Cozy place with great coffee and bagels. Tons of flavors to choose from. Staff are very welcoming and polite. Prep area is tiny and very cluttered though, and the bathroom/utility room is filthy. Nice outdoor seating area too.

Went here for lunch. Services and prices are good. I had a turkey sandwich. It was the best turkey sandwich I ever had anywhere. The roasted turkey was so fresh.Cant wait to return to Lynn MA to get another.

Great coffee and sandwiches!! I had the sausage, egg and cheese with the Everything Beagel and it was delicious. Very juicy and the taste makes you want to eat more and more 😍.If you want a place to spend a morning or evening, having a good conversation with a great environment and food AND COFFEE, this is definitely your place!

Excellent service coffee was bomb. Any multitude of flavors combinations you could ask for service was great breakfast sandwich on multigrain bagel was superb. Awesome.

I don’t know. I recently went for the first time after a couple years. I remember enjoying it so i decided to introduce it to my sister and cousin. However, the encounter felt rushed and overall unwanted. Then, our coffees had no taste and full of ice. I don’t usually publicly review a place but i had high hopes and wasn’t satisfied.

I ordered 2 jumbo banana bread coffees and one banana muffin, she handed me only the two coffees and said I was all set, I told her I ordered a muffin too and she completely ignored me and said “please exit through those doors”. I went into the car and saw that she had also charged me for the muffin I asked for that I never received.

Im pretty basic - so I enjoy a good flavored ice coffee thats brewed in the bean now and then. Most places just have syrups which are too sugary and artificial for me.Its hard to find a cafe these days that do flavored coffee brewed in the bean so I was pleasantly surprised when I found Walnut St. Cafe. They staff is nice and very quick. Ive never had an issue with the service or the coffee.My only qualm and suggestion is to switch to a more environmentally-friendly cup. Styrofoam is terrible for the enviornment.

Had a bad experience here, iced coffee used to be really good and the flavor is alright now. I have teeth sensitivity to cold sensations and at most places I go I ask for little to no ice. I came in here asking for iced coffee and with little to no ice. The lady working the front desk said she can’t as the owner doesn’t allow them to. There’s pure ice in my drink and by the time it melts, the flavor and coffee is basically just water. You’d be better off paying $4 for a jumbo equivalent of iced coffee with little to no ice at Starbucks and at least there they customize it to your needs.

I’ve noticed that Walnut St. Cafe has some sort of cult following and I can’t for the life of me understand why. I never feel like this place is worth the money. Way too much ice. It’s a shady business practice to serve your customers more ice than the coffee they’re paying for. They actually prefer the wording “more coffee than ice” upon request for less ice.. for some reason. This is per word of the employees, which just sounds hilarious and makes for a really uncomfortable request — especially if it’s the owner who is working. Do they not realize that wording implies a transaction for a cup of ice? Or do they just not care? You can tell it’s not what the owner wants to hear when you’re ordering. Speaking purely from a quality standpoint, the coffee simply is not good. It’s one-note, tastes like it was left out overnight and then diluted with water. I get the feeling that the excessive amount of flavors they offer and the excessive amount of sugar they use is compensating for a lack of in this regard.I was really trying to decide between two or one star, but the owner has Fox News on every time he’s working — without fail. For this, they get one star. No reason to be promoting misinformation and bigotry by having Fox News on unless you believe in it. This is worth mentioning so that people may have a better idea of who and what their money may be going to.

Thus is such a cute warm place.. it has everything for young old and in between. They have live music and poetry. Open mic. Its a quaint warm environment.. you can play lotto..watch a performance and hust feel like its your own special spot. LOVE IT

Used to love this place. Took forever to get food. People argue with you and are unfriendly. Don’t care about customers. I arrived here at 12 and received not exactly what I ordered so I asked for it to be fixed. I am STILL WAITING for my food. It is now 12:50. Good food but NOT good service.

