I recently had need to store household items before moving to a new home. Since I had used this facility when first moving into town years ago and was familiar with the site, I decided to use them again..This latest experience was even better than the last. General Manager Shaine Rittman and Manager Linda Rosario each went over and above their call of duty to make the move in and the move out as stress free as possible; especially with the use of their Compass u-haul truck. I have been renting from Compass of Manville for almost two years now and I give it a five star rating. The facility is in great condition, well secured and maintained, and the service is outstanding.Managers, Shane and Linda, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They simply go above and beyond to accommodate their clients. When you explain your situation and your needs(as they may change over time) they listen, understand and work with you to find the right storage solution that suits your needs and your budget.I have found Compass rates to be competitive, affordable and reasonable. In fact, if you find a lower rate elsewhere in the area, they will beat it. However, Ive had to do little, if any, searching because its already taken care of by the time you get your rate!If you ever have a problem/concern/question and leave a message, your call is ALWAYS returned promptly and by a friendly, interested voice.Renting storage space really had never been a concern for me but now with changes associated with the pandemic it has become a longer term necessity. However, as long as it is something I need, I have no doubt that I have found a leading provider in the industry where customer satisfaction is a top priority!

I have been at this unit since 2014.Like 7 years. A long time. Climate control kept everything in good condition.The staff are good people and Shane was and still is the best.He is a real down to earth type of guy and will go the full circle to work something out with you.We appreciated your best for us.So all our thanks to Shane and Linda too.

If I could give 10 stars I would! The staff at Compass Self-Storage in Manville are amazing! So helpful, knowledgeable, and lets not forget super friendly. I only needed to use their storage service for a few months while my husband I were in between moves, but for the times I needed to borrow the truck or come visit the locker, I was never disappointed. The rate we had was very affordable and didnt feel the wallet strain that some other storage places tend to put on customers. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to make sure their belongings are going to be safe and protected.

We moved in during the height of Covid and couldn’t have been more pleased by the service we received from Compass Storage, and more specifically, Shaine Rittman. The facility is extremely clean and the office is well run. Shaine provided excellent and professional service. He took his time explaining each step of the process and provided answers to all of my questions. Moving out was even easier as everything was handled over the phone. I would highly recommend Compass Storage and Shaine Rittman.

They were super helpful and accommodating. I shopped around the Manville area to find a storage place and all other facilities employees were rude and disinterested in actually selling their units most just said go to the website. Also, pricing at Compass is way better.

They were without question the best to use. Not only were they very accommodating but the best priced in the area. Linda and Shane were very professional and went completely out of their way to help us when we were in a pinch and needed to move out. Friendly, nice and a great find.

We highly recommend Compass Self Storage and have recommended their facility to both my friends and family recently. The Manville NJ location on Beekman Street is easily accessible, extremely clean, organized and the units are affordably priced, they offer the best value and price when compared to other storage facilities in the area.They provide excellent Customer Service, at the Manville location specifically, ask for Shane if you can. He was extremely helpful with us, he answered our many questions, spent time showing us around the property and explained all information with great detail. He is friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. He did not rush us and we came armed with about 25 specific questions ranging from all topics on everything from the cost of the units, to the security of the facility. He is extremely knowledgeable and competent and was able to answer all of our questions.We ended up choosing a larger unit than what we originally anticipated. It is a Climate controlled Indoor Unit located behind the gates of the facility and within one of the buildings This unit fit our needs perfectly.Another reason this review deserves 5 stars is due to the security of the units. There is a touch key pad that requires you to enter your specific code to even gain access to the property, then a large gate surrounding the units. The security cameras and surveillance of the storage units is top notch. The security was another important factor for us when making this decision.Once inside the main office, you can see the multiple TV monitors all watching and keeping an eye on everything 24 hours a day/7 days a week, 365 days a year.In summary: Excellent Customer Service, Affordable Pricing, Clean and Organized Units, Many Choices and sizes to chose from to fit whatever your storage needs might be. Highly Recommended. 5 Stars

Great pricing, an excellent staff (who is willing to go the extra mile for you!) strong security, and they have a truck that you can borrow!Between the individually alarmed units and the cylinder locks, this is probably the most secure storage complex Ive ever rented at.

Very affordable units with great service.

Ive been a customer since 2016. Shaine has always been great to work with, and is really helpful. If I ever have a question, it gets answered quickly. Very easy to work with the staff, and the location is convenient as well. One time I needed another unit on very short notice, and Shaine made it happen within an hour. Looking forward to many more years being a customer! Excellent service.

