Today was not my first experience going into the Maple Grove store. Now I remember why I try not to go there and Im not going to let them blame it on Covid. The employees always seem to be bunched up on one or two customers and this has been over a decade. Once you get someones attention, things go well but you have to get someones attention.
People like to bash Guitar Center but I have to say that Ive never had a bad experience here. Passionate employees is always a plus.
These folks always have what I need! Very knowledgeable staff with great prices!
I came in looking for a specific bundle, couldnt find it so I asked and the guy showed it right in front of me lol. This place is awesome! Spent less than I expected too.
Honestly this was the best I’ve experience I’ve ever had at ANY store! The employees are nothing but amazing. The store also had a great selection of percussion instruments! This is the place to be if you want to have a 10/10 experience. Also… Spencer is the man to go to for any questions you may have. He’s very polite and helpful.
Helpful staff, purchased my first guitar and they made sure I got all of the parts and accessories needed to play.
Bought an LTD EC-1000 and its absolutely beautiful. Plays like a dream and sounds amazing. They guys at Guitar Center were friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. Good experience :)
Jonny and Brandon were so great in helping us. We havent played guitar in 10+ years and they helped get us back in the game. Could have easily hustled us but instead helped us save money and get us the equipment needed.
I just got excellent over the phone customer service from Alex @ Guitar Center in Maple Grove! Customer for life! Thank you!
A great place to shop for all your musical needs ! They have a great selection of guitars, amps, basses, etc ! I enjoy this place ! If they dont have what you need, they can order it for you ! The customer service is top notch !
The stores inventory has shrank by at least 20% since the Fall of 2020. The quality/price point of the guitars carried continues to decline. These days I call ahead to make sure they have what Im looking for before going to the store.
I typically avoid big box stores, but I was headed out of town and needed some mic stands and cables. I went right back to pro audio and was helped instantly. Their service was a 9 out of 10.
Great selection of used pedals most of the time, good customer service but guitars are maintained Ok like any other guutar center
Had my guitar tuned up and restrung. It was done faster than I expected and sounds great!
I went in for my birthday to get a bass knowing very minimal about the instrument and i left extremely satisfied with way more knowledge than i entered with. amazing service, wonderful helpful employees that are willing to help
Huge shout out to Brandon! He really listened to what my husband was looking for, and after looking at a few of the guitars on the hooks in the guitar room he said, Let me go in the back and grab one I think you might like. It ended up being exactly what we were looking for! Great customer service, it really felt like Brandon listened to the different things we wanted, answered our questions, and overall gave us a really customized experience. Thank you!
Walked in needing just picks... Walked out with a guitar and 3 stands! lol! Who doesnt love Guitar Center?
The big guy in the accustic room is super helpful and hes not pressuring you into buying the most expensive thing there and hes super knowledge able helped me pick out a cheap guitar. I want to say his name was Brian or something look for a tall guy with long crazy curly hair he will help you get what you need.Extremely satisfied neither my experience
They carried nord keyboards... nice...
I’ve recently been interested in guitar and am just starting to get into it. I had an old guitar i was looking to repair so I went to guitar center and right away the man up front acted annoyed i was there. Almost as if he figured i didn’t know what i was doing. Even though that’s true, he made me feel stupid for just going. Need my guitar fixed, just not by them.
They rip you off for selling your guitars
Always feel rushed here, but man, lotta beautiful guitars
Didnt spend too much time.Good place to practice briefly if you get the urge.
Theyre so helpful. Im just getting into bass, and the person who helped me (I cannot remember his name, sadly) was amazing with helping me pick out my first amp! Gave me all the details I could ask for, and then some. It was much appreciated.
Really helpful people, great place for music instruments
Employees where busy but within 3 minutes came over to check on us. We got our questions answered and felt informed when we left the Maple grove location.
Went to the Maple Grove Guitar Center yesterday with my son. We were planning on buying a handful of merchandise. We both put masks on before entering the store, but my sons mask fell down below his nose a couple of times while shopping in the store. 2 different people scolded my son because his mask kept falling down slightly below his nose. Masks dont always fit perfectly and sometimes you just cant help it if they fall down a little. Anyhow, after the 2nd person scolded my son we just put everything back and left without buying anything. With such rude customer service I will NEVER shop at Guitar Center again! They will never get any of money and I will make sure everyone I know is aware of how rude they are at that store!! Guitar Center is not the only place to buy instruments and musical merchandise. Please support your locally owned music shops and stop supporting Guitar Center.
