROM THEM. The service is terrible and the owner does not care about his customers. My company rented a closed trailer from here and it had gaping holes on the roof. We didnt notice until our electrical equipment was water damaged. The owner did not care a bit, did not offer a refund, and then claimed that the trailer passed a light test which is totally fraudulent.

Terrible server... started out ok and vehicle was in decent condition... but then upon returning the vehicle i had to wait outside at 90 degree 100% humidity for server to return the vehicle for 15+ mins as they talked to their friends about cars.... then moving past that they charged me 6 gallons of gas for a 9 mile total trip... website shows 10mpg city fully loaded... so unless uhaul is using 2 mpg vehicles... there is no way I used that much fuel... to then be charged 22.50$ on top of the rental which they sent me my receipt in the email as they pushed my aside and kept telling me I was all set and didnt need to do anything else as they continued talking with their friends. Very annoying then had to run through hoops to get in touch with someone from customer service.

I rented a van and I was asked to estimate what miles I might be driving, I dont want to guess but the manager said just give me a number and youll only get charged for the actual mileage you use. I said 50miles so he charged my credit card for the daily rental and the 50miles, I brought the van few hours later and I only used 23miles. He said the money will be credited to my account but I havent received it. I called the store and some sales associate says to me thats what they do, Im not getting nothing back because I said I might be doing 50miles so thats what I was charged for. I got ripped off, they are not honest. If they ask you how many miles you might be going, please say one so that way when you bring the truck back theyll charge you for the once you actually use. Ill be writing these negative reviews everyweek for the rest of the year untill I get my money back.

If I could give a negative star Id give the lowell, mass location -6... Customer service was extremely poor, supposedly theres express checkout if you reserve online and here I am in line an hour later.. horrible experience

You should run screaming from this place! Do not do business with this place or uhaul in general. The worst customer service and most incompetent people I have ever come across. Do not let these people touch your vehicle! You will be sorry!
