EDIT: I wish we had seen all the bad reviews about returns and customer service before. Take notice! It is not just one person, one bad experience, they seemingly do this to lots of people. I only went here because the had the cheapest price, now I know why.I liked the store but have problems with the quality of items sold. They sold my boyfriend a defective chain saw. (pull handle came off) When he tried to return it for a replacement two hours later, the assistant manager said it was not defective and asked what he was supposed to do with a broken tool. My boyfriend asked why they would not return it to the manufacturer, and was told the store did not want to get the manufacturer involved and that the tool would have to be sent to another city over an hour away to get it repaired. No replacement. No refund.
Two people behind the counter named Zach and Melina. Zach is helping a customer, Melina is sitting on a stool looking at papers with her back turned to the place where customers come to pay for stuff. After a few moments, Zach asks Melina to ring me up. She gets up, stands at one of the three open registers furthest from me and waits. Then another employee hustles up to the front and she asks him to ring me up. He calls me over, as Im actually standing in line, when another customer rushes straight to the counter and drops his stuff. Employee did do a bit of a double take, but said nothing and began to ring that guy up.Enough for me.Left the parts, clearly my business wasnt wanted.I could have ordered them online for $2 more shipped to my door. Guess Ill do that now.When I called back to find out why I had such a terrible customer service experience, turns out Melina the manager was the one behind the counter. She apologized and said she should have rang me up and didnt have a good reason why she didnt. She then proceeded to tell me the other manager, Zach, left so I couldnt speak with him, then admitted she wasnt up there anymore and wasnt sure if he was there or not.Two hubs were $90+. Dont know what the line jumper spent but hope that math adds up.
Quite well they set aside an electric motor for me because it would not go through online. Very pleased with service.

First time there, was clean, and well laid out. Surprised I didnt find screws, but that is apparently not thier jam.
Bought a stock trailer, friendly staff, great service. Had a problem with one tire with slipped belt, they exchanged the tire and rim no questions asked. Very pleased with trailer and excellent price. Store was fully stocked, definitely worth the trip.

This place is Disneyland for any guy. Everything you want. Everything you need. You get the idea. The store is clean inside and out, and they always seem to have what I need in stock .

Folks nice and friendly but disogarnized. Weht to look at atv trailer. Was told in stock. Helped loo for hour never found. Looked at similar trailer. Ordered. Trailer is very tippy. Not at all made for anything other than level ground. Low speed at that. I will have to modify this trailer. Extend axels so wider stance. Dump lever is junk too. That needs to be bettered.

Their return service is absolutely terrible, spent almost $350 there and needed to return my items less than 2 hours later because they didn’t fit and they tell me it’s going to be 7 to 14 days to mail me a check. If you can at all avoid this store I would highly recommend it, very screwy

The staff at the location is good. The return on defects is absolutely horrific. I purchased 4 Empire furnaces for my resort cottages and had an issue 1yr into a 10yr warranty. One stopped firing and needed a new gas valve. Northern Tool and Empire Furnace sent me back and forth 5 times to discuss who would take care of my issue. Neither would help me. I spent over $1600.00 for these! They told me to hire a HVAC person at my expense and that I would have to submit a claim to try and get my expenses back!! When I mentioned that I had been back and forth on the phone for half a day the customer service person told that he had been there since 7:00am and that his situation was worse! Eventually I was given a Labor Request Form. I now have to find a HVAC person who they can send the valve to (good luck in my location) and then wait for the HVAC to get me in the schedule then submit the form for a possible reimbursement for my expenses. I would not make any large purchases from here at ALL! They dont Back their product!! Awfull service!!

In May of 2014, I purchased a Poulan 16” Chainsaw (PP3816A) from a Northern Tool in Madison, Wisconsin for $169 less a $20 coupon. I used the chainsaw on 3 different weekends for a cumulative total of not more than 8-10 hours. Everything being cut was very light weight and “weekend warrior” type work. On the 3rd weekend, which was in September of 2014, the crankshaft cracked and broke off. I went to Northern Tool and they told me there wasn’t anything they could do and that I needed to work with the manufacturer. I went to the manufacturer and they told me I had to work with an authorized dealer. I went to the authorized dealer and they told me they couldn’t fix it unless there was a work authorization from the manufacture. If they did the repair outright, it was going to cost me $225. I talked with 3 people at Poulan, and basically was told “No”, “No”, and “it is impossible for the crankshaft to break, so no”. I asked if there is anything they can do, ANYTHING, a $25 voucher, give me the part, ANYTHING, and the answer was no.I am disappointed that neither the retailer nor the manufacturer were willing to help. I will never by a Poulan brand ever again. I am extremely disappointed on how both parties responded to this, pretty much “no customer service or care” throughout the entire ordeal. Buyer beware!
Ordered A roll tarp for a dump truck. Took 21 Days to get it to the store. Terrible customer service, zero organization. The representative on the phone told me I would be better off buying from another store.
While this hardware store carries many its most do not this location still seems to be limited. I went shopping today with two gift cards on my pocket and went home with nothing but the gift cards.
