Brad the manager is one of the nicest guys there. Very helpful and very fast service
Other than taking into account that Jiffys computer incorrectly believes my trucks recommended rear axle fluid change is at 7,500 miles which it is only for vehicles in harsh driving like towing and steep mountain driving, its actually 15,000, I have had very good experiences at my local Jiffy. They will up sell, but not to being frustrated. So I always consult my owners manual first. The pricing is reasonable and the service is routinely very efficient and quality work (although I havent check the torques and state of my drain plug). The brake work was excellent on my other vehicle, a sedan, which I personally used to perform the work on.
I grew up working on Jeeps and rebuilding engines, so I fancy myself knowing a little bit about car maintenance and repairs. Jiffy Lube has gotten a bad rap over the past several years, mostly for sloppy or incomplete maintenance procedures (leaving an oil cap off, forgetting to refill the oil, not changing the filter, etc). Needless to say I was a little nervous about trusting them with my (very expensive) vehicle. To set expectations, when done right, here is what Jiffy Lube is expected to do:- Ask you what oil type youd like to use (conventional, synthetic blend, or full synthetic).- Remove skid plates and any other underbody accessories that might be blocking access to the oil drain plug or filter.- Open oil fill cap, remove oil plug and drain oil.- Remove oil filter and replace, hopefully using a sharpie to date the filter.- Refill the oil to the manufacturers specifications.- Check oil level.- Clean off surfaces under engine.- Start engine and check for leaks using blue light.- Replace skid plate or any other accessories removed.- Refill any low fluids, washer fluid, coolant, etc.- Check engine air filter (and replace if youd like).- Check cabin air filter (and replace if youd like).- Check and fix tire pressures. As you might expect, this entire process can take a while. I wouldnt expect it to be done in 15 minutes; haste makes waste. Id prefer theyre careful and get it done right, in maybe 30-40 minutes. My dealership (Acton Toyota) takes about an hour and they also require an appointment; yes, the dealership is about $20 cheaper for a routine oil change, but the convenience factor simply isnt there.Anyway, on to my review... I recently visited this Jiffy Lube in Maynard with my vehicle, then with my wifes vehicle. With mine, I dealt mostly with Brad, who was super honest and reasonable about my situation. Most of the bolts to remove the skid plate under my Land Cruiser were rusted and he was afraid they would break if he tried to remove them; the problem was that the oil filter was inaccessible without removing the skid plates.Rather than breaking the bolts and pretending it never happened (youd be surprised), he let me know the situation and told me the risks. He gave me a few options, and I went on my way - I was pretty happy that he told me the truth rather than doing things the easy way. Whats the easy way? Draining the oil but not swapping the filter, which I suspect the dealership had been doing for at least a few years given the state of the bolts.I went home and removed it all myself. He was right, I ended up breaking about half the bolts. I brought it back a few days later (with the skid plates temporarily removed) and they did a great service; my son and I watched them with every step and it was clear they were very careful with checking and double-checking each step.I had the same great experience with my wifes MDX. No surprises with that one, just easy and honest. Kudos to Brad and his team for making this a great oil change option! Personally, I think your Jiffy Lube experience largely depends on who is managing the store, and the attitude and diligence of the people working there at the time.
While not cheap, they provide one of the best services that I have seen. They do their work quickly and effectively. Not only that, they are very kind to their customers. They made a small error on my payment and they started fixing it immediately once I came back to tell them about it
I needed help on a Sunday because I noticed my brakes were making noise. Travis said he could get the needed parts and replace my rear brakes and that the service would take about an hour and a half. As promised, I drove away with new brakes 90 minutes later. Great professional service. Thank you!
Went for AC service, which can be tricky. They clearly explained they might not be able to fix it, and the risks and charges involved. As it turns out, it worked. (There may still be a small leak, but thats the risk I take going there, where its quick and fairly cheap.)
Travis at JiffyLube was very helpful and diligent at providing services in a very timely manner. Keep it up
Had a great experience here today. Travis and the guys were awesome 😊
Best Jiffy Ive been to. Brad and the team made everything very easy and were very professional.
This is a great Jiffy Lube that both my Mom and I have gone to before. They are always very friendly, give good advice, and doing great work on our cars. Thumbs up to Bradford, Robert, and the people in the office for taking good care of us!
Then men were very polite and professional.
I can still depend on the folks at the Maynard jiffy lube for prompt and courteous service.
Great job Very professional and efficient And friendly staff
Great customer service.
Fast, professional service!
Always fast and professional, no appointment needed
Great service and the guys are wonderful! Easy to talk to and super quick!
How to loose a customer of your locations for 30 years.... Tell the car owner, after you have already drained his oil that your inventory system was wrong and you dont have the oil filter and it will be $14.00 extra to get one from down the road auto parts store and dont even credit the cost of the filter you would normally have in stock. How you could have kept a 30 year old customer and continue to have him refer business to you? Tell him about the filter mix up but say since we have already drained the oil, and you dont have an option anymore and it was our inventory error, we wont charge the $14.00 normally needed for a non stock filter.Your loss Jiffy Lube, Never again!
