Great farmers market. Love how it circles around the capital building. Went back for empanadas and got a buy one get one free sale! Although online it says the market goes until 1:45, just know many vendors start to clear out around 1230/1, but still some selection left after.

Its handy, if youre on campus. Occupying a prominent corner location University and Lake. Should really be called UN-fresh Market. Notice anything strange about this label? I bought it today 10/24. Im especially annoyed since I have cold and couldnt smell it, and drank it but noticed it was slightly tainted. If I get sick-er Ill sue. The bakery seems to be always day old, and slightly hard. Who knows about the deli case. Made a complaint to dean of students, NBC 5 and others.

Youre going to get royal treatment from the management team, Jake and Neil, at Madison Fresh. Their delivery operation ship is run extremely well and on the rare occasion where theres an issue with an order they take care of it right away. Groceries you can buy anywhere; service like this youve got to shop around for!

For the convenience, its really nice having something downtown thats like grocery. Its not the biggest selection, but has pretty much all the essentials you need. Prices are a little high but not terrible. I still go here when I need a quick trip or something simple.

Kind of hit or miss. I have had several run ins with unfriendly staff. Other times great customer service. I stopped to pick up a grab and take protien pack. It included 2 hard boiled eggs, carrots, almonds and something else. Sadly the eggs were like jello when I got to the car. I was asked if I wanted an exchange? Ummmmmmmmm? No thank you. I was given a refund but, not sure I will be back.

This market is incredibly convenient for UW Madison students. The prices are reasonable, and there are lots of sales. The store is kept very clean, and the employees are kind and helpful. Great place to get all your essentials!

Convenient spot, just be careful when something goes on sale as it’s either close to expiring or already expired. FYI the prices are so expensive because they throw out half their grocery store every week and they’ll fill up two dumpsters of actually fresh food in the trash area. Go to Target or Woodman’s if you can find a bus, their prices are at least half the cost of Fresh; Even Whole Foods is cheaper.

Fresh, well-stocked with nice staff. Its a very busy location so allow a few extra minutes. Easy parking in the garage with validation on purchase of $25.

I’ve shopped here in store, and the one time I have a broken leg and use delivery? Reprehensible service. Truly ridiculous. Ordered groceries for the 7-8pm window, groceries came after 8. I said that I didn’t mean want my groceries to be left on the sidewalk, lo and behold, guess where they were? Sidewalk. There’s proof on the receipt. I received a text as the driver (Kelsey?) was pulling off. Hobbled down the stairs for two boxes unevenly distributed in weight. Wrong items in order. Never again. Choose cap centre for delivery!

BEANS 🤢🤮 I got the chipotle chicken wrap from fresh Madison market and I was excited but then I took one bite and it was ALL BEANS. I took out half of the beans from the wrap and it was a huge pile of beans. Literally couldn’t eat it 1/10 for the chipotle chicken Wrap it should be called the bean wrap. Besides that fresh is decent

For basic necessities, youll usually find what you need in a pinch, however everyday items will be at a premium price. Better for quick trips rather than your full weeks grocery list. There are better/cheaper grocery stores in town

The batteries I bought here were so cheap, the printing on them faded off leaving naked cells on trial, held for being bipolar.

Fresh has a great location in a newer building. The store is organized well and is very clearly targeted towards college students.Although they’re not a bad option, there’s other places in the vicinity that have much better prices and a wider range of options.

The broiled cod used to be the best in Midtown. Now, during Covid, its cooked with lemon slices. Terrible idea. Cant wait til the old way comes back.

They have great, FRESH, delicious fruit & theyre cooked FRESH food is delicious as well. 1 of the few places that can make good lasagna.

Im part of a committee at my office in charge of planning catered meals. Its been difficult to find places to feed our staff in the budget provided without giving the employees pizza or subs every meal. The committee has been VERY impressed with the food and service provided by Fresh Madison Market. The staff has loved everything. They have been easy to stay in budget and offer plenty of food. This is now our go to catering company!

I would like Fresh Market if it weren’t for it’s ridiculously high prices or the way it often smells like rotting fruit and bad meat. I’d like them a lot more if their produce was actually “fresh” or if their cashiers knew how to react when I handed them a reusable bag. It’s become primarily my emergency food store. I don’t plan on doing my larger shopping trips there and recommend others do the same. It’s worth the little extra walk, the delivery fee, or the bus ride to a place with better selections and better prices.

