Only one dressing room open in the entire place and only one cashier in the entire lower level. Lots of staff (with JCPenney name tags) wandering around speaking to each other very very very loudly in other languages and touching things as they pass by but no one that will actually assist customers. Was in there over an hour and could not get assistance from a single person except the cashier who HAD to assist me check out.

I went in for a small kitchen appliance that the JCPenney website showed to be available. It, indeed, was on the shelf for me. I was distracted by cute womens clothing I passed on my way upstairs and ended up leaving with 3 new outfits in addition to the electric skillet I needed. Great prices and value and the store was pleasant and uncrowded even though some of the dressing rooms were shut. I walked right up to the checkout counter and was quickly out the door. Im thrilled with my purchases!

Lots of merchandise with good prices but very few staff at checkstands. Returns/ exchanges need to go to the catalog pick up area to be processed which is not convenient and not identified on indoor signage. The staff working were polite and helpful.

Dont even think about ordering from Penneys online if theres even a remote chance you will have to return it. All of the people ahead of you in the return line will take 40 min even though your transaction will only take 3 minutes. Worst service Ive seen in a long time, will never shop there again.

The plus size section is a joke. You have a whole store to fill up and you gave it a closet size section. Not to mention the clothes dont even go up through plus size sizes. Do better.

JC Penny used to be my go to place to purchase my clothing (men’s). Today the selection was near non-existent for men’s dress shirts. I noted the extremely limited selection of other business attire.The staff was extremely rude to the people in front of me at checkout. I purchased one pair of jeans.This was probably my last visit. So long JC Penny. It was nice while it lasted. It’s not me, it’s you.

The gals in Customer Service are very helpful, sweet and fun. This dept is a winner, you dont have to bug the sales staff in the store doing and helping others find something that is hiding in plain site? No one gets held up and the shopper and staff are happy b/c theycan get you out of the store faster, its a win- win! C/S and returns are a winner especually if you hate shopping for yourself!

Was looking for a specific dress for a wedding and they didnt have what I was looking for but they did have a nice selection of other types of dresses that were casual and formal.

All returns / exchanges are done at one spot in the store. All other sales stands are not allowed to do this. A real pain in the a$$ when your helping your 80 year old parents go from the 2nd floor back down to the 1st and walk to the other side of the store tucked back in some corner.

The return counter is basically hidden, and when we got there it was very disorganized. We customers were clearly confused as to which line we were supposed to stand in, but none of the employees helped us.The employee we were working with was very very slow. We were just trying to exchange something we got online with something they had in the store, but it took close to 20 minutes and we had to get a manager. The manager was much better at her job, but I digress. Our issue had a very easy solution (return the item, put the value on a gift card, then use that gift card to buy the next item) and the employee were working with had clearly worked there a while (she had badges on her name tag). This should have been a 5-minute thing.5 minutes later, we went to the jewelry department to ask a question and the employee started a phone call just as we got to the counter. Surely, it didnt even start ringing on the other side yet, but she insisted we wait before she could help us. We grew tired of waiting and left the counter. Why didnt she talk to us first? How many customers is she getting in the jewelry section?Some people that work at this JCPenney seem competent. The woman in the makeup area was very helpful, and so was the woman by the front desk. But the rest of our trip to JCPenney was so frustrating I dont think Ill ever buy a product there again.

Purchased a $45 lab grade opal ring on sale and the main stone fell out 2 days later. The manager (Nidhi) refused to exhange because I did not buy their $25 protection plan at the time of sale. I had called 2x prior to coming in to exchange and was told they could exchange it, no problem, as long as it was within 30 days (which it was). Im extremely upset and will never purchase jewelry from JC Penny again, and im letting my family and friends know too. All of this over a $45 ring??? I left the broken ring at the counter I was so upset. DO NOT give them your business. They do not care about their customers. Only $$$$$

I made a purchase yesterday & after my cc was approved & charged, there was a *please wait response on the credit card reader. The associate called a *manager over & she looked at the reader & register, saying something is wrong & to take me to another register to again charge my one item purchase. I said NO I want a receipt to say I wasn’t charged & she said you weren’t! I said it’s here (mobile app) pending on my credit card AND the 110$ charge is deducted from my available funds! Several other managers assured me it’s a pending charge & I will not be charged. All my purchases that day showed pending. I was charged! I said it doesn’t help me now & they gave me zero documentation that this transaction did not go through on their end. It was a ridiculous unapologetic experience. I will now have to *wait & waste more time on Monday to call my cc company & if it goes further with JC Penney’s. Not happy with this store!

Ive been a customer there for years and they have really gone down hill. Its dirty and there are hardly any customer service counters. You can only make returns in the way back pay of the store in a long line. Its really inconvenient and dismal. The dressing rooms are really dirty, at least they were before covid. I dont even think you can use them now. I can see why they are struggling to stay in business. I used to really like shopping there.

This location of JCPenney is literally the nicest example of the brand that I have seen in a very long time. Though this is Covid-times, and the store is lightly staffed when I visited, all merchandise was displayed in an organized and easy to browse manner. The store was clean and felt more open than other JCPenneys (which are often seen to have over crowded merchandise and tight walking paths). This JCPenney location actually felt like a nicer Macys store. Frankly, the experience of discovering this store was a pleasant surprise, with expectations set low based on what may be seen at other locations.When I visited, there were actual clearance items. Not fake clearance sales, like you might find at other stores, which shall not be named. I was able to get several panes of high-quality shear curtains for under $50 total (not each) with tax.The only point of concern is that since this is Covid-times, this location is way understaffed. Patience will be required. Based on several interactions, I will say that the staff (when you find them) are very friendly and helpful.Parking is easy in the adjacent parking lot. You can avoid the crowds you might experience if you park on the other side of the mall. The mall itself it super easy to get to.All and all, I actually enjoyed visiting this particular JCPenney.

I like this location vs smaller ones in the region. The big and tall shop has a lot more selection than the smaller stores. The only drawback to the Spokane locations are the high Washington state. Sales taxes. That couples with the higher minimum wage does mean higher prices than stores in either Idaho or Montana.

We always find great buys and good home equipment and clothing at Penneys. The staff is friendly. They add crew during busy times so that the wait to check out is never too long. I forgot to bring my card and they let me use another ID to charge merchandise. I hope Penneys thrives and grows stronger every day!

Areas were not clearly marked, so after walking around trying to find the area I was looking for, I gave up and left. Main aisles are wide, clothing areas have lots of clothes, so can be hard to navigate. Store was clean.

We went there for family photo. Attendant was inpatient, rushed us through the session. Alot of the poses did not come out nice. Very glaring professional mistakes.