Maynard location. Service uneven, and not all items on the checklist are checked. Greeter not seen after initial contact. Felt rushed.
AWESOME !! You do not normally fine young men to be that polite and sweet. They were so respectful and kind my 85 uncle almost brought tears to my eyes they open the door for him they walked him to the door to enter Jiffy Lube and they walked him out to the car waited until he was in and shut the door I was very touched so was he! Excellent job done! I offered the kid a few box and he said I cannot take that against the rules. What kid 18 to 20? would you do that
Due to Covid-19, I drove my car into the garage and stayed there while the work was done. The employees were friendly and efficient. I use the Maynard Jiffy Lube location whenever I get an oil change near my home.
Service was friendly however it seemed to take way longer than expected for an oil change. I have been to others and they were a lot faster. This was on an off hour during a Monday so I wouldnt think it would take as long. Service was great though.
Always great service.
The manager Brad was really good and took care of me quickly
These guys are great. A little more pricey than our mechanic but Ill take it for the convenience of getting my oil changed and in a pinch will do other services as well. Sometimes a little but of a wait but still way faster and more convenient than a traditional mechanics shop.
The waiting room was very cold and uncomfortable. Normally not a problem at a rapid oil change place but it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the service. It would be nice to be advised of a lengthy expected wait so I could have the option to come back at a later time.
Outstanding service. Professional advice. Very good value. APPLAUSE
COVID19 is challenging for everyone. In trying to remain safe, suggested to my wife she try Jiffy Lube in Maynard. Very surprised to hear she was trying to be sold the $99 premium oil change. When she asked for standard, that was $66. The service was over an hour and it is unprofessional to sell an overpriced oil change. Should services cost more during a pandemic?
Great shop! We bring all our vehicles there and the guys are phenomenal .Highly recommended local shop with top quality work! You’re always in good hand with Steve and his crew
They do a standard Jiffy lube job, but they take FOREVER. This is supposed to be the quick oil change place. With 1 person in front of me it just took 45 minutes to get an oil change, and this is not the fist time I its taken a long time. Although the couple with 2 cars that came in 10 minutes after me seemed to mange to get out at the same time as me. I WONT be going back.
Very professional staff with prompt service! Enjoyable visit!
Taught me some stuff about the fluid and was helpful
I have visited a Jiffy Lube for the last time. Several months ago, I brought my Subaru to this Jiffy lube in Maynard for an oil change, I noticed oil staining my garage floor shortly after. But, because I was experiencing a steering issue with the car, I thought it was power steering fluid. When I brought it to my mechanic, I was told it was engine oil that was leaking and the drain plug was loose. Honestly, I didnt even complain and just thought I wont be going back. But, apparently I dont learn... just today I brought my fiancees car to Jiffy Lube. I took her car, not only because I am a nice fella, but because she doesnt want to deal with the sales tactics, PARTICULARLY at Jiffy Lube. But I did go and it got to me, AGAIN.Why would I pay $24 for an air filter in good condition when I could purchase one a mile away for $13?? And why the attitude if I dont purchase it? I didnt ask you to check those things, nor did I ask for you take parts of out the car and show them to me... and then talk to me as if I am fully neglecting a child under my care.Adding insult to injury, air was not put in the tires during this most recent visit (one was at 25 psi when I got home), nor could I tell if any of the other signature services occurred, that apparently I paid for.Joking aside, the staff is generally pleasant and hard working and I respect that. But, the high pressure sales, sales, sales model combine with lack luster execution of services that I paid for have forced me and my fiancee to seek alternatives, even though Jiffy Lube is more convenient.
Consistently these guys have been knowledgable and friendly
In terms of the staffs friendliness, it is good. but i dont go to shops for friendliness, which can be a plus, but for them to do their job. an oil change - what could go wrong, right?well, after the oil change, within 100 miles (or less than that maybe), my car would not go. then my engine oil light came up, so went back... they said i was almost done wiht my oil... which didnt make sense.. and they said i could be burning my oil, which means, i have to do work on it later. one guy also talked about how i could be doing a lot of damage/pressure on my transmission, how i may need to change the fluids... they topped it off, and i went to an auto shop in Boston just a few days later. the engine oil was not topped off, it was slightly low, in fact. and nothing else was wrong with my car - even the transmission was clean. the mechanic at the place in Boston topped it off for me, and nothing has been burned off even after 200 miles.i really wonder if they are real mechanics. that, or, really tried to take advantage of a young woman who seemed unassuming. never going back!
