Ok so first, when I needed help it was a Saturday. It was 4:00. I called and asked if they would check my car for the code it’s sending out. I drove up and Luke asked me to pull up and let’s look at it. He was so kind, friendly and I could tell that he was great at what he does. He figured out my code and told me what to do. He didn’t charge me. What ?! I was like, no way. People like this don’t exist anymore. Great service, willing to look late on a Sat and didn’t charge me. I call that an A++. My car broke down in Also, and one of the tow drivers saw me on his way back from lunch and picked me up. He called the shop to see if they could fit me in same day, they said sure, it shouldnt be too hard. What was supposed to be a couple hour issue turned into all day. They informed me every step of the way and did more than just fix the problem, they fixed what seems like the underlying issues. I know by the end of the day we were all ready to go home, and Im thankful they stuck with through it with me.

Broke down and got stranded in Chicago, I’m from out of town, Philadelphia and had no idea where to turn so called tons of people with many turning me away. They were the first shop to actually call me back and send help right away! Fixing the car unfortunately was messy and took all day but they were very informative and helpful about all the issues and all that needed replacing! Thanks preferred automotive!

I highly recommend Preferred Automotive. Whether its a simple oil change, or in my case a new alternator and a diagnostic test.They are so nice, explain everything straight to the point, no b.s. and the cost, well.. you wont find a better deal. 5 star service. Preferred Automotive helped us make the best out of a bad situation. We broke down on the side of the road while driving to an out of town wedding. They helped us tow the car, assess the damage, and complete the repairs in the most timely manner. They were friendly and pleasant with us while we explained our suspected reasoning for the accident we had. And they helped us to repair the vehicle and feel safe to drive it home. We cannot speak highly enough of our experience and are beyond thankful for their help at a time when we needed it most!

So I called today for them to fix my car told the lady that my car is not drivable and that I need a tow because I dont know if it was a wheel alignment or control arm that need to be fixed I also stated that the back tire is flat before she dispatched a tow to come pick it up to take they shop to fix it she told me 1 hour for pick up more like 2 and thats fine who knows what cars they had before mine. The tow truck driver finally arrives he dont have the right equipment to pick up my car because the back tire is flat and he dont have a part to pull it on a flat so he said he would be back he need to switch trucks or call someone this is at 130 I called them back to be sent to VM to get another number called them and told the lady and she never followed up with me wasting my whole day I needed my car fixed but I will not do service with this company if they cant be of any assistance.

Drove up to Chicago and I thought my battery had went bad. It ended up being my alternator. Luke and his guys were amazing. Towed my car back to there shop and had me back on the road within a couple hours. Would 100% recommend them to anyone.

Nice people who work at this business, I had come because my door was broken and within minutes it had been fixed and I was sent along my way. I recommend them to any and everyone... very fast and efficient service that lasts!Update: Some time later that very car broke down. I called Prefered “preferred” Automotive (their name is even spelled incorrectly… missing an r) to tow the car to their shop to be looked at. The transmission had blew. I knew this because my fiancé who worked on cars for a short amount of time before working on motorcycles, looked at it, one glance and he said “your transmission isn’t savable, and to purchase another one”. I was charged over $750 due to the location being very far. Which I was okay with. Once they retrieved my car I was told they would look at it and identify the problem with it. I was then told that the transmission may be able to be saved —there was no possible way it could be saved with oil, I knew this— I put faith into them anyways however and trusted that maybe after they flush out the car and replace the oil it might survive. Next day comes around and I receive a call saying sadly it’s nothing they could do besides replace it because the oil didn’t work, but that I would be charged for the labor done regardless of it not working . The charge was extremely high for an oil flush and I’m talking about around $500, if not more. It was at this point that I started to reflect on Prefered Automotive and their services.My car was not drivableYet they expected me to pay over $1000 (tow included) for nothing. Just for them to look at my car and tell me something that was obvious.I moved my car to another automotive repair, where my transmission was handled without me being or feeling robbed as a woman with zero experience or exposure to the car business.(I gave three stars because despite my very sour experience with the other employees, I did have an amazing experience with the owner that very first time with my car door.)