Professional to the max, plus got what I needed.
My first time ever going in a guitar center location. The customer service manager gave me some great options to choose from. He provided great customer service. The store had a cool vibe and the staff was super friendly. I am happy with my purchase. I would visit again.
Great place to buy all your equipment! I feel like family when I walk there! Always lots of assistance and knowledgeable staff! My go to guy is Christian Walz!
I went in to buy my 9 year old son his first guitar. We saw a red guitar marked clearance for $49.99, I said to him,”here’s your first guitar.” After excellent customer service we had roughly $150 in accessories for a total of $199.99. We went to check out. The guitar suddenly was $179, for a new total of $329.99. I thought the store would honor their pricing, I was wrong. The store wanted me to pay the difference despite it being their error. There is no worse feeling as a consumer than when you feel as though a bargain has been found only to have the rug pulled from under your feet a few minutes later. My 9 year old son was crushed. We all agreed that we will never step one foot into any Guitar Center for as long as we live. Be very careful about their “sale” items.
Spencer was knowledgeable, super helpful, and clearly well-rested.
Johnny did a super job on getting my guitar action right. Highly recommend for guitar repairs.
Went with the hopes of finding a less expensive trumpet. After calling and being told that they DO have it in stock, we went to pick it up and they did not have it and I was forced to get the more costly one. Also, my daughter, who is 9 and ADHD and sensory sensitivities, was not allowed in the store without a mask, claiming it is the law and she has to wear one. NOT WHEN YOU HAVE MEDICAL CONDITIONS!
Charlie was very helpful and friendly. Very cool place.
I do not think I can say enough about every person who works at this store. Every time I walk in (even when busy) they work very hard to get you what you need. They made some dreams come true, owning my first Gibson guitar. All the employees are very knowledgeable and have a passion for music and every type of player. Thank you. Highly recommend and will be back.
Was planning to purchase a couple of martin guitars and was going to spend a substantial amount. I took my daughter with so she could play the guitars. However the shortsited manager kicked us out. My daughter has a medical condition that prevents her from safely wearing a mask. What irritated me is that the manager was very rude and would not even listen. The sales people did not seem to.mind that she couldnt wear a mask as we had been in the store for about 15 minutes when the manager decided to push us out. When are all the idiots going to realize that masks dont work. If they did the numbers would go down. I certainly wont be back there for anything in the future.
I had a tremendous experience here Johnny who works on guitars was absolutely awesome he knows what hes talking about. If you have a problem with your 🎸 or need some strings changed go in and see Johnny I highly recommend him. Have a 💎🎸 playing day!
Matt and Kelso were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My experience was excellent.
This is one of the nicest guitar centers in the twin cities area. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and professionaland they are not sitting pressuring you to buy anything. This also has to be one of the cleanest guitar centers in the twin cities.
Awesome staff, organized store.
A-A-Awesome! Mr. B-Train was VERY helpful and professional. I also experienced a miraculous healing of my right bicep while in the presence of the pro audio staff.
Far from what it used to be. It used to be packed floor to ceiling with neat rows and rows of shiny gear. Now it is half empty, messy, and cluttered, like Sears and Kmart stores were near the end.
Staff have their heads up their bottoms...
Im not sure why I keep giving this place the opportunity to irritate me anymore. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to waste your time with the expectation of getting anything close to decent customer service. This is the only place Ive ever been to where I have been talked out of purchasing something by an employee. Loved the product, wanted the product, then told the cashier that I wanted to purchase the product and got no understanding of what was going on. Then today after spending a half hour in the store browsing then mentioning to a member of the staff that I wanted assistance with picking out a bass nobody showed up. Thanks for wasting more of my time. Thanks Johnny for acknowledging me and trying to get me assistance, I just got tired of waiting.Update: After exchanging multiple emails with customer service (Corporate) the Customer Service Manager from the Maple Grove store had sent me an Email. I had sent a response back in September but never heard anything from him after that. Not sure what happened but I ended up ordering a really nice Fender Bass and a bunch of other gear from Sweetwater.
