While the covid pandemic brought such hardship, challenges, and sadness to so many, it has been heartening to see creative people finding a way to reach out and share their creativity in new ways, and usually for nothing more than just giving back to the community. Tap dancers from around the world pulled together to continue to learn to dance and share what they knew. Julie at Main Street Dance and Music seems to epitomize that spirit. She has been sharing free tap dance lessons, steps, advice in a fun and inclusive environment on her YouTube page. Im grateful for it.

Main Street Dance and Music is great! Ive seen many shows, brought my son to the baby music classes, attended adult fitness classes there and now participating in the online tap classes. Theres something for everyone!

This studio accommodates to every level. Julie is very personable and laid back, which makes the dance experience more positive, in my opinion!

Julie’s free online tap classes have allowed me to get back into tap despite the pandemic and my anxiety. 10/10 would recommend.

Julie and her staff at Main Street Dance are great, my daughter attended the Musical Theater program last year and my family and I were blown away by the amazing performances they had prepared throughout the year. They were amazing!! My daughter also took piano lessons here. The best part of Main Street dance is the staff, they are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Main Street for anyone interested in getting their child into a dance or musical program!

My two daughters have loved taking ballet and tap at Main Street Music & Dance. The teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and eager to be with their classes. Even the youngest dancers learn the proper dance terms and are given opportunities to grow and excel, as well as have fun! We’ve very much enjoyed being a part of this studio.

Can’t recommend Julie enough!! A true 5 star experience.

My ten year old just switched to this dance school. It is a low-stress alternative to competition schools that offers singing and acting in addition to dance. I am very happy with an extra free conditioning class, when taking multiple classes, where the instructor breaks down turns and other dance steps.

We love Main Street Dance and Musics toddler music and dance class, its a great way to burn some energy, get some basic music and coordination skills, and meet other area parents. I think I get as much out of socializing during the class as my 2 year old does! We love hanging out with Ms. Julie and all of our friends!

As a teacher of the youngest ballet dancers up through the adult tap students at Main Street Dance and Music, it’s always a great day at work for me. Being in this profession for over 22 years no place has ever felt more like home. I think of all of my students as my own children and love each and everyone one of my colleagues.

My daughter did not learn anything here. I was told by owner if I want my daughter to really learn piano I will have to pay her more. So poor manners and managing skills. What a waste of time and money.

Im very excited for my 5 year old to start here. As a reputable school in the community, Julie has not dissapointed. She has been extremely helpful in getting us all the information we need to begin and we are looking forward to a fabulous year!

My granddaughter Maeve took dance lessons here for a year in kindergarten. It was a wonderful experience and she still remembers it fondly (shes in 3rd grade now) We would have stayed but it was 18 miles each way from our home in Bernardsville. The school I switched her to was 2x the money and nobody ever smiled. The kids would come in looking like they were heading off to do a days labor. We left after 1 semester and found a school in Far Hills which is perfect. I am so happy that she started at Main Street Dance and had such a FANTASTIC experience because if she had had the bad experience 1st she might not have continued and now lives to go to dance school. Thank you so much!

I walk by a lot. I see lots of happy kids coming out and going in. That might be recommendation enough!

My son enjoys his guitar lessons here. They were very nice by allowing him to use the schools guitar for his first few lessons before we decided to purchase a guitar ourselves. They also have an amplifier at the school for him to use so we dont have to carry our amplifier back and forth like we did at a school prior to moving to Bridgewater.We also like that the classroom is large and well lit, also unlike our previous school out of state where the room seemed more like a storage room in the back of a music store.I would recommend this music school to anyone near Hillsborough or Manville.

My child loves her ballet dance classes. We looked all over Somerset county including Bridgewater and Hillsborough, but couldnt find a dance school that had nice small classes like we found here in Manville.
