Wonderful atmosphere and friendly, attentive employees. Selections are great and a bit pricey, but nice to treat yourself to some novels and such. One employee was looking at me kind of weirdly but Im sure it was nothing. Great experience and will definitely come back.
Horrible experienceintegrity nearly= 0Attitude= from worker=1professionalism: 1= Only because the store manager made an effort to communicateI picked my equipment up today both the belts were off the mower I don’t even know how to take them off I haven’t even looked underneath it yet I just barely bought it and the guy literally said him and his people didn’t do it 😂 I guess that means I did it. If anybody needs more information let me know. For some reason they’re stuck on the brand of my equipment not for what I brought it in for ?The guy ask what kind of motor I told him he said that’s fine I work on that but the other stuff I may have to cross reference and find, I said there’s nothing to find all I need is oil change spark plug and that’s all on the motor you work on.
I had a great experience buying my lawn tractor here. The employees are friendly. My experience with purchasing parts is mixed. If you know the part you need (and I mean the exact, specific part number), they will get it for you at good price (and without paying exorbitant shipping like from some online places). If you do not know the specific part number, I have not had the best experiences. All in all though, they do want to help you.
Best place to buy a lawn tractor. Parts and service A-1
Their drivers are irresponsible and dangerous. One of their work trucks passed me on a shoulder while swerving into me, nearly making contact, beeping furiously for no reason. Then he proceeded to drive on a two lane road 20 mph below the speed limit, in an eradicated manor through Clifton causing a traffic jam. The license plate of the driver was A16332.
I tried purchasing a zero turn mower from VA Tractor (Manassas) a few weeks back. They had the mower in stock, but they were unwilling to sell it to me unless I agreed to buy their $1200 service plan. This plan increased the cost of a $2700 mower to nearly $3900...ouch. The manager told me his employees all had families and needed to eat. They eventually relented on the service plan when I explained I was a repeat customer. I was told they needed a few days to uncrate and assemble it...never heard back from them.Fortunately, I found the same model at Lowes for only $2500 in Culpepper...had 22 of them in their inventory. After a 10% Military discount, I was out the door spending $2250 plus tax. This place is shady, shady, shady...go elsewhere.
Really great advice from the team.
I dont know why anyone would leave a bad review on the service department here. they are all highly skilled mechanics with great rates and prices. even the two at the front desk are very knowledgeable. I recommend to all my neighbors
I have been customer at this company for more than 5 years. I purchased my LA 135 from the small business vs the big box store. Service has been reasonable, expensive but acceptable until last month.I had the company perform seasonal maintenance at around $500 in the spring. But last month I found the mower would not start and called the company out for service. Discover it was carburetor and it would cost $640 to replace. Well after finding exact same part online for $40, I asked why such a high mark up on labor. They told me corporate sets the price. I decided I would find another small business to the repair. Which replace the carburetor for $150. It cost me less than $200 to get my mower running again with another small company. This company want $640!! Then the company called couple days ago and said I would have to pay for them coming out. Thats fair, but what is not is cost of $190. They should have gave notice there is fee to diagnose the problem. because I did not pay the $640 they founded another way to still get more money. That would have cost me over $1000 this year for service that did not get me through a full mowing season. The rates are over the top and now I question their service. I am done and told the service manager and store manager the rates are to high. But they simply reply the corporate office sets the rates. Stay away from John Deere and stay way from this store
Parts department is amazing. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to lawn mowers or tractors and I had to go in to pick up some parts for my husband. Chris and Michael in parts were able to locate everything I needed in a timely manner without any hassle. They were extremely professional and respectful considering my lack of knowledge. Would 10/10 recommend all friends to go give Chris and Michael a visit whenever they need parts.Even Alexis and Kurt from service chipped in and offered their expertise in finding my parts. Thanks a million Virginia Tractor!
Had a JD X520 that continued stalling out and I replaced most things trying to repair it (spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, cleaned carb). $99 diagnostic fee and $120 R/T delivery. They advised replacing fuel lines, carb, and doing a winter service for $1,000. A week later and my tractor runs better than it has in years. Kurt and his techs know what their doing.Im giving 4 stars because of overall costs and I requested the spark plugs back as i installed them a few days prior to service, which i didnt get back. They are only $5, but its the principal.
Amazing sales and service department. Helped with everything I needed and more. Dean was great in showing me every model Deere had to offer and helping me chose the best unit for my property.
Service is only concerned about their needs, horrible communication, crooks.
Okay for Deere stuff. Kubota not so much.
They had everything I ordered and everything I forgot to order made the day go smooth. Thanks VA tractor
Virginia Tractor is especially helpful at the parts counter. Knowledgeable and focused on providing a quick solution to my issue. They made my day great!!!
Seems to be a great place
Stopped in to shop for a new garden tractor and received very friendly and knowledgeable service from the manager. Thank you Dean!
These guys did excellent job swapping tires on my Gator. Very friendly, polite, very customer service oriented. Jason was very helpful and easy to deal with. Good pricing too, will be back for sure if needed
Great sales, parts and service. Attentive, friendly, no pressure staff.
Mikey in parts was awesome. Two 60 seconds to locate a difficult to find replacement part. Really knows his stuff!
They gave me an estimate of $680 on my lawn mower + additional other services, took it to another place and it was a simple fuel pipe that needed to be changed. Just paid $65 to replace it and its been 3 months and no problems.