Great instruments and they have good sales going on right now
Great prices and helpful customer service
Helpful guys. I had no idea what kind of strings or picks to buy for my daughters first guitar... I found out in rapid fashion. I had to wait to get help for a couple minutes. The store was a bit busy, but Im glad I went there . Oh.... BTW... .12 strings and a variety pack of picks so my daughter can figure out what works best for her.
During COVID, theyre being nice and cautious, limiting people in the store, requiring masks, and big on social distancing. I wouldnt step in the place w/o that. Their purchasing system on line was a bit of a problem, they had marked all equipment as returned so it was difficult to exchange a light that was marked as returned. They eventually figured it out. I like the helpful and courteous employees but need to take away a star because of the high costs in comparison to competitors.
I gave it 4 stars because it wasnt very big. And I didnt spend much time checking everything out. All guitars for sale could be plugged into (Vintage)amps for sale and played. The vintage amps on display were super cool!
Looking for something for our autistic 10 yr old grandson to beat on that would give him that outlet but also experience the many sounds of drumming. Jason helped us find the perfect small electronic drum kit which fit our budget and hooks to headphones, which his parents will appreciate! Thanks Jason!!
Very busy but very good service
Controlled entry, sanitizer upon entering.. good to go. Good response to covid, nice as always!
I walked in to this store not knowing what to buy. I played some acoustic guitar in my younger days (20 years or so) so thought I might get back into it. I had the instrument picked out before I walked in an changed my mind. Im now the proud owner of an electric guitar.I know nothing about the so bought something basic for now. Staff was awesome and told me what I would need to start. This was also with the intention of getting something I could use and learn for my churches youth group nights/events.Needless to say they steered me the right way. Im very happy with the service I received.
Not sure what’s going on with this location, but they had hardly anything there. Very lacking in selection when they used to be packed
Customer service was great, all good there.Selection was left wanting. Gibson and Fender were fine. Mostly lower end on others(Jackson,Ibanez,Gretch)which is great for beginners but not much fun for some. No Kramer, EvH, G&L, PRS, Music Man( some bass only) ESP so on and so forth.Amps were good too. Small stuff only and limited as well.Parts and effects were few. Drums were weak but edrums had a good selection. Cymbals too. Keys were few but decent.Overall not too thrilled.
Great service
I brought in my guitar today, because my string was buzzing on my classical guitar. Johnny was very helpful, by answering all my questions and fixing the buzz! Thanks Johnny!
Awesome place with good people.
Walked in here today to look at a $3000 guitar.Had my mask on and some sales guy came up. Asked if he could help and what I was looking forI had to pull my mask down in order to face open my phone so I could get the product numberHe literally watched me and knew what I had to doHe starts barking about the mask and that I need the mask on.I showed him again as if he didn’t already see that I was unlocking my phoneThere needs to be a little common sense in the worldWill not buy anything hereAnd a side noteAnother review said his daughter was not allowed in without a mask even though she had a medical condition
The sales clerk was awesome in pricing my guitar, and he didnt pressure me with anything
Who doesnt like toy stores? I guess those that didnt know how to play with the toys. So buy a guitar and start learning. You can find good deals here in almost all price ranges. I bought a guitar and bass here that were both used and have served me well. I drool when looking at their inventory, both drums and guitars. Staff makes me feel like a hip grandpa but its not their fault.
Manager is definitely very rude person and has no sense of customer service. I certainly wont be patronizing this place ever.
This store rocks! Literally and figuratively. We drove down from Fargo and walked in at 10am just when they opened and were treated like royalty. Jeyson told us more about our guitar(s) and how to care for them in the future. He took care of use better than we could have ever anticipated. This is true customer service and will bring us back many times.
They always have great gear, but they need to do an inventory check on their guitars to make sure they work properly. Bought 2 guitars last week and had to return one of them twice! Either hire more guys or take your time with the customers to make sure they are totally satisfied with the purchases they make.
Honestly, I never feel comfortable at Guitar Center. Its never obvious where to go if you have questions or need help with something. The employees arent exactly approachable or friendly. I am only ever there to pick up gifts for the musicians in my life and I feel like the employees can tell that and so dont find it prudent to be helpful to me.
Walked out with an Acoustic Guitar and a hardshell case! Staff was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. No high pressure to make a sale. My son and granddaughter are going to be taking lessons. PS - they have all kinds of stringed instruments, percussion and keyboards.