Mr. Rittman is the consummate professional. We have maintained a small storage unit at Compass Self Storage in Manville, NJ for more than 4 years. I had a special situation recently and the staff there came up with several different solutions for me. In the end, Mr. Rittman, the General Manager of the facility, not only solved my problem but he used the solution that was easiest for me, not him. This is because of the excellent customer service. In that time, I needed to change units because of my storage needs and I got a discounted unit. There were also many times when Shaine would phone me before I would get a late fee. Shaine is supportive and professional. I feel safe and secure at this facility.

Shane was very helpful and made the transaction very easy. Went out of his way to make sure i knew how to use the gate and walked me to my unit. He also had a great sense of humor. The facility was well kept from what i was able to see. The double doors helped moving easier.

Needed a climate control storage shed. Called around, looked on internet, and Compass Self Storage was best price at close location.But am really writing a 5 star review because of the person who helped me when I went to check it out.Shaine was so helpful. Above and beyond. He reviewed the prices of the units, walked me to the locations so I could see for myself the differences. When I decided which one I wanted, he was fast and efficient with the paperwork in the office, giving clear options on payment method, insurance, etc. Then he went with me to instruct on using the lift and try the lock system. I have used other storage properties Before but this property by far has the best staff and property is top notch prices are great toO!! Compass isn’t the only self-storage facility in town, but without a question the very best. Let’s face it, all storage facilities offer what their customers need, (a place to put the things they don’t have room for, but aren’t ready or able to part with) at the best possible price. So the difference really comes down to the staff and that’s where Compass far outclasses all the others. Shane and Linda are fantastic. When we first opened our account with Compass, Linda was a temporary employee. She did such an incredible job that I was amazed that she hadn’t been hired as a full-time employee. It didn’t take long until she was made full-time. Since the first day we met, Linda has been helpful and professional. She is able to patiently answer all of our questions and to show us the best units that would suit our needs. She is a real pleasure to talk with and a pleasure to know.Shane is also a terrific person who is kind and willing to help in every way. He has gone out of his way to help us to make our experience with Compass very positive. He is a bright conversationalist and knows his job incredibly well.Another great perk that Compass offers is free use of a 15-foot moving truck. The only cost is $20 for insurance which covers the truck from end to end no matter what might happen. This is a great benefit that we were happy to use. Another truck rental was offering the use of pick-up trucks for $75 for the first 45 minutes and then $20 for every 15 minute increment. What??? If you add that up it gets expensive fast... even if you only had the truck for 8 hours. That’s why we were so happy when we found out that Compass offers a much larger truck for a much smaller price. Smaller being free!I believe for any review to be credible and thorough it should mention at least one aspect of the business that is less than ideal. That said, I have only had one problem at Compass and that is with the area between the parking lot and the outside elevator. For whatever reason, there are long, shallow steps connecting the two spaces rather than a smooth ramp. When we were moving our things into Compass I brought a piece of plywood and used it as a makeshift ramp but it wasn’t the greatest. I have spilled the contents of my cart more than once and have since decided to just carry my boxes from the elevator to my car rather than risk any breakage. If there could be a ramp installed, customers would be able to easily wheel the cart between the elevator and their cars. #buildarampIf your experience is anything at all like ours, you will not find a better storage facility than Compass no matter where you go. Take my advice and go there first. You will be glad you did.Personal PS to Shane, Linda: A thousand thanks for all that you did to accommodate us. You have given us peace of mind and many fewer worries.

I had a storage unit in Hillsborough before coming over to Compass Self Storage. My son recommended this facility because of the location & the Climate Controlled units. He told me if I had any questions or problems, to speak to Shaine Rittman. I thought you should know how lucky Compass is to have the staff at this location. Whenever I would call, I was never treated like a big interruption in their busy day. These people deserve a pat on their backs for their professionalism and kindness.

I rented 2 units at Compass Self Storage in Manville over a 2-year period, and I have nothing but praise for the staff and facility. Both Shaine and Loretta have been friendly, outgoing, and helpful each and every time Ive had either phone or face-to-face contact with them. Shaine has even assisted with lifting some heavy items. And on a few occasions, Loretta has called to remind me that my monthly payment is due. Theyve gone above and beyond to make their customers happy, and I cant thank them enough for their stellar service. Not only would I do business again with Compass (thanks to Shaine and Loretta), but I would highly recommend them. Once again, thanks to both of them for making my experience with Compass so pleasant.

My 10x10 unit went from $149 in 2012 to $169 in 2016 to $268 in 2018 to $300 in 2019! Much cheaper units a mere 2 miles away.
