I dont recall the name of the guy who spoke with me on the phone about servicing our hot tub but I appreciate the help and pointers you provided. This is how you get/keep return customers.

Recently purchased an above ground pool from R&S. Due to availability of pools we decided to go through them. The entire process was filled with problems, mostly due to their salesman Dan. They ranged from attitude problems to incorrect parts being ordered. The day we picked up our pool it was much of the same, attitude and problems. We ended up dealing with the owner that day and it seemed that our “pool relationship” was going to be able to continue. Fast forward to today, the pool has been up for 2 months. We use Soft Swim instead of Chlorine. The lid to the filter basket began to leak from small cracks in the plastic. We brought the defective lid in to be replaced under what we thought would be covered through a warranty. Nope, apparently there is a special basket lid that has to be used with Soft Swim. Why were we not told about this when we purchased the pool? They knew we were going to use Soft Swim. We ordered a whole seasons worth in the original purchase. I wonder how many more components of the pool are going to be affected by this same problem?? This company may have been around for a while but it is far from knowledgeable. IMO, when a company is in retail the customer is the most important component of a sales transaction in order to build and maintain a solid customer base. Needless to say but they’ve lost us as a customer and I would urge anyone else to look elsewhere for your pool or spa needs.

Came in with technical questions and concerns about a spa they dont even regularly work on and was able to get everything figured out, by the time it was all said and done I had basically saved over $600 by talking the problem out with them instead of just replacing the parts I thought I would need to. Definitely created a customer for life and someone that will spread word of mouth, worth the extra drive even if your a ways out!!!

I have been a patron of R&S for over 25 years. It is without question THE pool supply store in the stl area. No one else comes close. When it comes to having what you need in stock, whether its chemicals, toys, or obscure parts, its the place to go. Here is my pool water right now, 9ft deep.

All of the staff at R & S are very knowledgeable! We have been going in the store for several years. Up until yesterday, we have never had them out for service. That will change now! Our sand filter sprung a leak. They came out to install a new one and found a leak in a coupling going to our heat/cool pump and fixed that too. These guys and gals are awesome! Thanks R & S!

I called first to ask if the product I wanted was in stock. The person was helpful and explained how business is transacted now with the pandemic. When I arrived, people working on the floor were wearing masks. A gentleman helped me with what I needed and answered my questions. Pricing was very good. And the clerks were behind glass. All in all, a good experience.

Man was knowledgeable, and helpful. Even though they where outa stock of my pool filter. He apologized. Said no one has those filters right now. We cant get them in.

This place is huge! I love the interior decor and they have a HUGE selection of pool entertainment and equipment! I had an issue with my Intek pool and they saved the day! Definitely will be contacting them for an above ground pool in the future!

Great service and very nice, helpful employees. I got to the store at 5:02, not knowing they closed at 5. The door was locked and lights were off. Apparently the employees still inside saw me, and as l was walking back to my car, they opened the door and asked how they could help me. I was trying to drop off my pool pump to have it repaired. They invited me inside and did all the paperwork for my repair. I had went in two days prior to buy a new pump, and instead of their employee just selling me a 300.00 pump, he suggested l bring in my old one to see if it could be repaired. They did the repairs for 43.00, saving me over 250.00. Cant say enough about the knowledge, professionalism and helpfulness of all the employees. Will do all of my pool business with R & S Pool and Spa.

They are great at covering your chemical needs but struggle with customer service. I had an issue with my pump and received significant resistance at first when asking for help in working with my home warranty company. Stephanie stepped in and went above and beyond my expectations to resolve the situation. The initial interaction was not good but her recovery made it a good experience which I truly appreciate.

Best in the area. Vast selection of products and fantastic repair service. I drive 60 miles round-trip for the best experience.

I needed my swimming pool closed on short notice. Called a few places off of Yelp and these guys were the most responsive. Chris and Tim showed up on time and got everything done lightning-fast. Theyve been doing it for 20+ years, apparently. Will use them to open and close my swimming pool from now on. Highly recommended.

