The best place in Mankato to shop for beer, wine, spirits, mixers--whatever you need, MGM has it. The largest selection of wine and beer in the Mankato area, I can always find something new and interesting in their aisles. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I have only had to mention that I enjoy a certain wine, and they can usually find me a similar one to try. Having a party? Youll find something for everyone here.

A lot of assorted alcohol; wine, beer, or hard liquor. Best place to go if youre looking for something specific.

Updated Review after speaking to Owner Greg: Updated to 5 starsAfter speaking with Greg he assured me that it is their policy that when in the public areas of the store while the store is open all employees are to be wearing a face covering. Greg has assured us that this manager was spoken to and reminded that he should only remove his mask/face covering in Employee only areas of the store sealed from the public and outside. Obviously we dont want this employee or anyone to be suffering, thus why we brought it up as COVID has touched far too many lives, and we do understand that it can be difficult at times to breathe through a mask when working physically, especially with activity induced asthma as we suffer from it ourselves; this is why while speaking to Greg it was recommended that he look into a face-shield or more of a respirator style mask as they are less restrictive and are not affected as much by moisture when sweating and will still help prevent spread of droplets: best of both worlds. I have increased the review to 5 stars now, even though the conversation with Greg was tense at times, in the end he assured me that he does take COVID and the safety of his employees and customers seriously, and to the same note he requested that if this is witnessed again to contact him immediately.Initial Review Posting: 1 starI was very disappointed to walk in on Sunday and see a bald/shaved headed employee, later identified as a manager, walking around the entire store with his mask hanging off his ear, not covering his mouth or nose. THIS IS AGAINST STATE and Local STATUTES, if witnessed again it will be reported to the proper regulatory agencies. It has been over a year for Gods sake, does he just not care about his coworkers and customers health? Because thats certainly the message it sends. All other employees I witnessed were wearing their masks just fine, clearly showing it isnt too difficult and is a company policy at least enforced on underlings. If hes a manager he is setting one heck of a bad example for your business, customers, and other employees.

WAAAY better than the north kato store. They take time to ensure a wide variety that changes with demand. Best liquor store in Mankato. Wish there was more fruited sours but thats not because they dont try. they get everyone they can. Will be back time and again.

Large selection but prices higher than most places in town. What really bothered us was that the blonde woman who was cashiering was very rude, condescending and utterly inattentive to us. My boyfriend politely asked for a receipt at time of purchase and the cashier was talking to another worker about something unrelated. She got to us when she had time. While finishing the transaction she kept talking to male employee and my boyfriend politely asked a second time for receipt and was ignored. I then interrupted cashier and asked a third time if we could please have a receipt---this woman acted like it was a :major inconvenience. Plenty of other places in town to buy liquor-----by the way, we spent over $140 so it was a decent size purchase!

Has every option, at least for what I like to buy. But just from walking through they have a little bit of everything.

Anecdotally, MGM feels like it has the most variety and value for their liquor compared to other stores in Mankato. Staff has never disappointed in recommendations either 5/5.

Today was my first (and last) visit to this store. They have a nice place, clean and a huge variety of liquor. However, I had a bad experience and wont be returning. I went up to pay for 5 bottles of wine. Serena informed me that if I buy 6, I automatically get $10 off. So I grabbed one more bottle. When I got to the car, I saw that I had not gotten any discount. Went back in, come to find out there was no discount available! They said I could return the wine if I wanted to, but by this time I was totally frustrated and just wanted to go home. Well, you got me to buy an extra bottle of wine. I wont fall for the buy 6, get $10 off ever again.

Went in for some summer holiday drinks. I was able to easily locate what I was looking for. It was rather busy but still a speedy check out wait. All of the employees smiled at me when I smiled at them. Service was great. I even got a free sample to try something new! Best liquor store in Mankato hands down!

This is THE place to buy adult beverages in Mankato. Best selection, best price and knowledgeable about what they sell. Its worth driving there even if it happens not to be on your way, because you will definitely save money. Also, if youre moving and you need boxes theyll let you have some of theirs (although you may run the risk of looking like an alcoholic in front of your new neighbors).

Called first since it was a hour drive, the girl that answered was very helpful and correct in answering my questions.

Great prices on liquor and beer in bulk. Cheaper prices than most places in town and in surrounding towns. They have more of a selection here than they do at the MGM in Saint Peter too. You can find just about every brand you can think of. They also have lots of deals and sale items in the front. They ID everyone who is with you so be careful about that.

Usually a nice store but I had a bad expirence tonite. I was in Minnesota with my real wisconsin Id, the cashier was very nice but was leery of the wisconsin Id, she gave it to her manager and her manager said it was fake and wouldnt sell to me. Keep in mind it was a real id and I am over 21. I asked him if he could call the cops and verify my Id and he proceeded to say no and told me to get out of the store. I feel like I was treated unfairly and hope bad carma goes to that manager.

