Only store of its kind in the area. Keep it open! Can you scour the internet for a cheaper price? Probably. If you value customer service, technical expertise, and a unique inventory available locally, get out of your rut and shop local. Great store!

Mountain Hideaway is a true Lubbock gem. Kyle and Misti are a wonderful couple dedicated to running their business the right way and treating their customers like family. They will order absolutely anything you want to try and are always happy to offer advice, work through what you need, or just visit.Kyle is a wealth of product knowledge and is an avid outdoorsman and fly fisherman. I love popping in to visit with the staff and my daughter loves coming in to play with the toys too. This is a wonderful business that caters to its customers and I also appreciate their support of the Lubbock Fly Fishers.I know I speak for them when I say to pop in, grab a cup of coffee or apple cider, and enjoy a little mountain oasis on 50th Street.

While their supply is low on certain camping items just like elsewhere with this COVID deal, the workers are helpful and knowledgeable. I needed fitted for a pack and they took the time to help me find the right size in an Osprey. Plus, they have the sandbags so you can feel what the pack is like with weight.

Mountain Highway is such a jewel of a store. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and always willing to provide true customer service. They excel at listening and providing solutions tailored to my specific needs--an important quality in todays fast-paced culture. Ive appreciated that I can come in after having done my research and get the specific item I need, or come in with questions and talk to a member of staff to find the solution that fits best. The store is always fun to shop, its kid-friendly (my kids love going) and clean. I highly recommend!

Best customer service I’ve ever had!! I bought my first pair of hiking boots and they helped me size, find socks, told me how to avoid blisters, gave me tips for hiking, and helped me with all the hiking “need to knows”. Amazing place. Can’t wait to go back.

Been a customer for a long time. Always great service and selection for the store size. These guys know their stuff and live it.If it werent for them and Gander Id be digging through one of the other stores hoping to find gear and not have to way over pay.

Service was poor, the young men chased money. Just because you walk in off the street . In street clothes does not mean you do not fly fish. I have fished in 35 states, four counties and got paid to fish. I just do not dress to be a fishermen. I have more gear than the store, it strange to watch two fellow chase the customer in Patagonia dress. When it takes the wife to service with three customers in the store and four male workers and two females. I will order my stuff From lesser affluent stores from more fishing areas than Lubbock. This is exactly the read on people think of fly fishermen and snubs. Thanks for adding to the stereotype. You very successful at it.

I went in and was extremely pleased with the staff and the prices. I wanted to get my girlfriend a set of Chaco sandals but they didnt have her size in stock. They were able to special order them for me and they even covered the shipping costs. I will shop local over buying online for my outdoor gear and disc golf needs.

Went there for a simple item (zipper pull). Taken care of immediately, which is typical. Even got a puppy puppy fix! Always enjoy going there.

Absolutely adore Mountain Hideaway. Came in to get some Birkenstocks the other day and they were incredibly sweet and helpful! The atmosphere is calming and there is an abundance of cool goodies to look at.

With all the outdoor shops open one day and gone the next this is a true gem! This is a GEAR GEAR GEAR shop with knowledgable and professional staff who greet you as you walk in. No attitudes! They have a little fly fishing section that in all honesty is HUGE being that there aint much water in lubbock.Great place to spend money! Shop local.
