Was a good store.. had to ask someone where the bathroom was because it was hidden.. was looking for a sign for restroom.. it would of been easier to find then.

Amazing store with nice staff and has good selection of things you will need store has recently changed like new entrance and new signs (only this store changed in the Madison area 2021 for now) recommended coming here and nice selection of plants

Save big money at Menards. Menards has everything you need. Theres always some one to help. Prices are good. My only thing is sometimes the product its not the quality youre looking for. I assume thats why they have such good prices. But overall Menards is one of my go to places for home construction material.

Every single employee I asked for help and told me to walk to a different department and ask that employee which is completely unacceptable as I don’t work here so why would I want around the store looking for other employees that I don’t know where they’re at get your act together this isn’t Home Depot. You also have radios and you have devices to tell you where stuff is so use them so I won’t have to write reviews like this I’m very disappointed in the way the store has gone downhill over the years🙃

Twice now I have gone to this Menards because their website says the items I want to get or have order and paid for are not at the store when I come. Thboth times have been looking for the items I want and going without 30mins of find or paying for said items and then the store does not have them when I arrive. Both times I have been told they were out and have not had the items for some time. My main gripe is with their online system not working or being up to date. It is a simple problem but quite annoying to have it keep having especially after I am being told by their system that my items that I have paid for will be at the store for pick up.Menards you are a great store to go to. Please fix your online/ stocking systems.

I like Menards better than the other huge hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowes. The one in Madison West is really huge, like the size of an entire mall.

Few things placed in very random spots in the store. Using their mobile app, you can see where something is in the store but was very inaccurate for what I went looking for. Nice staff, I know a lot of Menards staff at other locations will walk you to where the item you are looking for is, but they did not do that here. Cashiers are very nice.

Sporadic service. Great selections in the kitchen area..cabinets, counters. Appliances are slim pickings to choose from. Great options for Francine in for mill work. It seems like in most departments people dont know what theyre talking about. It seems like you know more than they do awesome. However the store is friendly well let him clean

I am a contractor and find purchasing with Menards for many building materials is cost effective and well stocked.The west side location has the better customer service of the two locations in Madison, in my opinion, but not so much that I avoid the other.The yard is easily accessible and navigable.

We all know you can get everything youd need to build with from here but after going to 2 box stores looking for a laundry basket I was surprised they had them. Im going back to look for a wife.

Was great got all we needed but tge one sink was out of stock and had to take another and also didnt have the option to mail to us. We live 2 hours away and traveled thru Madison on way home.also each area needs a worker so we dont have to go look for someone and use up 20 minutes here and there. Husb want happy. Our linoleum guys did 100%. So did Lily....I think her name was got us help 2 times and 1 x it was her break I think.

Not a fan of the obnoxious 11% off everything rebate process. Mailing paper forms, waiting for a postcard in the mail? It is all so disingenuous and customer hostile

The Lumber yard is pretty well organized. The garden center is also stocked very well. The main store itself is a very large Menards and it helps to know where the departments are located.

Very busy today (Saturday) because its gorgeous and people are doing outside projects. I dealt with 3 people today and everyone was super helpful.

I was able to find my shopping items easily. In and out in under ten minutes! The store functions well!

Very disappointed in our recent experience. We needed to clean the carpets and called in advance to inquire regarding the process. The information received was not helpful. Had to go to the back of the store to find the cleaner and asked how to rent it. Told we could go through any checkout. After waiting 15 minutes in a checkout lane was told we had to go to customer service instead. Total time of almost an hour just to do the rental. Then we get it home and discover the machine is not operational. Turns out the store knew a repair was needed on this machine, but mistakenly put it out in the store. Another long trip to the store to exchange for a working machine. Manager was unwilling to allow extra time for the rental or provide any discount for the inconvenience and poor service. I expect more from this Wisconsin company and am extremely disappointed that the experience demonstrated no customer service

One of my favorite stores, have just about everything for fair prices and love the 11% rebates!

Poor customer service. Called to see if something was stocked on shelves that was in inventory online. Was told it was. Asked employee to walk to see product and verify because it was not in stock prior to trips to store (on consecutive days). Said they checked and saw product did but clearly never left the phone. Wasted an hour of my day going to see this was not restocked and also not even in inventory. Manager offered nothing upon complaint for employee who couldnt walk 30 feet to verify stock, did an incorrect inventory check (which online said they had it in stock but checking the actual stock system, said they had zero) and wasted an hour of my day when I could have gone to a different location to buy. Now Menards wants me to place online order so they can charge processing or order picking fee.