Staff is rude and always acts like you’re bothering them if you ask a question. Also they always question my ID just because I’m a short tiny girl..but I’m 23. They literally accused me once of it being a fake and asked my address and I told them and they bent the card then acted all surprised, apologized and gave it back to me. Educate them and teach them common respect. I Only come back because they have the cheapest prices in town, sometimes it’s just not worth the attitude from the cashiers so I spend extra and go to a different store.

My wife got me a mixing kit from Amazon. So, I excitedly head to the mgm store looking to stock the home bar with everything. I had a list of things I was looking for and couldnt really find what I was searching for. Staff were way more interested in stocking the shelves. They did answer one or two questions and went back to what they were doing. And I get it...they dont work on commission. Whats the point of putting any effort in customers coming into the store. Sales arent going to increase paychecks.

Incredible selection for anywhere nearby (other than running up to the cities). The prices are very reasonable and they have really good deals. Staff is helpful as well, although Ive never really tested their knowledge on comparing higher end liquor.

Im appalled when asked for my Id by a manager who was not wearing a mask. I was asked to remove my mask after presenting my commical drivers license. With covid 19 spiking in our area this interaction is the worst one i have ever had. Stay away poor management and no ppe required.

With the lowest prices and the largest selection in town, theres little reason to go elsewhere. The employees generally know a plethora of information about what you are looking for and can help you find it. Since theres so much to choose from. I would say that MGM is like a candy store for liquor connoisseurs and alcoholics alike.

This is a large liquor store!!!! Tons of options for anything you are looking for. They offer sample testings of different alcohol, depending upon what product is being promoted. Overall great pricing!! This is the store you wanna go to for ALL types of alcohol

The selection is almost overwhelming but there are people available to help you find what you are looking for and they are very knowledgeable about their beer, wine, & spirits.

The selection at MGM always amazes me. As someone that has really gotten into microbrews over the last few years, they have everything you would expect and many things you wouldnt, for southern Minnesota. The liquor and wine selection is outstanding too.The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It is by far the area leader in both selection and service. I highly recommend.

Great sale prices and wide selections

I have to hand it to this place; they have a great selection! They happened to have bottles of both the 2016 and 2017 Surly Darkness on hand when I visited on 12/23/17. Considering that brew used to be tough to find, having more than one year available this time of year is a pleasant surprise. Also, the staff went out of their way to help me find what I came for. When the first person I asked didnt know where the item was located, they found another staff member who efficiently pointed me in the right direction.

I have been going to this MGM for about 2 years now and the staff have always been friendly! There are even a few who recognize me and sometimes we chat while at check out, nice to know they dont just ring you up and say have a good day. Friendly conversation is key in a place where you want your customers to return!!! Best part about this location is I cant count how many times I have gotten off work later than expected and rush to get there before they close and I have walked inside literally 2-3 mins before closing time and they still greet meet happily and I have never noticed any annoyance from anyone as most places would frown upon that. Thank you MGM Mankato!!!! Youre the best around!!!

MGM has such a massive variety of beer, liquor and other treats that you we would be hard pressed to not find exactly what you are looking for. The prices are also very good and the sales are crazy. I am just happy that they have Grainbelt and Lost Lake personally. The staff are cool and knowledgeable on their products which is nice.In the end, if I need beer or liquor in Mankato, this place is my go-to.

First, its a great place, a nice huge selection available for anything youre in the mood for. Second, the staff are so nice, and quite wonderfully helpful. Giving their genuine opinions, to help decide what to get. The atmosphere is pleasant, uplifting, and cheerful, everyones always in a good mood, and its not hard to be when youre there. With them being open now on Sundays nice as well, makes it less busy. I recommend the Strawberry Moscato they carry, its sweet, but not too sweet, definitely a refreshing, and delicious dessert wine to perfect the evening.

I debated writing this review until tonight, after seeing that Im not the only person who has had issues with the customer service. I just recently turned 21 and I decided to give this place a try. Ive only been there twice but now never again. The first time I went in an asked one of workers were a certain bottle was. She gave me a dirty look and kept saying over and over that I needed to hurry up and pick what you want. I guess I was supposed to know where everything was the first time I went there. I figured maybe the worker had a long day and thats fine. I went there for the second time which proved my suspicions correct. I went in there to get a bottle, I was reading the label on the back of a bottle when a worker came up to me and started yelling at me saying if you dont bring that up front right now I wont serve you, we are closing right now! My girl who was two aisles away didnt even get warned by that worker as he passed her to come yell at me. I will make sure to spend my money somewhere else.

Solid selection, but very anti-consumer practices. They refuse to post prices online or give them over the phone. When i was price comparing in store the store manager approached me and got onto me for what he thought was taking pictures.Heard through the grapevine of a 3rd party project that will have all their prices posted online so people can actually price compare. Ill update here when I find out more info about it.
