First time here and the food was excellent.

Honestly, this place is exactly what you need in the morning. Highly recommend. Pancakes are little golden joys. They make bacon how I like it, crispy crunchy.

Great patio outside of an ole school diner. Brought my 2 kids and they loved the pancakes! Great service and fresh ingredients for eggs, bacon & pancakes. My wife loved her omelette.

Food was alright. service was good. but cash only. i didnt even get a receipt. there was a mistake on my order price and this is why you NEED reciepts. idk about massachusetts specifically but not giving reciepts is illegal elsewhere because of this. im sure its a quiant local thing but highly suggest going elsewhere if youre from out of town. even after i got it fixed i still technically overpaid by about 50¢ (which might seem like nothing to some of you but im borderline poor literally every penny counts.) that plus the fact the atm charged me $2.50, means that i really paid $12.19 for a meal that id barely value above $6. egg and cheese with apple juice. for 12.19. at least it was a moderately good egg and cheese.

Fabulous food!

Sat outside on a Sunday morning for breakfast with my son. Wait staff was attentive quick and efficient. Food was excellent as usual. Only problem was they do not take debit cards so my son was directed to go to the nearest Bank location to retrieve cash and we had to make a return trip to pay the check. Otherwise its worth a trip to check out this nostalgic place

Clean and classic. Everyone was so nice and I felt so welcome there. The food was so wholesome, it felt like I jumped into a Norman Rockwell painting. Just letting everyone know - its cash only. I didnt know that and they trusted me to leave to get cash then come back! The people that work there really are awesome.

It is truly the best diner around! You dont just get the most amazing home cooked meals but you get to meet some very lovely people. The wait staff there are so kind and sweet they make you feel like family. If your visiting the area or just live in or around the area make a stop in and you will not regret it.

Everyone that passes through Lynn Massachusetts needs to stop at the historic Place Capitol Diner. You cant go wrong with anything you order on the menu literally great service small capacity but well worth the food. might have a little bit of a wait on the weekends and early mornings for the hustle and bustle of people trying to grab a fantastic breakfast before they go into work so get there early.

Early morning breakfast, friendly staff, remember you need cash, I heard this place used to have its own chickens right out front but city codes changed and thats in the past. The Capitol Diner is still going strong and is definitely worth stopping in for breakfast.

This would be a great place if the chief wasnt so rude and nasty example of this is him cooking beef and pork on the same grill then when he uses a pan he just wipes it out as oppose to washing it I am all set with this place the hostess are nice but the chief needs to be replaced.

Best diner on the north shore

Good food, terrible service. I gave this place several chances only because I really like the food but I just cant handle the poor service anymore. Yes of course Ive had some good experiences but the bad way out weighs the good. The last straw was putting in my order with the waitress and I had noticed she never gave it to the cook. Another waitress asked me if I was all set I said yes she already took my order and the waitress that took the order even acknowledged this interaction. After I witnessed people finishing there meals and leaving that came in after I did I was so disgusted I couldnt even say anything. I went up to her at the register and said how much for the coffee, she says $2.00 and says nothing about my breakfast that she completely blew off. It almost seemed as if she did it on purpose seeing shes walking right past me sitting at the counter every few minutes hustling over meals for people that came in 15 minutes after I did, I mean how could she possibly not notice that I dont have my food after sitting there for 45 min?. Its too bad, but its definitely time to find a better place, which I certainly have. Andys on Boston St. Girls are great, the food comes out quick, great portions and good!!, fair prices, very spacious and they come around frequently to REFILL YOUR COFFEE!! R.I.P. Capitol Diner, its going to be called Los Palacio de la Comida Espanola soon anyway when the owner sells out to the cook. Mark my words...
