Though it seems a bit cramped at times this small local gaming store has two floors to meet up with your gaming buddies. Has varied pieces of terrain and quite a few tables to play on. Rich is very knowledgeable when it comes to the hobby and will gladly suggest what he thinks is the best tool for your hobby needs even if there is something more expensive.

Not for everyone, but if it is for you...welcome. also, theres magic the gathering, Warhammer 40k, I heard a group plays infinity. Theres also Sigmar minis Gundam minis, a bunch of board games, paints obviously. If your coming for 40k people come to paint, play or both. Ive been going for 8 years wouldnt go anywhere else.

Staff is amazing and helpful. The owner even stepped in to help and was a very knowledgeable. Inventory was a little low but that could be because of the pandemic or people not into this stuff anymore 😕. Overall love the place!

I highly recommend Maplewood Hobby. I just started getting serious into painting and got my first airbrush. I live upstate NY and have been having an issue finding Vallejo Airbrush paints. I have been forced to order online paying huge shipping fees and not being able to really see the colors. Was visiting family close by Maplewood and stopped by. This place is great. A real old school hobby shop. The owner was so friendly and helpful. My wife had to pull me out as I could literally have stayed there all day. If you are nearby or even if you are not go there and support this great small business.

There isnt a lot of gunpla but this Christmas there will be. If you like D&D then youre in luck. They workers are so nice too so dont worry about chatting with them while looking around.

A gem of a place, both to shop and chat shop. Well worth the drive from Brooklyn to grab some paints, and would bypass NYC stores to enjoy a bit of small-town Hobby Store perfection any day.

Cool shop. Great place for kids and adults. Toy scale model cars, trucks, planes, etc. Paints & accessories. Board games. Place was hopping with D&D crowd when I visited.

Cool little hobby shop, definitely a labor of love. Ducked in on a Sunday and was pleased to see people painting and chatting and a rousing game of Blood Bowl in progress. Youre going to need to ask for help finding things, there are shelves upon shelves of every wargame and model kit imaginable.

We love Maplewood Hobby! They have a friendly staff, a good selection of model making and gaming supplies, and events that bring people with similar interests together! It seems lately a lot of hobby shops are closing. It is great to see this excellent one going strong!

Rich is great, helpful every time Ive been in there. Really friendly guys in there and large stock of just about everything hobby related you need. If they dont stock it, they will do their best to order it for you.

An absolute treasure! One of the few brick and mortar hobby stores around. SUPER friendly staff. Excellent selection of models, miniatures, paints and just about everything you need to have fun in the hobby of making and painting.

Came in late the other night after a disappointing trip to the games workshop store in Manhattan. This store had a much better selection and the owner and staff were very friendly. Gave us the tour and made us feel very welcome. I have a 40k store in my neighborhood but will definitely travel the 30 minutes to do business with Maplewood Hobby.

If you are looking for any type of board game, whether it is simple games that last around an hour or two, or challenging games that will go on forever but are fun the entire time, Maplewood Hobby will have it! They alsp have a great assortment of models and kits for other hobbies or to expand your other games! The guys who run it are also great to talk to and will help you if you need it! Would highly reccomend it!

I attended storytime on Thursdays here for a while. I have never bought anything here besides water from the vending machine, but the shop appears to have many selections for painting and miscellaneous crafting things. The shop feels a little tight to navigate through when there are people playing with the landscape and figurines downstairs. Upstairs, the event space is not incredibly clean and does have broken chairs, but it is adequate for five tables of storytime Dungeons and Dragons. The single bathroom does not feel very clean and funnily always has a lot of paint and brushes inside. Overall, it is a little rundown and can get crowded, but the people are friendly and I understand that there are many things to do or buy. Parking can be annoying.

Great Store, the staff was helpful and friendly, this store is well stocked with a variety of games and miniature hobby supplies. John is a really great guy. Definitely making this my go to store for my wargaming needs.

This place takes me back. I dont get to go here as often as I like but every trip is a joy, the Staff is friendly as well as knowledgeable, the selection is vast, there is always something that will catch your eye here. They almost always seem to have an event in one form or another.

Not a lot of parking, it was my first time in the area, so I ended up circling around and parking on the main street.The shop is more focused on wargaming than anything else. Although, I did see a pretty good selection of Tabletop board games, and models. A good amount of Warhammer related stuff. A very large amount of unpainted and prepainted wargaming stuff from various eras. A large selection of terrain for wargaming and or dioramas, a bunch of wargaming magazines.A small bookshelf loaded with core rulebooks for various TTRPG, such as D&D5e, Pathfinder and bunch of others. So, basically enough for the basics of most TTRPGs although I didnt see modules or much supplemental stuff.I also saw a section of paints for miniatures. As well as a painting station I believe.It was packed when I went, people playing Warhammer, and an WW2 wargame (not sure which), so it was hard to get to certain areas. Staff seemed very knowledgeable.The shop is very difficult to navigate, very cluttered, and very tight, but there were a ton of players. They had 3 tables going and 8-9 players. So, I was pretty impressed.

Went to buy paints for my aircraft plastic models. They had all tamiya and most of vallejo acrylics I was looking for. Good prices too!
