Easy to order, they were able to deliver on my first choice date. They arrived in the time period allotted would put my compost exactly where I asked. Staff were courteous. Great experience.

The site in this review in Mechanicsville appeared open but no one came to unlock the office door. It was 1-ish so maybe everyone was at lunch. I had just finished speaking to their central phone number and the associate assured me the site associate would be able to answer my questions and help me with the purchase I desired to make. There was a sign that informed of this sites August 1 relocation but no at lunch, will return by... Sign posted.As you can see I am posting on July 20th. There were trucks in the lot and even two chairs set up in the handicap parking spot (go figure).I left and went to their competitors and was able to talk with an associate at each store and close on a purchase. Would I recommend no for just driving by and dont want to try again.

I purchased 30 cubic yards of the 50/50 raised bed mix for a new raised bed garden at my farm. This stuff is horrible. after a few weeks of settling and rain the dirt becomes hard as a rock and killed many of our plants. We ended up having to till in 15 cubic yards of Peat moss to make it useable. Using the tiller on this soul after a few weeks of it settled in the beds was like tilling fresh ground. Huge waste of money, time and energy. Would not recommend to anyone.Below is the rock hard 50/50 mix on the left and after peat moss added on the right

Look elsewhere for mulch and soil mixes. I agree with other claims of poor service and bad quality product. I ordered a garden soil mix for my vegetable garden and ended up with something more akin to a mix of bad topsoil and shredded mulch; nothing grew. They dont seem to really care about whats in their mulches and soil mixes.

The playground bark we purchased was mostly dirt. Disappointing.

Bought a scoop of raised bed mix and it was full of clay and sticks. Ive bought from them before, and Ive been very satisfied. This time the product was terrible. I wont be back.

Very low quality products and poor service. They delivered a dufferent product then what i ordered and made no attempt to make things right when they were made aware of the mistakes. I will never do business with Yard Works again.

Great price and service! Will come back for all my yard needs.

This farm is really fun, especially in the fall when you can get pumpkins!
