Dr. Shuttles is fantastic. She is very professional and takes time to explain things in way that they are easily understood. The staff are amazing, incredibly friendly and personable. They make it a very enjoyable experience while picking out glasses.

Most enjoyable optometry experience I’ve ever had! Jennifer was incredibly helpful in getting the cost down by using my insurance strategically. She also has an eye for picking out frames based on one’s face shape and coloring. She helped me narrow down from the hundreds of choices and gave her honest opinion. The rest of the staff weighed in on contact color decisions as well. It really was a team effort! And a strong team they are!

This is by far the best experience I’ve ever had, not only with the Dr. but with the Dr’s staff and with the optical department staff. They were extremely helpful and more importantly, kind! They showed me my glasses options and let me decide what I needed. I explained what I wanted, they delivered and didn’t try to up sell me anything. I hate that uncomfortable feeling of people trying to sell me something I don’t want so these gals get a 10/10 from me. They did their job perfectly! I am a lifelong customer now because of these ladies and won’t go anywhere else.

I had a great experience and my glasses came earlier than expected. It was convenient to get an eye exam on my lunch break and pick up my glasses on the way home. I’ll be back for contacts soon.

I havent had an eye exam in roughly 3 years and I made an appointment for an eye exam for contacts. They were super sweet and informative about the contacts and how my eyes are doing. Would recommend to my family and friends.

Jennifer was extremely unprofessional and rude. She proudly and loudly criticized customers directly to their face as well as to other customers and coworkers. She immediately had a combative attitude and laughed while calling customers names such as “idiot”. She also stated she was “tired of customers”. At one point, she and her coworker congratulated one another on their demeaning comments. I have never witnessed nor experienced such gross mistreatment of a customer. Although I have long been a Target shopper including the optical center, I will not return to this location. The entire experience resulted in my first online review; I sincerely hope it will spare other customers from Jennifer’s insulting behavior and comments.

I did not have an exam there. I filled my prescription there. The staff was wonderful. They helped with making choices and helped me when I came to pick up my prescriptions.

I initially had a great experience here - exam went well, bought a pair of frames and lenses from them and they came in fairly quickly.However, I have called them and visited them in person several times explaining to them that Id like to get a cheap pair of back up glasses to keep in my car. I have asked and asked for my pupillary distance (because they left it off of my prescription) and they refuse to give it to me - even though that is considered to be part of my medical record (glasses are a Class 1 medical device). I have received several excuses for why they wont - We can be held liable if the manufacturer makes the glasses incorrectly, Its company policy, We just dont give that out.I have filed a complaint with the FTC and will follow up with a formal complaint to the US Dept of Health and Human Services (once the 30-day timeframe theyre allotted to give me this information runs its course).

Jennifer helped me out to get glasses and contacts ordered. Especially with the pandemic affecting how we interact, she was awesome in explaining what my options are with insurance and working with me on my options. I never felt uncomfortable or had the impression of being upseld. The staff was professional, light humored, and courteous.

First time shopping this location and long story short I will never use target optical matthews again!!! Picked and ordered a pair of glasses but when I went to pick them up the sales rep had ordered a different pair because she thought they would look better on me. Well thats not what I ordered. After getting order incorrect for a second time I still dont have the glasses I had picked out. Theyre too busy trying to be over friendly to get an order correct. Shop here at your own risk but avoid if possible.

Jennifer is hands down the nicest person I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She was very helpful in helping me find a pair of glasses that look best on me and that I am happy with. I spent half an hour trying on frames and couldn’t decide what I wanted, (I never felt rushed to make a decision) she sat down with me and let me try them on with her and she was able to point out the little details I missed and I was finally able to choose a pair I really like, out of the 4 I was considering. I recommend checking this location out. Got my glasses in as little as 5 days and Jennifer took her time in making sure the fit was just right when they arrived. She spent a good 15 minutes with me making sure they were comfortable on my face before I left. Thank you for such great customer service. Will definelty be back in the future!

Ok, who knew Target had an optical care center ?This place was BUSY, but the front desk and eye care center were super friendly and accommodating to the patient customers . The optometrist on duty was efficient and professional. The atmosphere was very laid back and I loved how the employees were comfortable around the customers it didnt have the stuffy vibe like private eye centers.The only negative is I feel its a little too small for the traffic that comes through here, I felt claustrophobic a few times, but it is a Saturday at peak hours.Kudos to target for upholding their excellent level of service in the optical area too. We will be back .

