Ok so I dont know much about cars other than how to make one drive. This place though? 100% upfront. Super friendly. And the guy came out with an itemized list of what was needed for my car. And it was broke down in a way that I could understand. And the best part? Best price Ive found ever! I was quoted like... nearly 300 for JUST my belts somewhere else. This place? For 100 more did belts (and found out I was missing a belt!), added freon, filter, and ran an AC test! And after talking about another car I have? They said they would be able to get the car looked over and itemized so I know what to do. And even could do it in parts so I could pay it more easily! I dont know who you all go to for auto repair? But this is my new place to go. Without a doubt! A real (not so hidden now) gem!

Brought my ‘04 Porsche Cayenne to the guys at affordable auto repair and I cannot recommend them enough. I was quoted $2100 or more for a thermostat from every other repair shop in the Knoxville area ( no exaggeration, I called everyone on google) Not only were they able to complete the thermostat but they also fixed a handful of other expensive problems for $1600. They are nice as could be, very responsive in keeping me updated and letting me know the running total beforehand. They will forever be where my family goes for car trouble. If I could give 100 stars I would!

8.5 hours and about 700 miles away from home, my truck dies near the Townsend Wye. Had to hitch a ride with the River Rat Crew into Townsend to get cell service and start calling for help. Ended up with Butlers Wrecker Service sending the nicest truck driver youd ever hope to meet at a time like this, who helped us get back to our cabin and took the truck to Sammy at Affordable Auto Repair. My wife had already spoken to Sammy, and he thought hed be able to have it fixed by 5pm the next day - thats reassuring! We got a call at 1030 the next morning saying it was ready to go!!! Im an experienced mechanic and Im impressed he got the diagnostics done, and alternator and belt replaced that quickly- it is buried in the engine bay. We couldnt find a ride from our cabin so we walked into town and Sammys wife came to get us! We had a wonderful conversation about family and sharing kindness with others. My wife even left her wedding rings in the cupholder of my truck during the chaos, and they were still right where she left them. I feel so blessed and fortunate to have been forced to rely on the kindness of strangers so far from home, and ended up meeting such amazing folks. Thank you so much for everything all of you did to help us. It touched out hearts. God is so good. Prayers for you all & your families!

We have taken all four of our households vehicles here with very pleasing reaults. They are courteous, timely and priced right for the work! They fixed major and minor things with equal quality and care. They identified work that should be covered by warranty at another shop. I had an issue with a bad part and they got me back in and fixed the very next day! They are now officially our shop of choice!

My family were recently visiting the Smokies after traveling from MA - 15 hours and about 1000 miles away from home. The power steering was leaking and minor knocking noise on suspension.Sammy was so kind and professional and offered to check on the issue on the same day. Good people! I had my car towed over there, within a couple of hours, I got a call back with the problem. They were upfront with the cost (which was reasonable) and would not do anything without approval. They were able to get it fixed before any of the other shops said would even look at it. I would highly recommend!

Okay if I could give these people 10 stars I totally would! We drove all the way from Kentucky headed to NC and we blew a tire! It was 4:45 pm on a Friday and my fiancée and I called literally 12 other shops before these guys. NOBODY else wanted to help us but these guys stayed open just for us and were able to help us. I have seriously never experienced such good customer service. They were so kind and generous and went out of their way when they totally didn’t have too! Nicest couple I have EVER met. Wow! Where do I start! I am so new to the area and in such a remote place that we literally know no one. I purchased a truck from a friend from decades ago who hopefully had no idea the problems with this vehicle. Stopped at a store on my way back from getting tags because it was overheating. Asked and was recommended to Affordable Auto. Took awhile to get in only because of the pandemic, but they stayed in regular contact and got me in, then finished the job early. It was a major job, but the truck runs like new and at a more than reasonable price. I will use them from now on as will my girlfriend and will go on the “next door” site to let others know (now that I got mine in, ha ha!). Even stopped at the store to thank the guy who recommended them. If you want to be treated like family, even as a first time customer, this is the place to go. I had a good feeling from the start and feel great now. 5 Stars are nowhere near enough. My new mechanic shop! Honest!