Who doesnt love Menards? Nice wood, always honor their sales when items are sold out and rebates have been simplified. BTW....always busy!

Menards has almost everything. When I go there I can wonder for hours looking and thinking about all the projects I want to do at home. When I go to Madison and ask my kids if they want to go, they ask me if Im going to Menards and if I say yes they dont come because it takes me so long to get out of there.

Whenever I need materials fast, Menards always have it in stock. You know that the store is kept clean and the staff is ready to help with whatever you ask.

Simply the best at everything!! They have so many choices of everything.

Pleased to see everyone masked, and only one under the nose person. First time I have been to a hardware store in a year.

The staff in the garden center are knowledgeable and patiently answered my questions. They helped me with placing an order in the store so I could drive right into the yard to pickup my bags of mulch. Every other time I loaded a flatbed cart and balanced the bags to checkout, around corners and through the parking lot to the car.

If you can talk with someone then you are in luck. I have tried multiple times to get a hold of some in building materials only for long wait times where no one picks up. Very disappointing!

Great, I was looking for a faucet cartridge every where, and only found it at menards, after speding all day store by store with no results, all I can said its great, great, great.

This store is very big... maybe too big. It isnt arranged like other Menards stores, either, so you must search high and low for what you want, if youre used to other stores. They have great prices, so theres that!

So many unfriendly people working here. I will say the lady at the service desk and the lady at the gates of pickup in the back were very friendly. But the others need to learn how to work with people.

If this wasnt a local business I would never purchase anything from this particular Menards.Other Menards locations are barely acceptable...at least when it comes to customer service. However the Manager on-duty at this location was too busy to help with a 30 second issue. This is the norm. Not an isolated incidentNever mind that the product brands are always substandard to other home and garden stores and the ridiculous 11% off administration concerns its a wonder that the business model has even succeeded this long.

No items in stock, no option to order online. Go to home depot for better availability or brunsell for a better price

First time I have ever been to a Menards. I grew up on the east coast there arent any Menards. Moved here about a year ago and finally went and glad I did. There were no lines and everyone was respecting the social distancing. The employees were helpful and knowledgeable. If they couldnt answer my questions they politely pointed to someone who could. Cant wait to go back sense we were there for specific items, which we found, and I didnt get a chance to just wander around.

I felt like a winner at menards. Great prices here. Giant selection. Way more than just a hardware store.

Customer service desk could be slightly nicer

The store is laid out well, good selection. Menards choice of offering rebates that arent typically worth the time/expense to apply for is why they dont get 5 stars. Just offer everyone the same low price without making us jump through hoops!

User friendly on line ordering, incredibly fast relay item was ready, knowledgeable staff on arrival, all five stars. But lack of signage for how to proceed from store front to yard, and likewise how to best exit there made my first time use of pickup more confusing than need be.

99% of the time I can find what Im looking for at Menards. And always with a smile from the employees. Great place.

Love this place overall. But they need to improve drive through pick up and special order. The process is uncoordinated at best. It is pretty clear they prefer typical brick and mortar approach where customers come in to do the shopping. When I finally found the right person to talk to they were helpful and friendly. But the process is not documented or customer friendly.

Menards was good, found everything we wanted, even a couple of things I had not been able to find for a while. All at 11% off.

This is a very big store. Ive learned not to try and find something on my own. Find somebody who works there and ask them for directions. Theyre usually happy to help.The prices here are pretty darn good and they have a wide range of different construction materials, pet foods, floor coverings, paints, electronics, lights and plumbing gear plus probably about five other things that I havent needed yet.Im not fond of the rebate system theyre currently running (Im not fond of rebates at all actually) but it is simpler than the typical individual product rebates. However you have a deadline to redeem the rebate or you lose it. So every month you have to fill out the form and you have to give them your email address. I created a throwaway Yahoo address to avoid being spammed.The owner of the Menards chain doesnt have politics I generally agree with, however, I am very happy with the stores response to the Covid-19 crisis. They were early to require masks and to make them available, and they were reaching an audience that really needed to be reminded. I give them a lot of credit for that.One thing I wish was a little different. Menards is definitely a discount store. I cant get premium brands like Milwaukee or DeWalt tools. I suppose that is because those brands wont give discounts to a big retailer. But it means I have to go somewhere else to get my preferred tools. This is not a huge defect.Overall, Menards is the go-to place for building supplies, tools and equipment

This West side location of Madison is ok; however, it is worth the drive to the Sun Prairie East side location. Why? Wider selection, cleaner store, and more helpful associates.