This is not a review of the business, this is review of the people that are there as of 9/7/2019. There is a small card store across the street that opens its doors to the community a quite a bit of people like to play various games there. The problem is that they have no parking, nowhere at all! Jiffy lube had some extra parking that they are not using at times behind there store and was willing to let me park there to go down to the store for community events. The people there are super nice and deserve that recognition for being nice to the local community. You have my business, thank you for being open to the community. This is how a business survives in the long run.
Group of hard-working guys that get the job done. Prices are fair and usually pretty transparent. Paying to get car work done isnt fun, but at least these guys do what they can to help.
They are good for oil changes... and occasionally they tell you about potential issues... however, they often make stuff up to get extra money out of you. For instance, your fluids probably arent low... mine werent, but they claimed they were. Also, if they offer to lube your brakes for a $100... dont do it... its probably just a waste of your money.
I had my Audi serviced this wknd. 8/9; front brake pads needed to be replaced. Even though the parts had been ordered earlier in the week, the car had a unique double sensor in the front, requiring Travis B. to locate one through several attempts at the dealership. Travis B. and Steven S. worked on my car well past closing on Friday to finish...7:55 instead of the usual 7:00 closing. I have been bringing my cars to jiffylube since 2009 and will continue to do so...due to the great service, great pricing professionalism and courteous respect shown to patrons. Kudos to jiffylube in Maynard!@
Nice tidy service, can always count on the folks at the Maynard jiffy lube.
I usually go here for oil changes. The guys here are fast and nice. They are honest and dont mess with customers.
Ive been using them for 3+ years and have always been satisfied. Theyve gone the extra mile to do things right and will help you out with a coupon if you are lacking.
Solid quality, good service, and patient with people who dont know cars.Yes, they are required to try to sell you services, but they are not pushy and offer really good information on what and why.
Had my oil changed on Saturday 10-22-14 in the late afternoon. First let me say the guy working on my car was very nice. That all ended when I went to pay for it and the woman working at the register helped me. She wouldnt say a word to me and even threw down the paper you sign and my receipt onto their desk. Not even a thank you for coming in or anything. I would stay far away from this place as I have advised others to do.
Very helpful, informative, and thorough crew. Went above and beyond to inspect and fix my truck, thank you Maynard Jiffy Lube!
Actually in and out quickly and actually very good service. Ive been going to only this location for the last year now would not consider another.
Great customer service and friendly staff. They were completely open to discussion on service needs and gave great recommendations.
The manager Jesus is as good as they come. Great service
Friendly and fast
The place to get your oil change. I wouldnt have it any other way.
As almost everyone agrees, the people are pleasant enough, but rather in the corporate CS way, like anyone who wants to sell you something. At least they didnt try to sell me a new air filter (they checked it, against my instructions), which is fairly new and of the non-replaceable, washable K&N brand. But that they even tried is a turn off, because my car is very well maintained by my regular mechanic, who is better than these fast-food assembly-line operators, and because I told them at the outset that I wanted an oil and filter change ONLY.Furthermore, they washed my clean windows, without asking and without permission, which would have been OK, except they left them MUCH dirtier than they were when I brought the car in, i.e. with tons of dirty water spots from their dirty wash-water! If theres one thing I hate, its to have to fix aomething I not only didnt ask for, but specifically excluded! Then there was the cost. They charged me over 60 bucks for a job my better, full-service mechanic charges $35 for... I cant say I was pleased. The only reason I went to Jiffy Lube in the first place was that I was overdue for an oil change, and the other shops I use require an appointment. Ill have to plan ahead better next time...
Friendly staff, low pressure for additional services, quick service.
This Jiffy Lube is quick, efficient and reasonably priced. Nice Guys in there
If you want to watch the crew eat breakfast while you are the only car in the bay and then as more cars pull in start working on all of them at the same time so a ten minute oil change takes 50 minutes then this is the place for you. Not really jiffy ...
Has to be the worst Jiffy Lube. They inflated my tires by removing air down to 30 PSI (tires max inflation is 44 PSI) - Not to sharp. They miss installed my air filter (didnt latch it down). The facility smells like a bordello due to the air fresheners (multiple) going full blast - Had to go outside to get fresh air, it was 35 degrees, enough said. Lastly, they dont have the value oil change ($24.95). I asked when I came in and the guy said yes, then came to find out they dont and got charged for the signature which they did half assed. Go somewhere else. Management is crap.
Over an hour for a simple oil change.
Good and fast service .sometimes is busy though
Excellent service on my Honda. Made recommendations based on cars condition and mileage, but with no pressure to up-sell.
Friendly people,quick service
Dont get your brakes done at Jiffy Lube....
Anything but Jiffy yesterday. Over an hour for an oil change. When the truck came out it was making a new noise. Steven is glib but takes no responsibility. I wont be back.
Excellent service!
Great customer service!!!
Professional, courteous.
Do a great, very customer focused
Efficient, though not as clean as other Jiffy Lubes
Came in for an oil change, got an oil change. No upsales, friendly service.