This is the most HONEST, GENUINE, PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE mechanic Ive ever met. And BONUS, he was quick and accurate about the time it would take as well. I told him that two other mechanics at a different place told me I needed a new drive shaft, new rim and new ujoints. This mechanic inspected my truck for FREE and said drive shaft and rim looks good, but I do need ujoints. Also, he noticed my bed was out of line and let me know that I need to get my tires balanced. I paid around $400 LESS than those other guys would have got me for. THIS WAS THE GREATEST AUTO SHOP EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!

Absolutely NOT a Volvo mechanic. Had my car for 6 months trying to get the timing right after a timing belt replacement. Still not right. Took it in in October, paid in full in December, took I back two days later picked it up again in April....still not right. NOT A VOLVO MECHANIC.

I moved to Tennessee from Illinois on my own without family or friends here to help me. So when I started to hear noises coming from my 2009 Honda Civic air vent I didnt have anyone to ask for a reliable auto mechanic. I wasnt going back to Airport Honda after the last time when they wanted to overcharge me for a simple air filter. I went on line and one auto shop had some good reviews, but the bad ones left me with concerns so I ruled them out. The other shop couldnt get me in until sometime in December. So I looked at the reviews for Affordable Auto and they were all positive. Sammy & Missy are the nicest & most friendly couple. Sammy and I took a short cruze and he immediately diagnosed the problem. He said he was working on another car and he would get to mine as soon as he could. The shop was very clean and it had a small picnic table and chairs with crayons & coloring books for the kiddies. The washroom from what I could see was spotless and thats a plus for me. They had coffee and although its understood you should help yourself, Missy offered it to me. Everyone who came in seemed to be happy customers. I will certainly return when and if I need my car checked. I believe the charge was an honest one and I didnt feel like I was taken advantage of.

I have always been skeptical of auto repair places and have found it is very difficult to find a place where you wont be gouged and the shop owner will stand behind his work. Thankfully, my wife found Sammy at Affordable Auto Repair when she brought her VW Touareg in for a clogged A/C drain line. Sammy cleared the line and charged nothing for the service. I was so impressed that in a crowded field of people who will try to do the minimum with the cheapest parts and charge you a maximum for crummy work, Sammy stands out as a do the right thing guy. From that day we promised that our vehicles would only go here. I kept my promise and took my truck in for its 200K inspection and service and Sammy took care to give it a thorough look over. He immediately spotted a couple of critical needs and set to work. Im happy to say that after 2 years of running with the check engine light on it is now off and the truck is ready for its next 200K miles! I highly recommend the work and friendly service here! I will return!

Were not all perfect and some people arent going to have good experiences everywhere they go. Fact of life.I was charged 50 dollars for a diagnostic I didnt even ask for. I already gave the guy the trouble codes when I dropped the vehicle off. He said he has the good scanner that can show OEM factory specific codes unlike the cheap scanners. Only problem is, I bought one of those good scanners, scanned the vehicle, wrote the codes down and tell him the codes. Once again, get charged 50 dollars to repeat to me what I had already told him. I would rate a negative 3 stars if I could. The one star rating without a description was the original version but since you guys like to get haughty with reviews that dont paint a perfect picture I figured I would go for an edit.....Anonymous.

I dropped my Durango off at night and used there key drop. I was having my power steering pump and hoses replaced. The next day the mechanic called me and was honest and very straight forward of what all my vehicle needed. I had called around and had gotten several quotes and Affordable Auto Repair was by far the cheapest. Quality work at a fair price. When I went to pick up my Durango the nice lady in the office said I noticed you have a Veterans license plate and asked me if I was a Veteran, I said yes, she then told me that I will be getting a discount. I stumbled upon this place via Google reviews, and my expectations were exceeded with Affordable Auto Cares prompt, affordable, expert service. The owners are friendly, and they were able to explain clearly the work I needed complete. I came in for an installation of a new engine mount, and they were able to complete the task for a fraction of the price that Firestone would have charged me. In summary, the highly reputable score they have on here is well-deserved! :)

