Over many visits (to their seriously old school, cool shop), Mike and Mark continue to revive my vintage gear to a perfect condition. Their respect for my babies is obvious, along with their depth of knowledge and experience in their craft. Use them before they retire and were left to our own best guesses, and disastrous YouTube fixes
This place is amazing... I just got my kc880 roland repaired and it sounds better than when I bought it out the box!!!!
THE BEST MUSICAL SERVICE SHOP IN MEMPHISMike and Mark are knowledgeable beyond comparison! They will literally put their health on the line for your equipment. Mike will educate you on everything that’s going on with your equipment. I had a very obscure issue with my ‘92 Marshall JCM900 combo amp. Mike diagnosed it and translated a German website (not knowing German prior) to ship parts from Germany for me. This shop is a Memphis made gem! I’m so thankful for their quality and professional service. Since my amp has been completed, I consider Mark and Mike more than business associates but rather genuine friends. Great work! Great service! 5/5 Stars! My amp sounds better than it ever has!
They restored a 64 Fender Deluxe non-reverb for me and they did an incredible job. The amp was totally beat when I brought it in and didn’t work at all. It is very rare to find someone who would treat your gear as if it was their own, but they definitely did. The amp was carefully restored to its former glory (actually its better) and looks great. Their restoration has brought this rare amp back from the dead and added tons of value in the process. They kept me informed throughout the process, took photos, kept the old parts for me, meticulously catalogued everything they did and I would definitely trust them with any of my high end gear in the future.Highly recommended & great job overall, these guys are definitely pro’s!!!!!!!
I recently brought in a CASIO keyboard that had just quit on me. It had shut down. I really wanted to KEEP this keyboard and not give up on it. Mike was very personable and professional. He listened to me respectfully and explained to me what all he would have to do-- how long it might take--and how much it might cost. He kept me updated on the progress of the repair and called me when it was ready. He was NO NONSENSE-- NO BS-- and he made the whole process easy and smooth. I appreciated that. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business. --- Dont forget your CLAIM number ticket stub when you go to pick up your repaired instrument. I suggest you keep it in your Wallet like Mike suggested I do but I forgot. -- Sorry Mike 😄👋👋👋
Had a piece of gear break and took it in to these guys without knowing them at all. Mike was very kind and respectful. He kept me updated often and the whole experience was great. And they did a BEAUTIFUL job of repairing what I asked them to fix. Highly highly recommend these guys if you have an amp, pedal, keyboard, etc break. They are super cool dudes. If you go, tell em I sent you!!!
These guys know their electronics with an apparent expert understanding of the engineering and components. I had gotten a tube amp and promptly smoked it. They took the time to repair with better components than originally placed. My amp took a while due to a hum that had developed and the Covid stay in shelter order for the city, but this issue was thoroughly investigated where it was found that it was due to factory wiring issue. These guys enjoy the work that they do. While my repairs took longer than expected, I appreciated the commitment to improving the amp. Then again, given that an issue can have multiple parts to it, I cannot say that I can form an accurate expectation for repairs. Be prepared to stop and chat a while to learn more about your amp, keyboard, effects pedal, or whatever musical device you need repaired or adjusted as these guys know the history and components that make each unique.Note, this business is cash or check only. No credit cards.
I got my amp fixed here after being told it was broken beyond repair by 2 other professional amp technicians! Mike and Mark are both geniuses! You don’t want anyone else working on your gear! It is such a blessing to have a shop of this caliber in Memphis!
This is the best place for music equipment repair Ive ever used and Ive been in the music business for 50 years. Got my 2 Peavey PA heads in one day. I always have my equipment back within 2 days and its always like new when I get it. I highly recommend Mike for all your music equipment repair needs. Tell him Lynn sent you.
Fantastic service and great work. He is honest and made my amp sound better that before. highly recommend!
My vintage sound equipment made to “like new” at a reasonable price.
These guys really know what theyre doing and they have earned a customer for life!
Great guys, very honest and lowest service charges around.
Avoid this guy at all costs. I took him my digital piano to get fixed to sell as I was moving out of town in 2 months or so. He told me theyd have it looked at in 10 days to 2 weeks and that hed help me sell it. I didnt hear from him for a month, so I called and he just re-stated everything that wed discussed when I handed it over.I called once a week after that, and there was never any new development until I told him I was going to just have to come get it as I was moving. He said they had found the problem and were going to order the necessary part. A week or so later, less than a week before my move, he told me it was almost ready and estimated a price. When it was time to pick up the actual price had jumped by $50, there was no consideration for the amount of my time that he had wasted, and the price was considerably more than I had told him I was willing to spend. Added to that, is the fact that I now had no time to sell the piano. The man is a crook, he cant be trusted and you should take your business to Amro, Lane or anywhere else. Just dont do business with this guy.
I brought them my combo amp that was trashed by ups and they brought it back to absolutely roaring thanks guys
Musical Instruments Services Company has been in business in Memphis for a very long time. I used these guys when I was in high school many years ago, and have continually used them many times since. Matter of fact THESE ARE THE ONLY guys to do amplifier services for my company, Blues City Music. Theyve serviced all of my original vintage Marshall and Hiwatt guitar amps, as well as custom one off switching systems and MIDI devices. I cant recommend them enough. JLB Blues City Music.
Took an amp in for repair and never got it back. Will never take anything here again. Every time I came to pick it up I got an excuse - they would say its in the back in a box in parts and its not ready. I finally asked for the box of parts and they told me to come back next week - again. If you value your instrument or amp or whatever you have, DO NOT TAKE IT HERE BECAUSE YOU MAY NOT GET IT BACK - EVER!!!
Completely restored a Pioneer receiver from the 70s for a reasonable cost. Sounds terrific.
I wouldn’t recommend
Had my first repair from MIS Co six years ago. Came in today, with a broken Kustom, bad horn, and soder connections. Fixed in 45mins, while I waited. Old school experience, with new school tools, cant beatem!! They repair, amps, speakers, key boards, etc.
Excellent work from dedicated professionals!
If you go in this place, it looks like Radio Shack circa 1978 and a consignment 2nd hand instrument shop blew up and landed in here. Thats your first sign. Theyre supposed to be factory certified yet I had a keyboard there that they couldnt finalize repairs on after 2 YEARS. Thats right, I had a piece of gear there for 2 FULL YEARS and only heard from them on the phone a total of about 3 times in that timespan. Had to buy another keyboard to replace the one they had so I could play gigs. If you take anything here be prepared to have to hound them about it because they wont call you (and be prepared to hear excuses), and also be prepared to have it take 2-100 times as long as youd expect, and maybe pay more than youd expect, too. This place is a disaster in every sense of the word.
Good quality service A1