Great place, locally owned.Could buy online but chose to support a locally owned business. They ordered a part and charged me a few bucks more than I could have gotten it online but they stand behind their parts. If it didnt fit or work properly they make it right.Takes the hassle out of it.Good people that go out of the way to help you.

We have tried a few pool supply places trying to find the one. These guys have been constantly helpful and friendly when it comes to testing and buying chemicals. They even have someone carry the heavy stuff like chlorine and load it into your car.

Great pool supply store with very knowledgeable staff. I have been coming to this store for over 12 years, even though its kind of out of my way and I have other options much closer to home. The folks behind the main counter have been the same since I first started coming here, they ate always very helpful and all have pools of their own. Slightly higher priced than others, but well worth the extra couple of dollars.

After attempting to get advice on balancing the water quality in our canine underwater treadmill through multiple sources (installer, manufacturer, and another local pool supply co) without any real help, I was desperate for someone to just tell me what I needed and solve the problem once and for all.I have no background in pools or even aquariums so everything regarding water chemistry is new to me. I called R&S about a service call, but instead of just taking me for the easy $75 service call, they encouraged me to come down to the store and bring a water sample plus all my current products.There was a bit of a wait when I arrived, but I considered that a good thing---when a business is a ghost town, you should be concerned. Dan was patient with me when I explained our situation, and while I asked all my newbie spa maintenance questions, and he helped me get exactly what I needed but never pushed me to buy any of the products. All of his recommendations paid off, and we have beautiful, clear, sparkling water for the dogs to exercise/rehabilitate in.I am so grateful for R & S expertise, and am happy to support a local business!

Prices on chemicals/supplies are good, good inventory. Techs are fantastic. The service department headed by Dan is a problem. Over promise and under deliver is typical. Phone lines almost always busy. But, as I said, the work they do is excellent. 3 stars because its so difficult to get scheduled and good luck getting a return call.

Just had R&S do an emergency repair on the plumbing lines for my pool. Kyle did a great job and Dan couldnt have been more helpful in fitting me in to his service schedule. I highly recommend R&S for any of your pool needs. They are my go to people from now on!

Overall, what I have experienced so far (being a new pool owner--it came with the house) is positive. They seem to have everything. The staff is very helpful and if you have technical questions or need to get a number and go to the desk, the service is good but you might wait awhile to get served. I feel that some of their prices are a little high but I have nothing with which to compare it except online supply companies. My knowledge as a new pool owner is limited--but they seem good and the home owners/builders of my house took care of the pool 100% and recommended R & S

Ive been to several pool companies in my area and R&S has always seemed to be the most professional, knowledgeable and organized. I recently had a new filter installed by them and Im looking forward to my pool performing much better thanks to their help.

Convenient for a quick pickup, mostly due to the place being empty. Staff have avoidance syndrome. I have gone up to the desk to ask for help on several visits and they pretty much ignore you. Sometimes carrying on casual conversations for several minutes. I still give it three stars because they have a decent selection and its easy to get in and out of. But the service is for sure hit and miss.

R&S has always been up front with me when I have needed a part or repair as in a rebuilt Emerson motor or chlorinator. They usually have the manufacturer parts that I need so I dont have to almost get something to seal, but I am willing to pay a little extra for that convenience.I have found them all to be knowledgeable and willing to help, but I also TRY to avoid the busiest times.

R & S took care of a warranty repair on our Pentair equipment and we couldnt be more pleased with their service. Professional, knowledgeable, and wanting to do the job right. This is who you want to call when you need help with your pool.

Great service and anything you need for a pool

I had an issue with my Above Ground pool where I was unable to get the pressure anywhere above 6 to 8. I called my local pool supplier and was told it would be an initial $150 and then $75 an hour. I called R & S and was told to take a picture of the pump and the valve and come in and they would be able to guide me in the right direction. I took my pictures in and spoke to Cheryl. She listened to what my issue was and knew pretty much what the problem was. She pulled a valve off the shelf and showed me exactly how to take it apart and replace the seals in the valve. I took the valve apart and immediately knew that was my issue. The ball valve was completely clogged full of leaves and twigs. I spent $24.71 on new seals and have a pressure of 18 again.