In general love Guitar center but this location messed up my order so instead of the normal four stars I’d provide I dropped it. Not only my order was wrong I was charged twice and it took several calls to get it fixed. That all being said, the people were always nice and offered help and tried. It is likely this was a one time thing so I’d certainly give them another shot. Don’t take this somewhat negative experience as the be all end all.
After the return...well see what I think Dan has been a nice Dude...
Wonderful experience!!! We will be back. My son got a guitar and needed beginner pick. Hes 7years old and found his happy place.
I have had a great experience each time I shop with this store. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They have gone out of their way to treat me right when I am making a new purchase. Johnny, the guitar tech is also knowledgeable, helpful and extremely helpful.Employees make the difference and this store has great ones.
I had a bad experience at this location. Customer service was terrible. The guy that helped me was rude. Did not even attempt to try to help me. Made me feel stupid and rushed. Horrible.
Great location if youre looking for intermediate or beginner gear. They have a few high end guitars, but theyre selling to a demographic that has more beginner players and kids starting off. Thats not bad, as their selection in that range is fantastic. They have all your accessories, pedals, amps, strings and things. Theyll also order in anything youre looking for. If youre looking to buy a high end guitar off the wall I recommend the Bloomington location.
Employees have always been kind and helpful. I dont doubt that they truly enjoy music and working with others to help create music.
I bought my first guitar from Guitar Center when I was a teenager. This time around was for my son. I brought him here and he picked out his very first acoustic guitar. Let the legacy live on! Thank you Guitar Center.
Im just learning how to play guitar. I came in told the my budget and they helped my dreams of being a musician come to reality. The team is really helpful, kind and considerate. They didnt pressure me to buy anything I didnt want.
As usual, helpful and friendly staff. I came in to pick up an online order before it was ready and they immediately processed the order. Decent selection but a bit smaller than other area GC’s.
Hard to find if youre not from the area. Good layout inside though. Everybody was helpful and the guitar repair tech knew what he was talking about.
Nothing in stock and very unhelpful for equipment.
Guitar center is a dangerous place for me to go!I mean this in the most positive and humorous way. They have so many cool instruments and pro Audio toys here.If you are even thinking about buying some gear and you cant afford it, dont go. 😉If you are looking for used instruments I would recommend going to their website and shopping the Nationwide database. And then anything can be shipped to your local Guitar center.they are very knowledgeable and I was treated like I actually knew what I was doing when I was there.I will be going back.
I order most of my music gear through Sweetwater.com
Historically Ive had not so good service at guitar centers. But this one was different. I walked they got in the right area and shortly after I had someone in the department who knew what I needed, got me in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. I forget his name, but I hope he knows Ill be back to this particular guitar center because of him.
Gave me a free guitar. Was a $599.00 value. Great deal.
I love this store! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great variety of instruments at a price range that fits any budget.
Wall to wall axes fuitar players dream
Do not go in here if you can not wear a mask, even if you have a medical condition, they will discriminate against you, staff are extremely rude and intolerant of people, it would seem that they are more concerned about political correctness than doing business.
Good place to get all your needs for your guitar
The staff here is very helpful but usually seem to be understaffed. I bought a guitar for my husband for his birthday and he was delighted! Thank you for your help Guitar Center!
Just visited Guitar Center for the first time. I was in awe when I first arrived at the store. I didnt realize they had all kinds of audio equipment I needed. I dont play guitar but it almost made me inquire about signing up for lessons. You need to check it out! Very cool place!!
Sweet guitar for the kid. 🎸🎸
Very helpful picking out bass strings. Loved that we could sit down with some guitars too
The employees were super nice and helpful! My brother bought a whole drum set and everything else and they knew a lot about what was good and what wasnt.
I have bought more than my fare share of equipment from them over the years. This last trip was to pick up some strings and a reed..... Apparently if your not looking to spend hundreds of dollars your treated like your going to steal! I have never been followed around a store like that before. Creepy. I am currently looking for a bass guitar for my son but it will not be purchased here.
I worked with Dan to get financing information on a Top of the line Taylor acoustic. He was very patient and friendly with me. I would for sure recommend this store.
Love guitar center!
I Was browsing and thinking what keyboard and ukulele to buy for my daughter until a salesperson came over and demonstrated one of the ukulele by playing on it... Thats definitely helped me to make a choice, bought the first one he showed, no regret.
