Ron came highly recommended by many in the boating community and now as an actual customer, I can say the same. I thought my 2000 model Johnson 90 was ready for the grave yard but Ron practically diagnosed the problem in mere discussion. He fixed the problem and its never run better. Bottom line.... he and his son are the real deal in boat repair!

Got my boat fixed supposedly fixed they put on a new throttle cable new shifter cable and supposedly balanced out carbeurators but when I finally got to take it out after all the rain weve had my boat wouldnt even run so I will not be going back to this place anymore

Decided to take my pontoon here for a service on my outboard on Friday 4/17/20 and I am glad I did! I told the owner that I would like a tune up and to fully service the outboard, the owner was straight forward with me and told me a price that was very reasonable and told me what all that they would be doing and that if they see that the outboard doesn’t require a full tune up then they would only do the necessary service/repair and only charge for what they completed. All of the work that was complete was done to the utmost perfection and in a timely manner, it only took 2 business days to get the boat back on the water! Thanks to the technicians for the amazing work! The owner is a very friendly-down to earth guy and it’s very evident that he enjoys what he does! Ron is extremely professional and does not try to push or sway you into a service that he does not deem fit for your application and will not up sell you in any way! I enjoyed the conversations that we had and I feel as if I’ve known Ron all of my life, that’s just how comfortable I was being around him. Took care of everything that needed to be done and went above and beyond to check other things out to make us feel comfortable about being first time boat owners. Carolina marine and cycle are pretty awesome. Rebuilt and adjusted my outboard carbs for a very reasonable price. Worked me in pretty quick, and seems to know quite a bit about boats. I typically do my own work, but couldnt figure this one out. They got me going, for a very reasonable price.

My first experience with this company is because they were HIGHLY recommended. I was not steered wrong. The owner Ron answered the phone on the first ring and he wasnt even in his office. Explained I was a new boat owner and wanted my boat looked over, tuned up, serviced and receive an honest opinion on the entire rig. Asked when I could bring it and he said tomorrow and would complete it in one day. Ron lived up to his promises with the expert assistance from his knowledgeable son Johnny. I was charged way less than I expected and Ron actually gave free advice and some free needed parts. I will never go anywhere else and will pass his business cards out everywhere I go! I know nothing about boating but I do know people . Hands down I will always suggest Ron and his crew for any boating needs . I made calls to several companies to set up a time to look my (first) boat over so that I would feel safe taking her out. Almost everyone seemed so condescending because I may not understand what the hell a solenoid is or what it does . I mean it’s a flux capacitor in my world. I simply called the next guy, and the next guy . Then when I called Ron, he was so down to earth and explained things to me simply. Never selling, just talking. I brought my boat up the next day and one day later it had every issue addressed and fixed. The cost of repair was never questioned and frankly I believe it was a steal. Ron shoots ya straight. I dropped my boat off for the first time expecting to see it in a couple weeks, I thought I was being pranked when he called me later the same day to say it was fixed and ready to go! Its obvious these folks have a wealth of know how and experience with boats.

Carolina marine and cycle is the best. Not to mention the most affordable in Charlotte. I live in the east suburbs so I have to most of the time drive an hour for repairs and pay crazy prices. This a great place to take your boat and motor. Ron and his son are excellent mechanics and solid men of integrity. My skiff needed a stator ignition that we didnt discuss and he threw it in at no extra charge. I highly recommend Ron and his team.

I had a motor on my boat that had me get towed in the first 3 times I used it. He rebuilt a different motor, put it on and we now enjoy our time on the boat! He’s the man!

I finally decided to try and pay someone to do it for me.I gotta tell y’all, finding ron and his son was the best thing I could’ve done. Read the reviews, they are all true. My only complaint is that I didnt come to Ron sooner. I had multiple people look at my boat ( and overcharge) me this summer. We tried starting up our 20 year old Lund, but something broke in the fuel line somewhere as fuel was leaking. With only 14 days until we start our vacation on Lake Hartwell, several other companies said they were “too busy right now.” This has to be the worst feeling ever! A beautiful lake house and potentially NO boat! I called Carolina Marine and Ron told me “doesn’t sound too bad, can you bring it in?” He diagnosed the issue in minutes and told me he had time to get to replacing the fuel filter and doing a tune up that afternoon. Fantastic service! Thank you! Looking forward to using our sweet old boat for years to come!

I got a boat at an action and it looked good to me not knowing what I have I called Ron and he said bring it down to check it out at first things looked good but it started down hill. Ron has worked on our boats for several years. Last year we had a computer module go bad on a older 115 hp Evinrude. Unfortunately, the part was discontinued and no longer available. Realizing that I would prefer to repair the motor versus buying a new one, Ron asked for a couple of days to see what he could do. He contacted me the next day to let me know that he found the part and could fix it if I still wanted it repaired. He fixed it and saved us a tremendous amount of money. On Saturday of Fathers Day weekend, we were launching our pontoon boat and realized it would not go into gear. I called Ron and left a message to let him know that I would be dropping it off on Fathers Day and wanted to know if he could look at it the following week. Ron called me back to let me know that he would. Ron actually met us when we dropped off the boat and looked at it. A cable had come off a pin inside the engine. He told us if we could wait 5 minutes he would repair it. When we tried to pay him for the job, he looked at me and said Happy Fathers Day- Theres no charge. Ask yourself if your boat guy would ever do that. None of ours in the past wouldve. Whether your boat repair job is big or small, Ron can handle it.