Sammy and his wife were amazing. I was in Maryville for a family outing and my radiator blew. I called Sammy at 8am on Memorial Day and he answered the called in a big way. He had my car up and running within a couple of hours and at a very affordable price. When I went in to pick up my car he should me exactly what was wrong with the old part, the new installed parts and even gave me advice on what to have done a few months down the road in order to make the car last longer (98 Camry) and run more efficiently. I made an appointment for an oil change on my 2015 Scion XB. When I arrived they took my car back right away. I received recommendations for a few regular maintenance services. Nothing that needed to be taken care of immediately, but something to think about in the near future. I felt that I was treated fairly. The waiting area was clean and there was also a play corner with toys. My daughter even mentioned how pretty the bathroom was.

This is the BEST auto repair in all of Maryville/Alcoa, and Ive been to several. This man is so kind and knowledgeable. We used these guys to fix our work truck at Maryville Monument. They fit us in on their tight schedule probably even stayed late just to make sure the truck would be ready by the time they told us it would be. Very affordable and helpful. All around great people.

I know very little about cars. When I started hearing a squeak from the engine, I knew I needed help. So, I thought I would try the new place in the neighborhood (I live on Everett Hill). My experience was excellent! Sammy the mechanic, explained what was happening (serpentine belt) and explained options for me. My car is now running better than ever and squeak free. I will return to Affordable Auto Repair for my future auto needs.

I was 1000 miles from home visiting the Smoky Mountains when the differential on my truck started making lots of noise. I found Affordable Auto Repair by chance, and I couldnt have been happier with the service I received. Sammy took the time to explain everything to me, and didnt get bothered when he had to do it a second and third time. The expense of the repair was in line with what I found researching that type of repair, and he explained to me why it would cost what it cost. My truck was ready on time, and I had no problems on the 1000 mile trip back home. I hope I dont break down again on my next trip to TN, but if I do, I know exactly where I will go to get it fixed!

My son was recently camping in the Smoky Mountains when his brakes began to grind. On Friday evening I began calling around looking for a place to get the brakes fixed on Saturday morning for his long drive back to upstate NY. I had no idea what was wrong with my car so by chance I took it to Affordable Automotive. They communicated with me every step of the way... They took me out and showed me exactly what was wrong. They weren’t able to fix it that day but gave me a quote & scheduled a time to fix it. The day came for it to get fixed & they ran into some unexpected issues. They called to explain & let me know it would take longer than previously discussed. When I picked my car up I was not charged extra for the extra time they had to spend to fix the issue. Both Sammy & Misty were very friendly as well. I will definitely be using them as needed in the future.

Very nice people but we paid them over 1000.00 to fix a miss in a Nissan Frontier. A couple days after we got it back we took it back because it still wasn’t running right and he said he drove it home with him to give it plenty of time so he could see. The next day he said there’s nothing wrong with it and kinda acted like we’re stupid so needless to say it’s in ANOTHER shop getting fixed that we’re already in the hole in. So nice people but I wouldn’t recommend to anyone for automotive repair

I came by Affordable Auto Repair without an appointment and the owner came out and took care of me personally within less than 15 minutes I was back out on fully functional. This is one 1st Rate Organization that Ill be back to use from this time forward.I had a some work done recently on my vehicle and I was able to get an appointment right away and the shop got me in and taken care of in record time and the work was again Top Notch along with the Top Notch service from the whole staff.

Did an amazing job on my truck and stayed late to finish the job just so I could drive safely the next day back home to Florida. Cant thank them enough, fantastic people!

Wow, a mechanic that understandsSo, on the way to my daughters birthday party, a belt broke in my car. This resulted in loss of power steering and the risk that it wouldnt start again if turned off.I dropped kids at party and drove to affordable auto, my first time there. He diagnosed in the parking lot while car running. Took on the repair and fixed it while the party took place. I had the car back by the end of the party and he charged a fair price.To clarify, he had other work in progress. He simply cared enough to get it done quickly and he didnt take advantage.Ill be back.

