I love this bookstore. Its very organized. If they dont have what youre looking for, they can order it from other Gottwals. You can buy new or used books.

This is my first time visiting this small bookstore. I was very excited to see a bookstore in Macon. The associates were friendly and helpful and helped my daughter find the book that she wanted called Warriors. They were very low-keyed and relaxed and the music was beautiful and we purchased two books, and I will definitely return again!

We shop here all the time. Its a great used book store that also has new stock as well. You can sell them your old books for store credit, then use that credit for future purchases. The only thing I dont like about the store credit program is when using it to purchase other books, you cant use store credit for 100% of the purchase... only 50%.

If youve ever gone into a library and wished you could take a book home with you permanently Gottwals Books is for you. Unlike chain bookstores Gottwals has a personal service to help you find whatever you wish to read. The atmosphere is relaxing and you are encouraged to take your time browsing. They even offer many sitting areas so you can peruse the literature. A great place e to take a load off and then take some very affordable books home for later.

Gottwals is one of my favorite places to spend a couple of hours and to find new books. Every member of the staff that I have encountered has been pleasant and helpful, even amid weird things going on with COVID. The general vibe of the store is cheerful, and they carry a very wide selection of gently used books for all ages and tastes.

Hate I didnt get any pictures of the outside of this place. Its painted to look like a full bookshelf c: Inexpensive prices and reasonable trade in system. Pictured here are my load of thicker reference books as well as some fantasy novels and Micron pens (not pictured here) for under $30 at the register with store credit (a notable one was the Animal encyclopedia was $50 retail but priced $9 at Gottwals so that should give a visual on some kinds of pricing) The store is somewhat small but large enough that the variety is fairly wide and interesting. Im not a religious person but they definitely support Christian values if that is your thing. Clean and quaint inside, they let us bring in our chihuahua and put him in a cart to browse the store. The Sorting arrangement of the books got a little confusing to me after a while but left satisfied with our purchases all the same. Great stop, will visit again.

This place is great. They do a great job with keeping things in stock and are very helpful when you cant find what you need. They have reading clubs also. I love this place and would rather come here than the local library. It is quiet here!

This is a hidden jewel in Macon. They offer a vast assortment of books for various levels of readers. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. On occasion, they have located books for me at other store locations and had it shipped to their store for me. I can always count on Gottwals to carry all of the books that my children need for their summer reading lists. I must also mention that their prices cant be beaten within the Middle Georgia area.

I love all of Gottwals locations, but this location is the closest to me. It has a wide selection, and as always, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I love Gottwals book selling policy (the 50% off is amazing!!). I come here 2-3 times a month, and I love that I dont have to break the bank to explore literature.

They give good credit for trade-ins.There bookstore is jam packed with selections for all ages and walks of life. Their creative outside decor gives way to the exciting imaginative world of a readers dream. Their is also a large variety of unique and hard to find new toys from magnetic blocks to magnetic putty.

Gottwals Books is a real hidden treasure. It looks like a small used book store but there are several locations all supported by a large warehouse. If you go through their extensive inventory at any of their stores and dont find what you seek then ask their friendly, knowledgeable staff to check to see if what you want is in their system somewhere else. The owner himself help me put together a 56 volume collection of a series I wanted for my kids. Great experience. I love shopping there.
