Mike at J&L is by far the nicest and most outgoing shop guy around, and his crew is great to work with. Hes worked on a few of my vehicles now and some emergency vehicle situations, to basic maintenance. they get the job done at a great price, always explains whats happening and is willing to give advice on what needs to be done. hes helped save hundreds of dollars vs the dealerships in town.10/5 if I could, always recommend these guys.

Would give them a 10/5 if we could! We were passing through on a Friday afternoon, 2 hours from home, and ended up needing help asap. The dreaded call to an auto shop hoping to “squeeze us in” was so easy with them, no questions, just bring it down and we will figure it out. Amazing service, fast, genuine, couldn’t ask for a better shop to break down near!

Been going here many years. Even through the transition to the newest owner. The quality of work, fair cost of services, and professionalism of all the staff are second to none. I cant recommend, in good faith, any other auto repair shop in town. Every visit to J and L is a welcoming experience.

On a recent trip to Menomonie to visit our daughter, we had the misfortune to have the radiator in our truck go out. The guy who towed us back into town suggested J&L as a possible place to take it. Luckily, it was less than a half mile from our daughters house, which was the deciding factor since we knew of no other place. The professionals at J&L diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts and were able to get us in the same day. (There was a cancellation) I cant say for sure, but I BELIEVE Mike stayed a bit late that night and I know he came in early to get us on the way. Over the top service and very fair prices. As a guy who knows just enough about cars to get himself in trouble, Im always on the lookout for a good, honest mechanic. Ive tried three here in Menomonie.In my experience, these guys are easily the most trustworthy mechanics in town. Theyve always done solid, quality work on our car and truck. Theyre honest, and dont try to fink out on you or sell you something you dont need. They will give you your options straight and tell you the risks.

These guys really know their stuff. I vaguely described a few issues and they had the knowledge and experience to diagnose the issues I had just been living with for years. They got it fixed up better than knew in no time, and took the time to describe and educate me a little bit. Price was very reasonable. I highly recommend J&L Auto.

I greatly appreciate their helpfulness. I dont live in the area but was stuck in Menomonie with car issues. I was able to secure an appointnent rather quickly and my car was fixed and ready to go within days. I am sure in my opinion that they do good!

They wanted to charge me almost $ 7,000 to fix my car.. Went down the road and got it fixed for $1,400. Over charged and wrong diagnostic..

I picked up a screw in my rear tire of my gold-wing. The guys stopped everything to help out and put in a plug. Very friendly employees, extremely honest and fair priced. They made my problem a priority and solved my problem. I would not hesitate to go to them with any repair need.

Two guys own this place and both of them are top notch guys. I hate going to auto repair places because I feel theyre just emptying my wallet. Very good place to get work done on vehicles

This is the kind of place you HOPE to find when traveling!Driving from Chicago to a workshop at UW-Stout, my check engine light went on. I was freaked out. The last time, it was nothing (just a diagnostic thing at the wrong time), but the many times before that, it was a huge deal. The car was running fine, but because of our history, I was uncomfortable driving it for too much longer with the light on.On campus, I asked one of the locals where to go. He said hed never been there himself, but had heard good things about J & L, so I called them. I explained the situation. It was a Friday afternoon and the man on the phone told me that they wouldnt have time to actually perform any repairs, but theyd be happy to run the code for me. I went straight over. Luckily, the code was the same as previous (my car likes to run diagnostic checks on the emission system while Im pumping gas, it seems). He cleared the code and I was on my way. They knew I was an out-of-towner and therefore am not likely to return when/if something DID go wrong with my car, but they offered free & friendly service to a traveler in need. I wish Id caught their names, but I thank them all the same!If you ever find yourself in Menomonie, WI and you need an auto mechanic, I recommend J & L. In fact, please see the guys at J & L--Id appreciate your throwing a bit of much-deserved business their way!

Reasonably priced, respectful, and punctual!

Traveling from Eau Claire to Woodbury on HWY 94 last week, I heard a loose gravel sound in my engine and given that I needed gas I decided to get off on the Menomonie exit. I pulled into a gas station where I discovered that the noise was my engine belt shredding! Seeing that is was an extremely hot day and having a car full of kids I decided to drive a few blocks to the closest auto repair shop which happened to be J & L auto repair. I was prepared for the worse and expecting the whole ordeal to be very expensive and time consuming but I was VERY lucky to come across this wonderful auto repair shop!! I couldnt have been happier with the service that I received from Bob at J & L auto repair.... Not only was it a affordable fixed, the entire repair only took about 45 minutes and we were back on the highway in less than an hour! I would highly recommend J & L Auto Repair!!