Well, I live in Madison and during this quarantine time I order Fresh Madison Market’ delivery online every two weeks. I often have some problems with my delivery. For example, the finalized order receipt charged my 1 pound lettuce to 100 dollars because of they typed the wrong number. The even worse thing is delivered a box of expired mushroom one month ago and one corn that has something stinky and leaks something like black ink today! I called their delivery department for every time I met problems. However, these mistakes still happened to me. What the hell?!

Pros: location is clean, geographically Fresh Market is convenient for UW students.Cons: The prices are way too expensive. I get the sense they are taking advantage of their location and consequent proximity to several people who don’t drive cars. Also the store itself is on the small side so they don’t have a ton of options.Bottom line: If you can take the time, take the bus somewhere else for better variety and more competitive prices.

Tried their honey mustard and it was REPULSIVE. it was more of a dijon honey mustard than an actual honey mustard...do not buy our family’s brand of honey mustard!!! >:(

During the quarantine, I ordered watermelons two times from this store for delivery and two times they were bad. The first time I opened the melon right after it was delivered, the melon was dry, very dry and had a stinky smell when opened. The second time a few weeks later, I ordered two big melons and left it in my room for a single day, the other day I opened one of em, it tasted sour and very unpleasant. I was not happy and thrown it away and opened the second melon and want to taste it’s sweetness to relieve my nerves. but it was the same for that one. This frustrates me. I would really like to have a word with whoever picked my melons.

I bought its ready-to-eat salad, several kinds of fried chicken, wine, and fruits. Delicious. When I visit Madison, this has been a place that I will visit. It is also very easy to get there. It just locates at the bus stop of route 80 and at the corner of state street and university street.

I mean...tiny organic aisle and lots of processed stuff BUT the sale aisle is amazing!! You can find some pretty awesome stuff. I like coming here for big variety of in season fruits. They have heirloom navels. Madison Sourdough delivers here too.

Downtown grocery store with a great deli, lots of produce and single serving frozen section for all the students. Some bakery choices as well. Upbeat new atmosphere.

They do have some good sales and have some good hot food like chicken and sides and other things that make for a tasty meal but over all their prices are way way overpriced. I am surprised since they cater mainly to college students, that they inflate their prices the way they do. Im sure a lot has to do with where the location is-- Im sure the overhead is high but its not a place that I would do regular shopping. If I were in the area I may stop in to grab a bite to eat or get something like 1 or 2 items that I may need but I cannot see or justify doing regular shopping there.

Responsive, helpful and was thoughtful about staying on budget. They delivered everything on time, helped set-up and the food was delicious! I highly recommend Fresh Madison Market for any type of events small or large! Great service, people and yummy food!

A bit on the pricier side but very conveniently located in the heart of campus. Its connected with Lucky apartments so if you happen to live there, you dont even have to go out during winter. From time to time they have really good deals. Sushi bar is decent. Per pound buffet bar is good.

Convenient when your in the area already. It caters to students who live within waking distance. Very little parking but I usually get a spot. Its a little bit expensive but the hot food bar is always good. Nice salad bar too.

Good place to but varieties type of raw food...vegetables are also available...you can get multiple types of sauce and dips... it also has a wine shop inside the main store....location is awesome..you can easily get no 80 bus from opposite of the store to come back university apartment

The prices are a bit high yes. But you have to consider the cost of real estate in this area which is going to be very expensive. The store is very clean, an outstanding selection of products, and very friendly staff. For the square footage of the space, their selection is quite outstanding. Most stores 10 times the size dont have as good of a selection.

Good shopping experience if this is your kind of store. Nice deli. I wish there was more of a dairy selection, and it was my first time in there, but I had trouble finding the products I was looking for; the FairLife Core Power was in a tricky spot, and then I found that it had two different prices between the stand in the back and the fridge in the front of the store.

Fresh Market is close to the dorms and apartments nearby, but it is way overpriced for that reason. In fact, I found organic bananas for 10 cents cheaper per pound at Trader Joes. Additionally, the produce is very iffy. I have repeatedly seen mushy apples and even rotting items on their produce aisle. Worth while if you do not have a car or the time to go to Trader Joes or Target, but definitely would not recommend to someone who wants a quality and fairly priced grocery store

The selection and location is nice. The fresh food is always borderline rotten or is rotten, all the food you are about to purchase as an expiration date of two days out so you have to eat it real quick. Also very very expensive in price unless you buy the sales items.

