First time in Cycle Gear and had a great experience. Vlad came up to me (I didnt have to search someone out for help) to assist in my helmet search. Vlad is knowledgeable and happy to assist. I ended up purchasing a helmet on the Cycle Gear website, used. Im taking a Can-Am class and wanted a good helmet but not expensive. Helmet was shipped to the store. When I picked up, the store associates were helpful as well. If I decide to ride on a regular basis, I will be back to Cycle Gear.

We just bought a new bike and my wife is a new rider. We needed all the gear and went to visit Lauren at Cycle Gear. She was extremely knowledgeable and was able to share details with my wife so she could make an informed decision about the jacket, pants, boots, gloves and other accessories. Lauren was patient, made really good recommendations providing alternatives including other brands or ordering online for items not in stock. She ensured she found comparable items for trying on prior to our purchase so we could be confident we were getting the right things in the right size. I was also able to pick up some really good pieces in rain suits and riding jackets for myself. Both my wife and I can be difficult to fit so Laurens knowledge of the products and patience explaining alternatives to us made our experience exceptional. Wasted 1 1/2 hours of my time and gas driving there because told me my tires were mounted and balanced! I get there and they haven’t moved from the counter I set them beside. Am told it’ll be done tomorrow. Completely ruined a ride I was supposed to go on with others and asides from that they’re charging $50 PER TIRE to mount.Edit: guy was nice enough to give a discount and make up for it. Changed review accordingly. Apparently new team there and there was a big misunderstanding.

Awesome store hands down, but the experience was great for one reason only. Will, the rep that helped me is absolutely spectacular at his job. This man helped me pick out a perfect helmet that fit my glasses 100%. He knew every single feature these helmets had down to the padding inside. After I got my helmet, and a sweet visor he helped me pick out. We walked over to the jackets and he then explained the great features of every jacket at different pricing. He knew my budget and didnt up sell me at all. He went respectfully with my needs and wants. Ended up leaving with a helmet, and a nice jacket. I still had my helmet from when I arrived my old one, he even tied my helmet to my backpack for safe travels. What a great experience I had, thanks to My man Will. I went to this store to replace headset that Ive been using for approx. 7 years. I spent a good amount of time working with Lauren. Lauren provided the level of customer service thats rarely seen today. I asked her a lot of questions and she patiently and professionally answered them. For questions where she wasnt sure of the answer, she didnt guess or throw any answer to me, rather, she took a moment to ask her manager. In addition, she didnt try to sell me on the most expensive headset but she took her time so that we could figure out what the best unit is, which works for my style of intense riding. Usually people come online to bash a company or a person but I dont think people take the time to share positive experiences. Thank you Lauren for excellent customer service. I truly appreciate your time.

Cycle Gear in Matthews is where you want and need to go and shop for all your gear. I had the extreme pleasure of assistance from Lauren and Zack helping me prepare myself for a trip to the Dragons tail, they shared experiences of their own journey as well as helping me accessorize from jackets,pants, boots, gloves and video on board ( helmet ) necessity. A pair of gloves that I don’t use much have a soft lining. Spring and fall weight. Lining came loose so that I couldn’t get my little finger in it. Out of warranty, but my store generously allowed me a significant discount on a replacement. Not obligated to do anything, but they took care of me. Thanks, Matthews, NC store!

We went in for two new helmets and were not disappointed, they have a large selection and we found exactly what we needed. We had to order my wifes first helmet but Cycle Gear had her size in stock, in the style and color she wanted. I didnt catch the guys name that helped us but he said from the start he was new, he did a great job, he got a ladder and retrieved the helmets that were up high that we wanted to look at and didnt rush us. We were also looking for a pair of riding gloves for my wife and again found exactly what she was looking for.

Love this store. Have bought 300 dollar jackets for 100 on clearance and their selection of gear is very impressive. With the new Fastlane financing program they have it make even the more expensive gear affordable and it helps build or repair your credit which in these days is huge. The stag is helpful and knowledgeable.