Parts, sales and service - all amazing
I tried calling about a part and the guy who answered the phone rudely remarked twice that he couldn’t understand anything I was saying. I had just made several other calls looking for this same part with no communication issues to the other stores, so the problem had to have been on their end, which is why the experience was less than satisfactory.
They wanted to change some unnecessary parts on my equipment to get more money out of me. They claimed it requires professional skills and training to do the job. I just watched a YouTube video and fixed it myself, saved $500+.
Nice People.
The staff was friendly and they did a good job repairing my old JD mowing deck for my model 655 lawn tractor
Very dishonest and very high prices! First they tried to work without my warranty then they claimed there is water and junk in my lawnmower. They told my warranty that they found junk and Water, so the warranty refused to pay. The estimate they gave me was to replace the carburetor for around $850 including a very high $120 pickup and drop off.I took it to another place with a high star rating review and there was no need to change the carburetor and no water or junk. The cost to fix it, tune up, change the oil/filter, change battery, spark plugs, $285+$60 pickup and drop off. I was able to save $505.
I brought in my D130 because Im on my third battery in my tractors short life span of 51 hours. There is some sort of electrical problem for sure. The Virginia Tractor mechanic could not find any electrical problem at all that would cause this, but he did determine that I had a leak in the lower crank case seal because he saw oil on the underside of the D130. I talked with him about this and told him that I had done my own oil change several days previously and that there was definitely some oil on some surfaces because of that, but he insisted that the crank case gasket needed to be replaced. He also said that because he saw oil on the traction drive belt, that needed to be replaced too. The bill was going to be about $600 in labor. The more I thought about this, the less sense it made. When I did my oil change, I drained a solid two quarts out of the engine. If I have a gasket leak, how come so much oil was still in the engine? I had previously also just mowed the lawn before I brought the tractor in for service, and I observed zero degradation in traction drive belt performance. Long story short (too late?), I went in and picked up my tractor.I guess the net-net of this is that in my case New Virginia Tractor in Manassas couldnt solve a problem that I knew I had (and the reason I brought it into them in the first place), but solved a number of problems that I didnt have.
While the buying experience at this store is great, their service manager is the most unethical person. He has consistently lied to us, tried to charge for items covered under warranty, completed repairs without even telling us there was an issue then trying to charge for them, and now he is breaching our Platinum Package contract with them. He is incredibly difficult to deal with and very dishonest. The other New Virginia locations do not behave this way so it is mind boggling to me that the Manassas location has been so terrible to deal with (since I believe they are all owned by the same person). Save yourself some trouble and make the trip to Purceville (their service department is EXCELLENT to work with) or Orange.
I have to say that I do not know what any of the previous comments/reviews are about. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences at New Virginia Tractor. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy when I have been there or called for any reason.I would like to comment on a few of the previous comment/reviews:Adam Ciarpello – I have never known someone who “purchased” stolen items to actually have it returned to them later just because they “paid” for it. Did you have a receipt? Did you have a bill of sale? I find it hard to believe that you were given a receipt for stolen property. Why weren’t you questioning that?As for their statement (claimed by you), “if I did not return the equipment it would look like I knew that it was stolen”. I have to agree. In fact, it seems to me that you more than likely did know it was stolen. How could you not? Again, did you get a receipt? How did you pay for the purchase (credit card, check, financing?) If this was a legitimate transaction, you should have proof of purchase. And btw…a male is an actor, a female is an actress.Bob Richard – I don’t know about you, but my warranty is not with New Virginia Tractor, it is with John Deere.Sally Coffey – I don’t know when you were actually in the store, but I have been there three times in the last year and the service manager is a female.
Needed an obscure part for my lawn mower. Ordered online and they not only had it in stock, but ready in under 5 minutes.Semi unrelated - I have owned a D140 mower for almost 5 years now. The batteries always die if not in use. You have a couple options... buy one that doesnt do this, jump off your mower to use it, or keep it on a trickle charger. Virginia Tractor sells trickle chargers which will remedy this problem. They are relatively cheap compared to the headache youre going to go through with batteries, troubleshooting, wasting time & money, etc.I can tear my engine down and rebuild it to fix an oil leak, but it is a lot cheaper and easier to put a quart in every couple weeks...
Salesmen, techs and management are as cool and straightforward As can be
I brought in my Stihl Backpack blower for repairs. They advised me that it would cost nearly $400.00 + to repair a backpack blower that is only $360.00 new. The sales guy informed me that lawn mower mechanics have to be more skilled than auto mechanics to repair these things. He was kind enough to try to cut me a good deal on a new blower. I found a youtube video online that walked me through replacing the carburetor, which I found online for $21.00. After 1 hour of time my blower is running like new. So much for highly skilled mechanics. This place is a joke. I might have brought my tractor, chainsaw, lawnmowers, snowblower there for service but you lost me as a customer by trying to gouge me on the blower. Stay away from this place.
Friendly and helpful folks.
Be cus me dont no thay wr closd for re modling and da giy was so so rud and dindint hav a closd shin
Brought my mower in for repair last year...they did a tune up and fixed a blade problem. It hasnt run since. They refuse to take responsibility and want to charge me an additional 95$ to diagnose the problem after paying $700 for the repair. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
I had the worst experience at this store. They are dishonest and dont stand behind their warranty.
Prices are high but you can get your parts here.
Very helpful
Always good
We buy parts from this business for our church x300 riding lawnmower
