Great staff. Knowledgeable people. If what you want is available (remember this is January 2021) they will get it for you. What they have in stock is still pretty impressive given the current buying practices of many Americans. CVO also provides a great number of classes for safe, practical use of firearms and other related interests of law abiding gun owners.

I purchased a Diamondback 5.56mn and Red Dot Scope from CVO as a Transfer out-of-state. They shipped the Diamondback to Tennessee. Im in Alabama. When I picked up the Diamondback at a Gun Store in Foley, AL, there was no Red Dot scope on the rifle. They shipped the Red Dot scope out to the wrong address in Orange Beach, AL. As of this rating, I have the Diamondback, only God knows where the scope is at. At no time in this debacle did CVO pickup the phone and call to verify information and or apologize. CVO are the Moe, Larry, and Curley of Gun Shops!Id like to follow up on the above review. I received the Red Dot scope and CVO paid for the shipping from Tennessee to Alabama. The Diamondback was a great buy compared to prices in the South. I perhaps, was a little harsh in my assessment!

CVO has been nothing but enjoyable to work with so far. From helping get my Benchmade repaired, to discussing new options for an EDC, the service has been great and they have been very knowledgeable.

I grew up shooting pellet guns at Izaak Walton’s every Tuesday night. Once I started high school sports I never graduated from a pellet gun. 15 years go by I decide to get back into the life. Cedar Valley Outfitters has been so helpful and knowledgeable for a beginner with many questions. I was encouraged to take the safety class and I would highly recommend taking the class. Went inside nobody greeted me I wanted to buy a holster for pistol sat in the isle with holsters for 20 minutes without being helped and there were three guys just sitting behind the counter very poor service would not recommend

Really knowledgeable group of men and women when it comes to firearms. I planned a move to the west coast where they have different regulations regarding firearms. Bunch of fat guys in nine line shirts. Brought in a pistol to sell and they very abrasively told me I need to ask for my money back from who i bought it from. They absolutely could have said that they werent interested.

Rude sales people. Typical good ol boys club that acts like theyre doing you a favor by allowing you to shop there. Ive been to pawn shops and junk yards that have better customer service and attitudes.

Spoke with somebody on the phone about a firearm from the shop I can tell just by the way they speak with people on the phone that they are pressure sellers And most likely prey on new people with no knowledge of guns. I feel sorry for them I would not recommend these guys go someplace else or better yet a few places check out different Firearms and see if you can wheel and deal better prices don’t be pressured into one place trying to force you into selling you something without the option of shopping around.

The customer service was terrible. Not only was the employee who helped me rude, he was also unfamiliar with Colt firearms. I was offering to sell a Colt Defender 1911 in spectacular condition (200-300 rounds) and he offered me 300 dollars.When he came back with the gun he asked if 300 was my number to sell and I told him no, he just walked away. I asked if that was the best he could do and he said yep as he was still walking away.

Wouldnt sell me a box of 45 ammo because it was packaged with guns. Watched an employee go in the back to grab a box. Apparently you have to be special to get a box of ammo.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Their permit to carry class is amazing. Even if you do not intend on getting your permit, the information learned in the class is very beneficial. The discussion of real life scenarios that actually happened locally will make you more aware and help keep you out of harms way. Ernie is very knowledgeable and friendly, and keeps the class fast paced and entertaining. Highly recommended!

Shop is great and always has a deal on something. Firearms, conceal carry classes or any other training I go to them and am not disappointed.To Lydia in the reviews, go into the shop and ask about their classes. I have taken plenty and I wouldn’t let the opportunity to train with them pass. On some potential technical error or (it’s possible) user error.

The best place to buy around here. I bring all my friends here! They care more about getting you the right gun than selling you something more expensive/something that you dont want. They dont have the largest selection but I always use them as an FFL if they dont have what I want.

Been In there a few times over the years and felt uncomfortable on several occasions. I have made purchases in the past and used them for FFL shipping. The younger guy that works there is friendly and pleasant to deal with, but the hairless plump guy puts off some funky vibes like hes got a mental issue and is about to go off on someone. Chip on his shoulder? Heard him talk rudely to a customer on the phone while I was browsing around (some people). On a positive note prices seem fair. Products are clean, easy to find. Overall I will spend my cash elsewhere just because every customer should be greeted with a hello, is there anything I can help you with.

I was very impressed with the service rendered by Cedar Valley Outfitters. First of all, their prices, in store and online, are very fair. Second, when I ordered my Mossberg 464 online, there was an issue with my card, and my card was charged for three rifle instead of one. Without question, the folks at Cedar Valley Outfitters refunded the two extra charges. I went to pick up my rifle today, and Curt, the gentlemen working in the store, was incredibly helpful. I have been a long time gun owner, and I was very impressed with how Curt dealt with first time gun buyers; pointing out the strengths and weakness of each firearm, all the while being honest and unbiased and not pushing the higher priced firearm. The store may be an hour away from where I live, but I will be doing all of my firearm related business with them going forward. Bravo.

Nice smaller shop, standard inventory of firearms but nothing special or unique, small qty of reloading supplies, sells good quality safes, good team with a focus on tactical/LE training

CVO is a great place to both shop & learn/train! Ernie the owner is super nice and has been a long time friend for many years. I always enjoy talking with John & Curt as well. They carry a modest selection of firearms and can get almost anything you want. They also buy used firearms too. They offer great training and have the best CCW/CCL training available. They are favorites not only of the locals, but of many well known gun writers and personalities.

Excellent prices, and very knowledgeable staff set Cedar Valley Outfitters apart. Ive had firearms training from the US Army, Cedar Valley Outfitters, and Front Sight in Nevada, and Id put a student from Cedar Valley Outfitters up against a graduate from Front Sight any day of the week.

Great people, very fair prices that usually meet or beat anything in town or online, and they can get just about anything a person wants. I browse at the big box store to find what I like, but I almost always buy from CVO.

Their 2012-13 price gouging and fear-mongering to cash in on panic buyers has gotten ridiculous, charging over $300 for ordinary forged stripped lowers, and $50 for Pmags, when local competitors are selling for just 10% over standard prices. I wouldnt really care about their $75 transfer fee if they at least sold their rifles and handguns for competitive prices, but when even Scheels is beating them, it is hard to justify.Unless you wave cash in their face at the shop, they are uninterested in helping you out. They seem to cater to those with more money than sense. They do have a good selection, and some great gear/supplies. I would have no problem going there for outdoors and camping supplies if it were not for their terrible service. I even planned on sending my wife to take their womens weapons carry class, but after the way they treated me, I didnt want her there, either.From now on they are in the same category as Kentucky Gun Co, Gander Mountain Dicks, and sketchy used car dealers. There are much better alternatives in the area. I recommend Peacekeeper Defense, Midwest Shooting Supply, or Eagle Center Firearms.If you ask some of the other dealers at gun shows, they will tell you what they think of CVOs business practices. Ill never send someone there willingly.
