I hate giving a bad review, but this one is well deserved. I had a beautiful George Nelson Sunburst clock from the 50s that I brought in to have the movement changed from an AC powered mechanism to a battery powered one. I got the clock back and one of the wooden star rays is very loose, which was not the case when I dropped it off. Also, the hands have the paint worn off in a pretty severe and not understandable way for a basic repair. Basically the vast majority of paint is gone from the ends of both hands, which was not the case when I dropped it off.I do think that I can repair this, but for the cost and extended waiting period for a simple modification, I expected a lot better. A simple 5 minute job of spray matte black would have resolved half of the problem, without me having to take it apart and fix it. Any good craftsman would have not let this slide, and the star ray is likely a simple repair that could have been done during reassembly, but it was not and that wasnt how it was brought in. Again, I have to take apart an antique wooden assembly and repair it myself after having it at this repair shop. Not good. There is no way a good technician would have let these glaring issues pass muster. When you deal with this business you will be only dealing with whom I believe is the mans wife, as it is at a private residence. So you really cant get any straight answers to any issues like I had. Not that she wasnt a nice lady, but she was not the one doing the modification and I never had an opportunity to interact with the person that did, and this is not a good situation for a beloved and very expensive heirloom.Consumer beware.
I truly do not like giving any business a very bad review. However after a $800 plus cost and a non responsive business, I feel i am required to give the Tic Tock firm a minus 100 % review. Our Herscedes Grandfather clock is the best in the business, and we felt the Tic Tock shop owes as a minimum a refund of our very expensive payment to them, plus correcting the damage they did to our wonderful clock. For instance, the minute and hour hands fell off. The hour does not strike. The quarter hour does not strike. The clock was not oiled properly. They will not answer our phone calls. They refuse to honor their guarantee
Mr.Weeks came and serviced my grandfather clock last week it had not worked in 17 years. It works perfect and sounds beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes and I am so happy it is working now.Thank you for all the hard work you did on it.Thank you so much Mr. Weeks
No one is available for months
I am still waiting on the repair of my clock after 15 months and multiple calls on my part. I requested to pick up my clock Unrepaired 3 months ago and was informed they had finally located the pairs needed for repair. Still no clock.
Does an excellent job fixing clocks. Lots of antique clocks.
Leon is extremely knowledgeable and conscientious. Old clocks are extremely complex instruments and can be very difficult to repair. He did job servicing and re-installing the works in our 1959 Herschede grandfather clock. Highly recommended.
We had an issue with our grandfather clock that I expected would require a lengthy and expensive repair. I didnt have to wait long for an in home appointment. Mr. Weeks arrived promptly, and he was done in what seemed like the blink of an eye, leaving me with a grandfather clock that was running better than ever, and the bill was MUCH lower than Id feared. Im glad I chose the Tic Toc Shop, and I highly recommend them!
My elderly mother had tic toc do a typical service call (oil etc) and to adjust/fix pendulum on antique grandfather clock. Over $400 later, the clock still doesnt work and has only been oiled. Now they say the pendulum isnt their responsibility (even though both tickets show adjust pendulum) on the bill and want to charge another house call to come back out. We have called other vendors and In the process have found out tic toc has a reputation for this sort of thing. Be careful.
I have had the pleasure to have TicToc service my antique clock over the years. Mr. Weeks has always been #1 with us.
Experience was excellent