Menards is doing an excellent job during the pandemic. Staff were wearing masks and customers are required to wear them as well as far as I know. Most customers had masks on. Aisles were free and clear and it was very easy to move around without contact. Their curbside pickup was a bit of a struggle, but to be honest I think everyone is trying to figure this out so I think this will get better. And honestly, whatever Menards gets wrong, it cant be worse then the Home Depot. Home Depot clearly doesnt care.

The experience was fine but I bought 4 light bulbs from Feit Electric to replace 4 recessed burned out light bulbs. They are terrible. My night light gives off more light. I will be returning them.

I got all the items I needed and returns done in a reasonable time.

The only thing is i had to wear mask n if i didnt hsve one iwould have to $ 0.41 to purchase one! Ihave ino other Menard store n didnt have wear one or purchase one if it wouldnt of been that i had friend along who gave me mask to wear i would of taken my business to another Menard that it didnt matter if i had had one on or not!

I love the selection and prices at Menards. Right now, its clear theres not much (if any) policing going on to maintain social distancing standards other than requiring that people wear masks. If the social distancing was more enforced between customers, I would visit Menards more often. This is why I removed one star.However, the Menards staff are always remarkably kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I greatly value being able to ask anyone where I might find something or what they recommend. If they dont know or arent an expert, they point me in the direction of someone who can better help. This is unparalleled service and sets Menards above other variety stores like Walmart.

The product I bought was fine, but their 11% mail in rebate is worthless. It’s been at least two months, probably 3, and we haven’t received anything in the mail. They do it through a third party. My purchase was expensive, so this was disappointing.

Store itself is great and well organized but disappointed in the customer service. Two locations in the area and different information received at both locations on an item with different policies being noted. The stock is incorrect online and I am not sure what store puts the only two items in stock on the floor for viewing and has it included in what is available for sale. Nobody seemed to want to really help or try to resolve anything.

Menards never fails! The customer service is always fantastic. Prices are the best compared to competitors ... Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Quality is better as well. Just recently I was looking for a no dig fence. I looked on Menards website and couldnt find what I was looking for. I did find it on Lowes and placed an order. I got an email that it would be delivered on 5/7. No delivery. On 5/8 I get a call from a customer rep who gave a long drawn out your order is cancelled because I think you are out of our delivery area, no maybe its because you ordered too many, no maybe its because you have to order from the vendor ... I finally stopped him and said could you find out the reason and call me back. No call back. I then tried to call the store and they said you received shipment. I said I got a box with 2 items in it that I dont even know what they are nor did I order them. The women didnt care and didnt care to tell me why the order was cancelled. She then said she would transfer me to someone else and she just transferred me to the beginning loop. I will NEVER buy anything from Lowes again. I then went back to Menards to see if I could find something else and Low and behold (pun intended) they had exactly what I was looking for, at a BETTER price and I called to ask for help in placing the order. Peter a very friendly and helpful true Customer Rep in the Doors & Windows department helped me figure out what I needed, placed the order and took payment. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. MENARDS IS THE BEST!!!!!

You have to look at the prices at this place. I looked at some washers where a package of 18 was priced lower per washer than a package of 26.

I dont know why people shop at such a consumer-unfriendly store. I would never get away with their return policies at my small business. My husband bought something for me that I ended up needing to return. Nope. Not happening unless I have his debit card unless I want in-store credit. My last experience was submitting a rebate: going through the whole effort of submitting my rebate form, then never hearing from them again. There are a lot of stores to choose from that carry anything that Menards has. My best advice: Run, dont walk, to another store.

Commericals of Mynards got drilled into my preteen brain as a child. Nothing funnier growing up. As an adult, its a great store with tons of everything you need for home improvement

Inventory count sucks at all stores in Southern WI. Someone could steal millions from these stores and they wouldnt have a clue especially if it was an internal person.

Theyre putting up their Christmas display as of today!! Its 3 months away, really WAY TOO SOON!! First Halloween, then Thanksgiving, THEN Christmas!! Also, shelves dusty and dirty, cashiers mask was hanging off her face, didnt seal at all, and didnt wipe down debit card machine after customer ahead of me used it. On way out, saw a manager wearing his mask entirely wrong.
