Bought cedar grove compost from Home Depot and used it on a section of our lawn. It had glass in it. DO NOT BUY. After my child got a small piece of glass in her foot I checked reviews and find others complaining of glass, plastic, batteries, etc. The integrity of this compost is poor and dangerous...glad we didn’t use it in the garden as well.
I’ve been using Cedar Grove compost for years and the growth and abundance increases each year in my garden. Granted the operation does produce smell, but the company has in the past, and continues today, to work to alleviate that problem. Regarding the glass and plastic residue individuals have found in the compost: we’re the cause of that, not Cedar Grove. If we weren’t so quick to use and discard packaging the material wouldn’t be there in the finished product. What they’re doing is a valuable service and the product they’re providing is well worth the “problems” people have commented on. Cedar Grove, I give you two thumbs up.
Bought 3 yards of 2 wayTopsoil and it’s great! Very friendly staff and kind people. I’ve to see the results of our lawn though.
Cedar Grove is the best compost producing company in the nation. I am very familiar with many other programs and companies and I am confident their product is fantastic. Yes, you need to water the plants, but if you give them water, the compost helps holding it and the plants thrive. In veggie gardens we get huge crops and in ornamental plantings we get beautiful growth and blooms. In ornamental growing we cover the compost with woody mulch to limit weed growth as weed seeds know when they see a good thing and will land and grow faster than you can say weed. The NW is so lucky to have access to the compost. Other areas have limited resources and food waste compost runs anywhere from 75-150 dollars a yard! At Cedar Grove you get all the good with low cost. Thank you!
Garbage product, filled with plastic bits (that I could see), a bone and glass. Pulling up on a hot Summer Day was a massive mistake as the smell was intolerable. This is composting done wrong (when composting goes anaerobic it stinks or when imbalanced levels of composted scraps are used and creates high levels of greenhouse gases.)--Truly a pointless venture and there is much better compost to be found elsewhere....
I bought my Cedar Grove Compost at Black Diamond Coal. When I inquired what it was they said it was Cedar Grove Compost. That made me happy because it’s very close to my home. I was very disappointed with the compost. Found 3 old AA batteries in there as well as lots of small pieces of what looked like pieces of plastic bags. Also found a very large piece of hard plastic. Won’t do that again.
Great compost! Yet another year of a great vegi harvest from our garden! Used with the best compost!!
Total lack of decency and their company emits noxious odors miles away. They have multiple lawsuits against them and lawmakers in their pockets. They best way to take them down is to stop doing business with them. They are hurting families and our community with their stench and horrible practices.
Would rather see my scraps and yard waste go to good use back in the garden etc then lay waste in a dump. Seems to me some people should have done their research on what lays in their local community before buying a home there. Soooooo much whining about a business that has been there long before you came along Im sure !!! #LoveMeSomeCompost.
Best compost around and love the selection of premixed garden soil. Mulch/compost mix is my go to for everything.
Excellent products, services and quality! Our garden are happy! Thank you Cedar Grove!
I screened 3 bags of Cedar Grove organic compost and found little shards of glass, plastic fruit stickers, bits of nylon fibers, and other bits of plastic including something like a Lego peice. Is glass and plastic considered organic?
This place stinks. Literally. They have gotten smellier and smellier as time goes on despite promises to improve their composting practices. Their composting is negated by the huge amounts of air pollution they produce. Please do not purchase their products or support this company in any way.
Cedar Grove has ruined more perfect summer evenings in Marysville Washington than any other entity on the planet. They stink. They have stunk up Marysville every summer that I have lived here, and thats got to be about 15 years, now. Right now the entire town smells like a giant garbage can. Its over 70 degrees outside and I would love to sit in my back yard, sip some ice tea and enjoy the sunset. But once again I am forced inside to comfort my family from the nauseating stink that emanates from the selfish, inconsiderate actions of Cedar Grove Composting. It doesnt seem to matter to them how much the people around them suffer because of their insistence on spreading this uncontrollable stink all over Marysville, causing not just me but thousands of people to suffer and be deprived of a few moments of peace outside, enjoying the few days of summer we get. Cedar Grove Composting, YOU STINK! I will make every effort to spread the news (like you spread your noxious odor) that you put your corporate profits above the safety and comfort of an entire city and region. I am physically and emotionally sickened and repulsed that we as a city and region have had to endure this torture all this time, and Cedar Grove Composting continues to just pretend that they care while they still pile up money like they pile up their stink. Do Snohomish County a favor. Make sure you dont purchase anything associated with Cedar Grove.
Compost is full of plastic, glass, ane metal. Sent CG an email with no response. Takes hours to sift through, I have three yards of this junk that will take weeks to use instead if the one day it should have.
Best place for your yard project😀
They charge too much to drop off yard waste and they are horrible neighbors, they have hired a lobbyist group to enact legislation allowing them to emit all the noxious odors they want without any liability. please do not support this business.
Love this place 🥰🥰
Friendly lady at the counter directed me where to go and dropped off a bunch of tree limbs for a competitive price. Will go here again for sure.
Great products! Great people
Best compost for garden beds.
We working so hard lol
Great prices service sucked. The first load we waited 10min to get told where to go. Our second load we showed up 8min before closing no one was even at the yard waste building. waited till 10 min after close and finally just pulled up and dumped the load ourselves, no one ever showed up. The lady at the scale was very nice though.
