Do not go anywhere else for your drumming needs. Being relatively new to the Mason Montgomery area I went to guitar center and Sam Ash ….. pointless. I quickly found Badges and Charlie helped me find exactly the sound I was looking for in a second ride. We tested a few cymbals out and narrowed it down with Charlie’s recommendations, until I found the perfect fit. Would recommend Badges and go back for any drumming needs.

This is absolutely the coolest music store in the Greater Cincinnati area... worth visiting no matter what your musical background or level of experience, and definitely a geek-out spot for drummers. After checking out the great content on Instagram from Badges Drum Shop, I decided to order one of their t-shirts. No big deal, right? When my order arrived, the attention to detail on just a simple shirt order was notable. The shirt was packed nicely with twine and stickers and a card all together in a craft bag stamped with the Badges logo. Quality shirt too. Sounds silly to make something of this, but in this day and age, if a shop takes that much care when they send a t-shirt, I figure it carries over into the details of everything else they do. I am a musician who had been searching tirelessly for acrylic drums for some time now. These types of drums always fascinated me as a young child due to their look and unique sound. However over time, these drums became obsolete. The popular maple, birch, and the discovery of exotic woods took the look and sound of drums to a new level. Well eventually some drum companies decided to bring acrylic drums back. One of those companies was my drums of choice, Tama. Tama created the Silverstar Mirage and the Starclassic Mirage. Unfortunately these acrylic drums appeared to disappear just as fast as they came. Therefore I was unable to purchase them as new, so I went on the hunt to find both of them used. It was extremely difficult due to a limited amount available, especially when looking for a used set that had been cherished for its uniqueness and well kept. This is where Charlie Andrews of Badges Drum Shop comes into play. Charlie not only had the Tama Starclassic Mirage 5 piece kit available, but it was listed at a fantastic price, and the drums were in an absolute impressive condition. Now as if just having the drums available wasnt enough. Charlie was unbelievably awesome with his professionalism and eagerness to do all he could to make my dream of finally owning these precious drums come true. He gave me more insight about the drums via email and answered every question with patience. He made the sale extremely pleasant, and kept me constantly updated concerning the boxing up, shipping, and expected delivery. Even though all the things Ive purchased have been through the mail, they are extremely fast shippers.If you have a question they respond immediately and if they dont know the answer they will put you in touch with someone who does. I actually ordered a drum kit online via Reverb from Badges and the experience was the best I’ve ever had in ordering gear online. Charlie updated me every step of the way. When he was packing up my kit, making sure I knew the tracking number, when he shipped it, etc. I have to say that spending thousands of dollars on a kit I’ve never seen was a bit nerve racking, but I went for it, and Charlie came through. The kit is great and he even went out of his way to thank me for my business (not something I’ve experienced with online shopping). On a side note, this guy can pack up a drum kit. If you’re worried about your kit getting damaged in the mail, don’t worry about that! Charlie has it covered. DW and Grestch could probably take a few pointers him.Thanks Charlie
