Doctors orders - I havent been inside any store since March of 2020, so nearly a year and a half now. So know that this review is based only on the drive up service. Also I have done drive up service from 6 different Walmart stores, 4 different Target stores and 3 different local chain groceries over 3 different states. This location is my favorite of all the Walmart drive up services that I have used. They are quick when you arrive and they always make sure to ask about substitutions. They are friendly when they have to check ID for alcohol purchases, even with my out of state license which is all wonky compared to IL licenses. They take care when loading your vehicle. I have had other stores toss a bag of cans on top of a bag of bread, and this has never happened here. Everything has been placed with care, even when the back of my van is a mess like Im sure so many families understand.A couple of times I have had issues with produce, but I also think this is to be expected when someone is picking things up but not really examining them like the crazy Mom who looks at her groceries from multiple angles. Each time I have been quickly refunded - and every time it has been an issues with berries, and lets be serious, berries can go bad if you look at them wrong. In the interest of full disclosure, at one time there was an issue where I didnt get many of my groceries - an entire refrigerated crate was left behind. But people make mistakes. They found the mistake quickly when I called and I was able to come back to pick it up with an additional gift card for my trouble. This area is not my permanent residence, but at this time I have picked up nearly 10 drive up orders at this store and I can confidently heartily recommend the drive up service here.
Guy in the paint department didnt really know his stuff. Store had recently been redone and I didnt like the changes. PLUS......there were NO cashiers. I prefer the personal touch and like friendly, helpful cashiers. Theyll lose a lot of impulse buys from customers like me who can just stay home and order online.
I really like the pick up service for groceries. I hate self check out in the store so this is my best option. Friendly service.
Typical Wal Mart store and selection. But it was nice to see that they allow big trucks and RV to park on their lot. People were friendly and helpful. This is a mandatory mask business with self checkout. Should I plan on doing some of the stocking as well?
Not much to say! It was ok before when you only had a few items and didnt want to stand in line... Now its mostly self checkout! I know what Im there for and I dont look around for anything else.
Always appears to be well stocked. They have what appears to be only 4 cashier lanes. One usually open. All other registers are self checkout but they have large bagging areas. Its seems they still have the same amount of front end staff of other walmarts but with one cashier for 10 self check outs they are able to keep it flowing. Good store and clean.
Staff members were extremely helpful and courteous
Was able to get right in for an oil change which never happens! Auto section has good customer service!
All in one place.Great experience. Time saving and excellent service
Why in the world would you remove all the employee checkers and add mostly self check lanes? If I shop before 8 am there are usually NO associates available to assist.I understand change but, come on.Where is my employee discount?
This is without a doubt the worst walmart I have ever been to. Everytime Ive been in this walmart associates are rude and will almost completely refuse to help, whether its finding an item you want to purchase or help getting you checked out. Ive even seen and also been one of the customers being yelled at by an associate. All I wanted to do was buy something and I end up getting yelled at for doing the same shopping I would have done at any other walmart. Ive worked at a walmart before and I would have been fired for doing my job the way these associates do. How could management allow a store to opperate like this?
Excellent service, from the minute I walked in. I was able to get tires installed on a Sunday. Service department was able to have my car finished in roughly an hour. Considering it was a Sunday and they were busy. Prices were very affordable, worth the drive. Believe me
They had everything we needed. The also took time out to go in the back of the store to find some items we needed...
Great store with everything you need under one roof. Shelves are always stocked and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Awesome as I did curbside pick up, waited 4 minutes, much better than going into the store
This used to be what I called my Walmart I always used. It is terrible now!! They are always out of everything. Getting someone to help is impossible. Wish I could say this is the only time it has happened, but it has been an on going problem for about 5 months now. Very mismanaged!
From the moment you walk in with the greeters. This Walmart is the best staff wise that Ive ever been to. Especially at the self checkout the staff there is always so friendly and helpful. I know theyre overworked and understand but they always attend right away and are so courteous I wish I knew their names
I love the new re- remodel of the store. Very easy to find products. Very helpful employees.
This Walmart is typically busy and isnt as well stocked as other Walmarts. I got my first dose of the vaccine in Galesburg and was there maybe 5 minutes waiting for the vaccine. Then stayed for the 15 like Im supposed to. Got my 2nd dose here in Macomb and I had to sit and wait for 50 minutes after my appointment time to finally get my vaccine. Thank you for wasting my time. There was just me and one other person sitting there waiting so it wasnt busy.
Literally waiting for 12 minutes and counting to have someone help in paint section. Ive been assured that someone is coming 3 separate times. After this, I will never shop walmart again. Shop local people.
Great mall serving Macomb and all other nearby towns.
U can buy any thing, cheap and best
This store is still requiring masks, which I appreciate. We were there at 11:00 am and the deli and bakery were not open. We cane for the deli. They did have a few prescliced mewts in a cooler but they didnt seem too fresh. There was some descent produce including tomatoes and onions that looked really good. The strawberries and apples looked old. Other stuff was in between. Theyve rearranged the store. Aisles seem wider and the selection is much less than a year or two ago. They were busy but only had two cashiers and a bunch of self check outs. Some aisles were half bare and others were well stocked. The entire time we were in the store not a single employee spoke to or helped us. There were very few employees
Best Walmart supercenter weve ever visited
One of the nicest Walmart that is cleaner than even a target. Great deals.