This place is great! From the moment I stepped in, the employees were nothing short of welcoming, kind, and helpful. I didnt feel out of place or weird, even though I definitely didnt look like a typical cyclist. I was looking for random accessories for my e-bike, which can be hard to find in Charlotte, but I was able to get what I needed. I never felt like I was pushed for a sale or ignored or anything. Highly recommend them!

The girl that helped me was absolutely amazing! I just bought my first bike and was buying all the necessary equipment for it, helmet, jacket etc. I came in 30 mins before closing and she stayed and helped me through the process for almost an hour after closing. We came into the shop around 6p to get fitted for a helmet because we had money to buy since our motorcycle class starts next week. We came in, asked about getting fitted, the guy at the cash register told us that the best way to get fitted is for us to try on helmets in the store. Not once did any one ask if we needed help or if we were finding what we looking for. We finally found a size that seem to fit. We checked the merchandise. Still no one even approached us to help. We needed a padded jacket too. We left. We found another store to get what we needed.

These guys are amazing. I have been shopping with the Charlotte cycle gear location ever since I timidly walked in to get outfitted for MSF. They were super helpful, kind with my newbie questions and didn’t try to up-sell me on a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. Fast fwd 8 months and they are still my go to location. Customer service is great, exchanges easy etc. Pro tip - if you see something on the website that you of like give the store a call and order through them so they can get credit for the sale. Ive been here a few times and made several purchases. I bought some gloves that I determined the next day were too small, and they were happy to exchange. Yesterday I bought a mount for the phone. They were happy to let me pull it out of the box and take it to the bike to make sure I had the right thing.They can be a bit busy, and yesterday they were understaffed but still friendly and helpful. The shop is 30 miles from home, but still worth going there when I need good selections and options to consider. I will certainly return for other purchases.

I wish I had gotten her name but there was a petite young lady that helped us out and she was such a pleasure to work with. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and even with a packed store I could see her effort to interact with all customers without making anyone feel like they were being ignored or rushed. As a first time customer of Cycle World, I ordered a couple of items on-line for in-store pick-up. The process was seamless, and my items were readily available. Once at the store I found a good selection of products in stock, mostly apparel, helmets, and accessories. It also appeared that some new inventory had just arrived and was of being sorted and stocked.

I was referred to Cycle Gear by a friend. My first experience wasnt exactly what I expected based on my friends bragging. There was a particular riding boot that I went to get and they didnt have it in stock. So I decided to go with a different boot that I liked and they didnt have it in my size. So it really didnt seem like the best customer service because the sales person didnt try to get me at a place of feeling the best after not getting what I came to get. I felt kinda brushed off as if he said . . . Oh well to bad. And he walked off leaving me to search for myself. After not satisfying the customer twice with what you should have had based on the bragging of others, I felt he should have did something to make me want to aleast come back one day if I needed any other motorcycle gear . . . But not! To me your first impression should always be your best impression. So there was nothing overwhelming about Cycle Gear in Monroe NC and I personally will not shop there for my motorcycle needs. If I could say one thing that I feel would make Cycle Gear better, it would be GET YOUR GEAR UP not having motorcycle gear in a motorcycle shop is like KFC not having chicken or I-Hop not having pancakes. GET YOUR GEAR UP

They sell motorcycle gear, parts and accessories. Excellent folks working there had a map of the best roads in the area and took the time to talk to me. I love that Cycle Gear mostly hires riders but the folks here were just a step above some of the other locations.

Nate and Zach were extremely professional and helpful in providing exceptional service on my new helmet. They took the time to listen to my concerns and it made my purchase with the installation of the new sena.

I came to try on different helmet sizes. When I asked John some questions, he answered them very thoroughly and explained everything. He took at least twenty minutes of his time to help me decide the right size and helmet for me. He even let me tried on a few helmets and said he would clean them up after. For those reading this review in the future, we had a little pandemic at the time of writing that changed hygiene standards for i don’t know, forever. So, cleaning the helmets Is a big deal. The level of customer service I received was unbelievable. The organization, selection, and cleanliness of the store also receive top marks. If you ever need a place to try and purchase motorcycle gear in Charlotte, this is the only place you should go for all your needs.