Our group had a happy hour at Fresh Madison Markets event room. It is a beautiful room high up overlooking Madisons downtown area. Huge windows, spacious seating and wonderful food! We had a mix of the wonderful cheese and sausage selections from their store, along with some chips, fresh fruit, crackers and tasty homemade chocolate covered pretzels with toffee! I had to go down after the HH and buy some from the store! The wine was wonderful as well! I told my manager from my company that they had audio-visual equipment as well, so that if we ever wanted to host one of our meetings there, it would be a perfect, central location. The store is wonderful as well! Lots of unique options from their butcher shop to deli to a HUGE assortment of homemade covered pretzels to dips and cheeses, to a wonderful salad bar to everyday groceries. I really love this place! Highly recommend it!

Spectacular deli offering traditional faves as well as one of the largest, freshest sushi spreads I have ever seen. The hot bar is to die for, especially during breakfast.

This was the first time I visited FRESH MADISON MARKET. Their deli dept. offered a variety of different items which I liked most.

This is pretty much the only decently sized grocery store in downtown Madison (on campus, anyway). If youre a student without a car living on campus, this is probably where youll shop. The prices are pretty high, about the price of a whole foods, but theyre the only place on campus. They offer a pretty nice selection of homemade nut butters and breads and whatnot. The selection could be better, but its a pretty small place, so that makes sense. If you need to park, theres an underground place, as well. They also offer free delivery over like $40, but their website kinda sucks for that. All in all, not too bad.

Fresh food usually costs a lot here(like fruits and veges) but non fresh foods are usually priced pretty well. Ironic.

Fresh is a great alternative food store to get everything you need for a visit to the eastern side of UW. I liked their selection of foods for purchase and they had a great food bar with both salad and warm items. The produce looked very fresh and was very tasty. If you are looking for something just simple instead of going to a restaurant to eat, I would recommend going here because they would have something simple for you.

Pretty decent selection, but produce is rarely as fresh as other nearby stores, and theres often small clouds of fruit flies. However their beer selection is decent and their aisles are fairly comprehensive. Bit pricey even for downtown though.

This place is very expensive and they don’t always have everything you’re looking for. The positive is that it’s located pretty close to the UW campus, and they always have a good selection of prepared food you can take out. They also have a pretty decent deli. The store is always clean, but I can’t afford to do all of my shopping there- they also are not 24 hours.

I like this local grocery store. They have great produce here and carry lots of unique brand foods. I can find lots of things to meet my dietary needs. I love the fact that they are local and even deliver groceries. When I shop here I feel like Im getting high quality products and value for my money. I love doing my shopping here.

I have been a loyal frequent shopper at fresh for two years. It is too overpriced, more costly then Whole Foods. And often, some produce is found not fresh. These take a star each, but the rest is solid for this supermarket.

The prices seem a bit high. However, its a decent place to stop when you need a quick something. The sushi is pretty damn good too. All in all, not a bad place.

Great store with items that are hard to find in town. Highly recommend it.

Used their grocery delivery service. Would normally never use such a service but was very sick and needed a few items. Driver was very pleasant. Did however have a couple items missing but called the store and problem was quickly handled and made right for me. Both people I even talked to on the phone wished me well and told me they hoped I felt better soon. I really felt like I mattered to them not just another person they were taking money from.

I shop here everyday because its right under my apartment. I like the food bar so much, since you can easily grab n go without waiting. Also people are nice here.

Very surprised by the prices and value of produce and groceries at this location. Packaged goods are marked up but normal groceries are on-par with most other big box grocery stores.Their sushi staff is talented and friendly, serving up amazing sushi daily (which I frequent). The location is always clean and they also deliver!

The fried chicken was so dried out and flavors I couldnt eat it. It obviously had been sitting in the warmer all day.

Fresh ???? I just got a rotten bag of peaches and plums that were labelled fresh from Chile. Several months old fruit still on display. A citrus fruit that is completely dried out to the core.How can they be selling such rotten and old fruits and call themselves Fresh Madison Market. Bringing shame to the name.

Nice little super market however the products are over priced. You may find some good deals but you are paying the little extra for other items. The food is fresh and there are plenty of healthy options if that is what you are looking for.