I haven’t taken a car to a shop in fifteen years because of a bad experience in the past. I took a chance with this place, and they exceeded my expectations. The price was competetive, and my car runs better than it ever has. If you work on your own stuff like I do, but get to a point where you can’t figure it out, take it to this guy. Highly recommend.

I cannot begin to tell you how great it was work with Sammy. He always comes back with a thorough answer, gives you the best advice, and shows you exactly what is going on with any given problem. He even offered to lend my wife a car while ours was being worked on. Whats more, I had an emissions leak and he fixed it for free. Everyone looks for a skilled, honest mechanic, look no further!

I am not one to trust mechanic shops very easy and Im very observant on what goes on around the staff are courteous and respectful they will take the time to show you the issue instead of naming things off, he went out of his way to look at other issues for no charge and did not charge me labor for replacing a battery cable to my starter Im very impressed with pricing and the spectacular service on working with you

What a great experience, friendly and honest service from Sammy and Missy! Our family was on a camping trip in the Smokies when our Hummer started making some racket. I found Sammy through Google plus reviews and he got us in and out quickly and back to our vacation. Customer service is a dying art, thankfully it is still alive and well at Affordable Auto Repair!

Sammy took care of us on a Saturday morning (squeezing us in to his busy schedule) while we were hundreds of miles away from home and in need of some help. His white glove service, technical expertise, and efficiency truly set him apart. I was thrilled with my experience.

I have been two other shops trying to find a great shop and a great mechanic at the same and had no luck until i found out about Sammy at Affordable Auto Repair, i was so happy to find someone that i trust to work on all my vehicles and cares for my vehicles like their his own. I really wanted to have a good experience at this place - I love supporting local and small businesses. My time in the shop was good - Sammy explained everything to me (I clearly dont know much about cars) and even showed me what he was talking about on some example rotors. I went in to have my master cylinder checked because my brakes are a bit squishy, but Sammy explained that the last person to replace my brakes had put new brake pads on incredible thin rotors and hadnt machined the rotors. This surprised me because Id taken my car to Les Schwab in WA and asked them specifically to check my rotors, which they said were fine. Sammy then quoted me for new rotors and brake pads for all 4 wheels which would be just over $700.Before I spent that kind of money I wanted to get a second opinion, so I took my car to Firestone to have my brakes checked out. The guy there took a look at my rotors and said that they looked brand new, and even showed me on my own car. He asked me a bunch of questions about driving the car - the brakes were a little squishy but the pedal wasnt all the way to the floor and the wheel didnt shake at all when I brake - and he said confidently that I had nothing to worry about. I even found my receipt from Les Schwab for when I got my brakes replaced which stated clearly that they had checked and resurfaced the rotors.I dont know that Sammy was trying to scam me, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume he just misdiagnosed the car. But after hearing that news from Firestone I was really disappointed and it sure feels like he saw that I dont know much about cars and tried to get some money out of me. Whether it was an accident or not I wish hed been more honest and or done a more thorough check before quoting me $700, hence 1 star.

Car wasnt starting and apparently my terminals were not tightened enough. I felt silly and they tightened them up well and dint charge dime even though I took some of their time. When I need some actually repair done I know where I will turn. Thanks guys.

Same day service was very convenient. I knew what was wrong with my 2011 odyssey elite, and their diagnosis was spot on. Repairs were cheaper than the dealers quote and the van left the shop braking like new. Thank you Sammy. See you soon.

I would 100% recommend Sammy and his team for any auto repair or situation you find yourself in. Just last Monday we found ourselves with a car problem and called for help; they had us bring the car over and called us within a few hours to let us know what the issue was, how much it would be and what could possibly go wrong etc. They gave us answers before we could even ask the questions. Sammy stood by his word and prices, they worked around our schedule (unheard of) and not only did they call to update us as they worked on the car, but they got it finished a day earlier than anticipated. Also, the first day we were there we had to spend some time waiting in the lobby area, I have three children and most places give a bad vibe when you have children hanging around for any amount of time, well, they have an area set up that’s kid friendly and I never once felt uneasy or unwelcome. My youngest son was actually excited to go back and pick up the car because he wanted to go inside and play.