Walnut Street Cafe is like a home away from home. Their food and coffee is made with love and care and is top notch. The chicken salad is out of this world, I recommend it on toasted rye with lettuce and tomato. Kit kat and almond joy coffees are great as well and so are their several other flavors. The open mic on Sundays here hosted by Red is an awesome place to get heard. The crowd here is a listening crowd. The owner Jim is very involved and wont hesitate to make you a sandwich, coffee and ring you up. He will even bring your food over to you. There is very much a sense of equality and respect at the Walnut street, and I admire the owner for keeping it that way. Thanks guys, you always make me feel welcome.

The only place in the whole city I would recommend going to. They will never make your coffee wrong and it is thoroughly mixed which is the best. The lists of available flavors is huge I spend most of my time in there trying to decide what to even gt. I love it there!

The ice coffee and chicken salad are pretty good. Not enough though to get asked to get up from eating to move your car so the owner could park there. I was asked to move my car across the street so that the owner could take my spot out front. On principal alone, I will not go back there.

New to the area, thought Id check out a local coffee joint, maybe meet some new people. Went there a couple times and the workers and customers seemed pleasant.Was told they had open mic on Sunday nights.When I arrived a bit early, I was greeted outside, while still in my vehicle, by, what I can only assume is the owner, coming across the street to harass me, taking photos of me and my vehicle, and ranting like a paranoid Schizophrenic drug addict.I had litterally done nothing to incite this behavior from anyone, and still have no clue why this was going on.Needless to say I didnt exactly feel wanted, or even safe for that matter.The coffee isnt even good... Its not even as good as gas station coffee. Just came for the environment, which seemed cozy at first, but quickly descended into vile harassment.

Went there for an Open Mic. HIGHLY recommend it for that venue. Delicious coffee. Great atmosphere, and AMAZING talent.

Love the coffee. They workers are generally nice but sometimes some can be a bit rude. They have events going on all the time that are very relaxing, and the serve beer wine and liquor.

Walnut St Coffee used to be nice place to get a coffee n muffin or bagel in the morning instead of Dunkin Donuts (n limited sandwiches at lunch) Ive gone there over the last 10-12yrs n have seen a big change in prices for one and very limited parking if at all? The coffee is nothing special n is way over priced in styrofoam cups that are mostly filled with ice..Its a place for Millennials to go n see n be seen at night they sometimes have a band or poetry reading.

Rude service on more than one occasion.The owner, Jim often works behind the counter and is easily the most rotten apple of the bunch.I came in with 2 other friends to grab an iced coffee, and you would think I was a bum off the street begging for handouts the way he rushes us and reluctantly made our drinks.A separate occasion more recently it was even worse.Early morning with the owner again behind the counter. Rushing me to make my order no less than 10 seconds after walking into the establishment. I committed the capital crime of not calling the cinnamon chip muffin by its full name. I forget what he said,but it was dead rude. When I said, um... he replied with now youre really pissing me off.Ive also seen him drunk ( they serve alcohol and on their open mic nights and often have folky / hippie music acts) drunk and urinating on the side of the building where they keep the garbage. I live close by and saw that on my way to the convience store next door.Theres more than one review here and on yelp about what a jerk the owner is.I made it a point to ask an employee what his deal is when the owner wasnt around on a separate occasion and he said I dont even have enough time to tell you all the times hes been nasty.

I want to like the place, however after they dumped their darkroast the women behind the counter couldnt even tell me what the other roarst was. (That a serious step down in my eyes). The Colombian was very weak as well.Nice vibe in there but they but the quality could step up.

I dont recommend the iced cofree. They fill the cup to the very top with ice, fill the cup halfway with cream and put a splash of coffee in. I literally had white coffee even though I asked for just a little cream. I read a few other reviews saying the same thing but tested my luck thinking maybe those people were just picky. But I had they exact same experience. Also they keep all their coffee in open pitchers on a shelf which really skeaved me out. Would not recommend this place.

I first learned about this place a few years back and every chance I get I go and buy a coffee from here they have a variaty of flavor choices. They also have alcaholic beverages as well as none alcaholic, they also have food and snacks. I beleive they also every once amd a while have a live band performing or a musician. I saw it a few times Ive visited. Now that ill be moving close to here Ill most likely be buying coffee here all the time.

This is not something you say to a customer that is there 6/7 days a week. Very bad customer service especially since it was the owner that did this. Will never go there again
