Just wanted to say that this place probably had some of the worst customer service. For a machine shop, it was very clean and organized. I brought a BBC to get rebuilt after the timing chain had worn and slipped so much the pistons broke one of the valves. I had to take most of the motor apart to verify this, so when I brought it to them it was not all put together. The representative that greeted me was not overly enthusiastic about it, but it was a Friday afternoon. I was promised their staff would begin the build in 2-4 weeks, but that quickly turned into two months. I asked for a long block to be built, and for them to order whatever parts they felt like it would need. Throughout the process, I placed and received several calls from the shop, none of which were friendly by any means. By the end of the 3 month process (which is light speed in the “Covid” era), I had accrued a $2,400 tab. What I received was a halfway completed short block and rebuilt heads. Two of the bolt holes for the heads were stripped, and none of the threads were clean. The paint job was sloppy, and the heads were simply primered. I would not recommend this shop under the current management staff, although their staff seems highly skilled.

Both times I took my car here it didn’t get fixed properly. Please take your vehicles somewhere else for the love of everything.

I have used them for 2 separate engine builds. They offer full service. Quick turn around and reasonable prices. I will use them again.

Very knowledgeable mechanics that did a very through job rebuilding my engine in my 88 toyota pickup 4x4 and walked me through all the problems that my engine had prior to the rebuild and the price was very reasonable for all the work they did and in a timely manner. I brought my 4 cylinder outboard motor there to get 2 cylinders bored out .....they did a great job called me the next day and it was ready

David is honest and his service is reliable. He stands behind his work 100%. The only service I trust for work on my BMW and Cadillac. Five stars plus!

Do not select Hitch Repair Service in Alcoa/Maryville to work on your car. The owner, David, is a rude, disorganized individual that has no concept of customer service. In summery, I dropped off my car and it was finally completed 40 days later, costing over $700 more than my quoted price. He failed to communicate the additional charges prior to making the changes to my vehicle. I called two different occasions on the promised completion days and was told the car was not ready due to other vehicles that were dropped off last minute. I knew from the beginning I was not a priority and this is the same service you will receive if you take your vehicle and hard earned money to Hitchs.

Bad experience changed me 75$ to drive my Pacifica around and said its fine but when I drive away sa2ne issue that I brought it in for.

A few years ago, I took a set of LT4 heads to them to be resurfaced. I requested .005 to be removed.Three weeks later (promised 1 wk) I came to pick up the heads. The guy I originally talked to was no where to be found. I had to describe in grwat detail which heads were mine because they were not tagged. The guy I was now dealing with had no clue how much material had been removed. I asked for a higher up & another guy I hadnt seen before came foward with a horrible attitude.He just kept angrily saying we did what you asked you wanted high compression, theres your high compression. No one knew how much material was removed!THE HEADS WERE RUINED!They were covered in blasting media, but hadnt been blasted & metal shavings.They had cut all of the way in to the valves & the valve seats. I paid cash to get my now evidence since they were runied, & was given a hand written reciept. When I showed up a week later with a more reputable shops typed explanation as to why my heads were ruined, they said they had never seen me before, & had no record of me doing business with them.DO NOT GO HERE! THERE ARE PLENTY OF MUCH BETTER SHOPS IN THE AREA.

I was directed to Hitch Repair by SHA Automotive, mechanics who have been honest and helpful with my family with all of our (usually Japanese) cars. I brought in my 2005 Cadillac CTS with electrical problems, and that turned out to need full spark plug replacements, a new ignition coil, and a new fuel gasket (something they hadnt told me about) for $538, warning me that the exhaust system need repairing. Four days after their repair job, my car screamed and died and I coasted into a parking lot; I called Hitch and they said the exhaust system problem must have been so bad that the engine computer was shutting everything down. After getting towed to the Midas station at 10025 Kingston Pike, I learned that what ACTUALLY happened was the timing chain disintegrated and lashed the rest of the engine to pieces. The guys at Midas waived their inspection fee and told me I could leave my beloved Caddy on the lot for a week so I could find time to fix it. The guys at Hitch Repair were very surprised by this information! Dont ever go to Hitch Repair.

When his dad was there it was a great shop, but now i wouldnt go there they are rude and lazy...

No just shut it down and retire already.