Mary Jane was friendly and I didnt have to wait along time in line
I find it somewhat frustrating there is only a few regular check out aisles. As a disabled advocate, its unfortunate that so many people have lost jobs for people to have to check themselves out. Jmo but I still go there, just not as frequently.
Using an electric chair, I found many isles impassable because racks were so close together. Made it hard to get where I wanted to go.
They usually have friendly greeters and everything is easy to find.
Always an interesting trip to get essentials.
Very nice, can always find what I need there
It is horrible now only 2 assisted check out lanes, everything else is self check out. I am elderly and dont understand self check out nor should I have to.
One lady helped me find a full length wedge pillow.
Grate stock and really friendly employees
Remodeling happening at this time, which is great. However, products are in disarray and they had to price check several clearance items I was buying because the prices which rang up were not the clearance prices. A couple of my items were mistakenly placed on the clearance end cap by an employee, and were not clearance items. Im sure they will get it all figured out, but check your prices closely for now.
Im not near one very often, but I like the steak and lobster, and their cheese biscuits are amazing
Must wear a mask to enter. Have replaced nearly all cashiers with self checkout.
Wish theyd quit moving stuff around but reasonable prices
Its a Walmart. The dregs of society shuffle through the aisles like the walking dead. Existential dread and and despair linger in the air. They also have a lot of stuff for sale at relatively low prices.
This time, though they had rearranged the store, I did find what I needed.
Would of been better but it was under remodel and everything was so pushed together I couldnt get down some aisles. Not many cashiers open how do you self check out and even that wasnt issue
Always happy when shopping@Walmart
Sometimes the associates are quite helpful. Most of the time the store is in disarray or theyre out of what I went there for. 50/50 toss a coin. Hope the odds are in your favor
I will not use the self checkout. It is enough work getting groceries in and out of the car for me. I am a senior citizen Very unhappy
Management are bunch rude _ _ sholes!!! Should be fired or shot .
I love shopping here, just not liking the fact that theyre always out of Doles apples and cream cups, no longer sell Jackson Morgan salted caramel, & cant find anyone when you need help.
Place was gross. People dresss like street walkers. Went to get school supplies had very little left
In and out, quick checkout service...
No I desgree the cashier are rude and no help Im not happy customer
I have found that Walmart is doing everything it can so that we are able to shop safely without getting the Corona virus. Plus I think theyre grocery pickup is a lot better way of shopping to stay safe from the Corona virus! Thank you, Walmart for making my shopping experience a good one. No complaints!
I hate Walmart. Its always a zoo.
The employees do not know where anything is located. They look at their app and then send you, but do not see if they can find it themselves. I am not a self checkout girl, especially not when I have three kids and a cartload. I am switching to giving my business to Farm King and HyVee. Very sad :(
I always get good service from the pharmacy as well as the store employees. Even when theres a problem they usually are pretty quick to figure out a solution and take care of it right away.
They had what we needed, right when we needed it.Walmart is generally a standard experience. There are some stores which focus more on cleanliness or on service, or some other aspect more than others - but basically Walmart is Walmart. Youre going to get whatever you expect when you get there.
For a town of 20k there is absolutely no need for Walmart to be putting in a store layout for a major metro area
THIS STORE IS FILTHY AND UNORGANIZED!! Where r the little signs, down the isles that tell you where everything is, like they have in Iowa?!
Not super thrilled about having to check myself out...especially with a huge grocery haul and kidlets. 🙃 also they do have a cash register open...with a person...one of four that could be running.
The remodel is inconvenient. But its a clean store .
Stood in line Monday for over 30 minutes. One cashier. Four registers, but only one was open. At one point (from what I could see and count), there were 3 people ahead of me and at the very least 16 behind me. The line stretched through the main aisle clear to the other side of the store. Self checkout was also pretty busy... but I am not employed by, nor am I paid wages by Walmart. This was the 2nd Monday in a row that there was 1 cashier at peak time. Last week after people got loud, they did bring up an extra cashier. This week however, they still had just the one lane open. The poor cashier had to have been so stressed knowing the line went past the pools and seasonal section. Hire more actual cashiers!! I know why they only have one... so we all get frustrated and then use the self checkout. This is incredibly poor customer service and Im not sure Ill go back. I know I am not the only one unhappy, as there was plenty of literal yelling and anger and discussion from all of the other customers in that single line. I can only imagine that the people at the end of that line waited at least a full hour. Imagine the groceries sitting that long defrosting and people still having to drive home from out of town. I cant even fathom the holiday crowds at those 4 squeezed together registers.I was already becoming increasingly frustrated with Walmart, as it has quit carrying several brands and products that I had bought there for years. The remodeling aftermath and lack of cashiers has made it such a chore to shop now. I think its time to shop HyVee, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Aldi, Pet Supplies Plus, and all the other Macomb shops.HIRE MORE ACTUAL CASHIERS! OPEN MORE LANES!