Needed a new starter on my Chevy Tahoe! Called these guys for a jump and it didn’t work but the tow truck guy said it was probably a starter and that they could service it. I paid a total of 225 bucks for a tow and a new starter! Totally worth the money. Would call back in a heart beat! Owner was really nice.

Took my car for a check up. They did a good job of it, checking all the knooks and crannies of the car. The information was helpful and they patiently explained anything that I didnt understand with regards to possible repairs.The place was spacious though it had a gloomy atmosphere, with not much lighting. The equipments they used were pretty good.I dont know about the price. They charged us a $125 for that simple check up. That may have been a normal amount for them, or for any Auto repair shop in general. But Im just putting it out there for reference. The job was well done, but I was just surprised with that price.

All of the staff were very nice. Scott did a great job on my muffler. Got my baby purring softly again. They were actually open on labor day.

These guys are the best and the owner went out of his way to make sure my familys vacation wasnt ruined. I just have to share this story. I took my family on a vacation to Chicago theres not much to do but we had to get away and my wife wanted to see her aunt which is basically her mother. We were about 30 min away and my van broke down with everything going on I didnt even know if there was going to be anybody to help so I Google tow truck and preferred automotive look good enough so I call they come he tells me he can tow me and get my van fixed but it would take a few days which was fine I was excited just to have help we get back to the shop and I meet the owner his name was Luke I tell him my story he sees Im with my wife and kids and instead of me leaving in a cab with my family to a motel with r vacation basically ruined the owner decided to let me use one of his personal vehicles till they get my van fixed so the vacation went great thanks to Luke at preferred automotive I cant express how much his help and kindness meant to me and my family

I took my car there because I had an exhaust issue, a possible leak or hole in muffler that had just happened as I was driving to the emission center. The mechanic examined my car and said that my flanges had rusted a loose and no way to save or nothing to connect to, so he said that I was gonna need new exhaust, flanges and a new catalytic converter, he quoted me just about $900 in parts and labor.Knowing my car and how this had just came about, it didnt sound right to me at all. So I told him no thanks that was to pricey for me and I wanted to make some calls.I called another shop, a Meineke Muffler that had time to see me. I made it there and the mechanic told me to pull in. Before he even got the chance to look at it he heard it first when I pulled up and said that it sounds like a flange problem. He examined it and it was a hole near the flange. He cut the pipe and replaced that area, this took no more than 20 minutes and it was less than $100 for parts and labor! Thank goodness there are still some honest business that exist.

Horrible experience with my 1994 chevy blazer. I was told that a used engine would be put in and I was lied to. After driving the truck back to Indianapolis, I noticed an oil leak. I took a short drive to walmart and as I returned and got back into the truck, I had noticed some hesitation in the pedal. As I pushed thr gas pedal, I heard a pop and the car cut off on me and I had to steer it to the curb. This is not supposed to happened after paying 2800 dollars in engine work. I shouldnt have to pay another mechanic to do a diagnosis on the engine to tell me I got ripped off and the bare minimum was done to truck. If engine work was done, the spark plugs shouldve been changed out. These guys are scams take you money some where else. Im a veteran and Ive gotten the VA legal aid involved for legal action. STAY AWAY!!!!!

One stars because they did a job. I take one star because towing guy is very rude and does not know how to talk to people. He really needs to work on his people skills. Another star I remove because they said my abs light would go off in several hundred miles, but tested my abs and is not working. Third star I take away because they give you 10 dollars off just so you could write a google review. Thats cheap I think. Better give 50 dollars off. Last star i take off because they are very greedy. For one ball joint they charged 800 dollars and i found mechanic who fixed two ball joints for 420 dollars. I would avoid this place at all cost

Took my ford fusion 2013 here with all sorts of problems, bad brakes system, bad electronic power steering, needed new rotors etc. The shop took care of me and had my car back to me within a few days.