Excellent customer service and very fast turn around. Also the eye doc was fast and efficient and was on point for my prescription. I was a walk in and they squeezed me in!!

Terrible experience. Went there in July 2018 for a contact and glass exam for my son and when I asked him to do the contact exam the doctor stated that he does not like to do contact exams for kids under 13 unless they ask. I thought it was weird but he said when he’s ready come back and do contacts. We went back in Nov 2018 and the doctor stated I had to pay $80 for the contact exam because his last exam expired. He made me leave and come back and now says his last exam, 4 months ago, was expired so he has to do an entirely new exam. Been going here for years and at this point will never go back.

Went into the optical center at Target in Matthews today . Just wanted to view frames to see what options the store had . But while I was in the store there were 3 employees ... A young lady that was vacuuming and an older gentleman which advised that it was OK for me to come in and take a look around . So while looking around and trying on frames, while my back was turned another lady was sitting down with an aggrevated look of disgust asked me was “I gonna buy anything or was I just looking” . She did not greet me or say hello as the other two employees did . Instead she appeared from no where with the craziest look on her face, as if I was taking up their time, because they were ready to go . I would say that I wouldn’t purchase from this location due to the service that was presented . She shouldn’t be working with consumers if she is going to be looking crazy like she DID not want to be at work .. This was not a good experience by any means .. very unprofessional. The store didn’t close until 6pm today and I took a picture of the frames and bar code at 5:45pm . But yet I felt Rushed by this lady ..Very disappointed in this experience ..Bothered ........ !!!!!

Nice & satisfactory experience at this location, all the staff and doctor are nice. Visited with family, Dr. Mandy Sallach counselled on preventive measures as well, Angelina & Jennifer clarified all my insurance payment related questions and options in detail and advised on frames too!

This review is for Target Optical Store in Matthews, NC.While I had my eye exam someplace else....I was told by a friend to vist Target Optical. After a full weekend of going to 5-6 eyewear stores, I finally decided to go with Target Optical.While their selection was not nearly as vast as other stores.....the variety of the selection was much better than other stores I visited.Jennifer Paris was my Optician. Not only did Jennifer know everything about glasses, fit, style, perscritions.....she was so much fun. Her personality and confidence made me want to do business with her. Shes been doing this work since 1988....so I think that definitely classifies her as an expert.While the store was super busy.....Jennifer managed to multitask and keep everything going while keeping things calm.They quoted 7-10 working days before my eyeware would be ready. My 2 pair were ready in 3 days! I was super excited! Fast turn around.While I shopped deals all over town.....Jennifer got me the best deals on my glasses.....and also helped me find the perfect pair.When I went in to retrieve my new glasses.....Jennnifer was not there. A super nice lady with a dark pony tail and cute glasses helped to do my final fitting and answered my questions. She was really helpful and also reassuring that the pairs I chose were perfect for my style and my face.Go to Target Optical in matthews, NC. You wont be disappointed.

I will never use them again.. After 5 visits to get some contacts, the Dr. gives me my prescription and I order my contacts online and proceed to use, well they were blurry. So I call them back and they tell me I was given the wrong prescription. Ok, so I ask if they would reimburse me for the wrong contact prescription since this is what you told me to order, “no” they said, even though it was their fault, they would not reimburse me for opened contacts that I had to return them buy the right prescription..NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE.

Unprofessional and disorganized. The lady stalked me while I was looking at frames, shoving her choices at me and giving me disapproving looks at the ones that I chose. When I informed her I could manage she kept insisting that she help and even forced my husband away from me, seemed appalled that I was considering some of the frames intended for males and made me feel like I was disgusting for even suggesting a women wear them. After I selected my frame choices she had no idea how to ring up the transaction and charged my insurance twice. 30 minutes of trying to just ring me up another lady came over and took the transaction from her, this woman at least knew her job but the damage had been done. Now its been 16 days and still no glasses and they cant tell me when I can expect to receive them, I will be using eyebuydirect and zenni from now on. I receive my order in 5 days at the most from these online providers. The one star is for the optometrist, this young lady was polite and efficient.