Clean and neat with an excellent selection of ethnic foods.
Nice pharmacy. I dont think the customers should be driven to do self checkouts! Purposely understaffing checkout lanes, drive people away...me included! Watching corporate staff interact with local managers is a turn-off...yall want to argue things then go behind closed doors!! Knit picking your line staff doesnt bode well with me, either. Belittling those folks turn me off. Macomb, Illinois WalMart Store is notorious for the subject matter that I just addressed. Get with it... youre ignorance is driving people away.
They were out of all the small bottles of water. No vanilla ic cream. No XL puppy pads. Not very happy
Dark haired lady in customer service should NOT be a customer service representative. Very rude. I watch her and another employee bully a customer and spoke up. Shes been a rip to me since
Needs better customer service
Absolutely ridiculous. They only have 4 real cashiers and the rest is self check out and the lines are so damn long you cant even walk from one side of the store to the other let alone social distance. This walmart is an absolute TRAIN WRECK!
I hate how just as soon as Im getting used to where everything is, they switch the layout of the store lol.
4 checkouts and the rest are self check. I do not work for walmart. Why should I check myself out??
The people who work outside are always so polite and ask to take your cart for you. the cashiers are also really nice and the place is clean and the best store in Macomb Illinois! I enjoyed my experience here
Guess it’s common practice for your door greeters to scream and yell at the costumers when coming into the store like this one girl with glasses did to me and other costumers not a good way to make people come i heard one of your employees call her dawn or something like that
Clean and quiet and never crowded
They usually have what I want . Staff polite and efficient .
All lanes but 2 and CS desk were turned into self check outs. Ailes are always cluttered with things being put away and employees are too busy with other things to help you out.
Only a few check outs operating long lines they need more employees not everyone likes self check outs.
The worse place it is nothing but trashy stores. They are very rude people that work there. Wish we had k mart back .
It is the worst walmart I have been in.
The have my favorite salmon skinless filets.
I returned a broken Apple product, and got my money back on a gift card to replace it. In the electronics section, the worker said this store was out. I asked if he could order one, but he assured me it would be faster for me to order it online myself. That night, after putting my zip code in the Walmart website, it assured me that they actually were in stock and that next day pickup was available. After and only after paying for the replacement, did they notify me that it actually wasn’t in stock, and the “next day” pickup would be delayed. However the next morning, I was notified that my order was ready to be picked up. After getting my order and going home, I opened the exact same broken product I had repackaged and returned the night before. Once I returned to the Walmart for the third time in less than 24 hours, the workers at the return counter didn’t apologize once for any inconvenience this ordeal had caused me. They were incredulous, unapologetic, and rude. I guess the moral of the story is, they will sell you someone else’s returned and broken products, maybe even the broken products you returned yourself.
Have been doing great with covid-19 and have made sure to wiped down surfaces and have kept up with guidelines. Great service as well!
My only complaint is that it has all gone to self checkout. There were only 1-2 cashiers in the whole store!!!
Its hard being an essential worker, she said, while trying to fit the contents of an entire cart into one plastic bag.Yes, it is, my wife agreed. I wish I had been quarantined for even two days, just so I could have had a break!I just got back from a two week vacation. At this point, I wanted to ask, Do you think youre still on it? Meanwhile, I re-bagged things like a regular human shopper.
Good place to get all you want, service was satisfactory
Still trying the learn where things are since the last remodel.
No help. Only self check outside now which is annoying
The online pickup is amazing and most of the people are great that bring your stuff out to you!
A must for a family but dont like self check outs
My visit was very good was able to fine everything I needed
Walmart is the place to shop in Macomb. With more and more stores closing down, it is good to have a store that offers a variety of brands and products in small towns. Usually the associates are friendly, helpful and courteous.
The store was halfway decent employees treated me good not as much toilet paper stocked though it would get busy at times not as busy as all the walmarts here in Peoria though but the walmarts here in Peoria are stocked with toilet paper for the most part they are good at keeping stocked
Love Wal Mart
Great place, very helpful
The store is a mess due to reovations they eliminated cashiers and 3 days ago caught fire
Parked in the middle of the parking lot and Treach through sloppy snow only to find out one of the entrances is closed. There was a sign on the door itself but you cant tell from the parking lot what it is until you get there. Of course I do walkthrough more sloppy snow to get into the opposite door. Store was in shambles and as usual never enough people to check you out!
To lazy to check you out
Always what I need at a reasonable price.
Have to look for items ourselves, so we customers ought shop the backroom since they dont want to stock the shelves
Ive got a love hate relationship with these guys now. Theres never anything Im wanting on the shelves anymore. I understand about Covid thing, so thats why its 50/50 with me these days. Cant wait for things to get better all around.
This WM seems very unorganized. The guy from Automotive that tried to help us was very nice though! All of the staff so far have been nice and helpful!
They will loose customers at this rate. If I go their I want full services including checkout and bagging.
I used the WalMart pickup service this morning because of the surge in Covid cases in my community. I received fast friendly service from a wonderful young lady who socially distanced, wore a mask properly, and was courteous and respectful. Thank you WalMart for this service to protect those of us who are at risk.
Great place to find all you need.
