We had our wedding in May and chose JD Ballantines after my sister had such a good experience. I loved how everything turned out!The flowers were so well balanced and were perfect for our event. Kevin was so great at keeping in contact with us and meeting with us to come up with what we are looking for.

We chose JD Ballantine for the flowers at our September 25th wedding. What an absolutely wonderful experience we had from the very beginning. Kevin was so accommodating to my family members during our consultation meetings and I could tell that it is not just a business but a passion. I had a very specific vision of what I wanted and he nailed it!Everything was delivered to the venue before I even arrived and it looked breathtakingly beautiful. I can honestly say that working with JD Ballantine was a calming and peaceful experience in the midst of all of the hustle bustle. My flowers were one of my most favorite things about my wedding day!If that isnt enough, I had so many of my guests complimenting the flowers and alter arrangements. I was repeatedly asked who my florist was. Many even stated that they now plan to use JD Ballantine for all of their flower needs.

I researched a lot of local retailers for gift basket options for delivery in the Lake County area. JD’s had the best selection, best competitive prices and a great delivery tracking system; I was ordering from Canada and needed to know the gift basket was on its way to family in Willoughby. Pretty disappointing experience. I ordered a dozen roses (a pretty basic order) for my wife to be delivered to our house on our anniversary. The roses arrived. However, not only did some of them look as if they were starting to wilt, but one of the stems was broken. This says to me that either the shop sent it out with a broken stem or the delivery person broke it during the delivery process. I called to complain and they said theyd send out a new arrangement and that I should leave the first arrangement out where they delivered it (i.e. the front door). This was acceptable to me. However, the replacement hasnt arrived yet. In the meantime my wife, going for the mail, came upon the first arrangement and I was left to explain. It kinda dampened the moment. Maybe my expectations are too high, but, my experience with this establishment - especially on such a simple order - leads me to think it will be my last experience with them.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about J.D Ballantine’s. Not only did they take the breath away from the guests at my wedding with the most beautiful flower arrangements that they have ever seen, but they also proved to be not only talented but supportive to myself in many other ways!

I placed a last minute order for an arrangement for a funeral. I had a specific request and they worked with me to make it perfect. Would highly recommend!

The flowers I ordered through 1800Flowers used this florist as their service provider. My order of $90 was placed on 7/25 to be delivered 7/28. I received a confirmation email stating the arrangement was delivered. Yea… to someone else. No compensation, no apology from Jd Ballantine. Never again!

I ordered an arrangement for my Grandmas funeral. I so very muchappreciated the kind and caring nature of the woman who took my order. The arrangement that arrived to the funeral home was on and beyond my expectations. The picture I saw of what I was ordering was lovely, what arrived was stunning. They said there were a couple flowers that they didnt have in stock so they would need to make substitutions. Ive been burned by the substitutions rule from other florists before, so I was hesitant. (I once had a florist that substituted carnations for roses!) This meant a lot to me and I was worried about what they would find acceptable vs what I would find acceptable. What the J.D. florist substituted made the arrangement breathtaking. It was easily worth twice what I was charged. I will never shop with another florist. They have earned a customer for life.

Had a lovely gift basket sent for a family member on their birthday. I live in Scotland and it makes things a little more difficult to arrange these sort of gifts. Ballantines made it as easy as it gets to have a gift delivered overseas. Will definately use again in the future!

Was disappointed with the color and fullness of what was actually sent versus the picture displayed on their website of a very full and colorful hanging basket. Considering the time of year and variety of colorful blooms I find the 4th of July sparse firework effect lackluster at best and this is the PREMIUM BASKET?!

It is great to deal with a local florist an not an online site where you dont know who will deliver the flowers you ordered. A definite plus is that there is no delivery charge where other sites charged 10 or more dollars. I would return to this site if I need more floral deliveries in the Mentor area.

I was attempting to inquire on prices and options on flowers for a wedding but due to the poor, AND unprofessional manner via email I will be gladly to take my business elsewhere. I live 6 hours away and my husband is military and Im unable to make an appointment which I expressed and no one reached back out to me after that, I then had to inquire once again if this is something that would be able to be accommodated and I received a very rude AND unprofessional email. I would highly suggest on finding new employees who care about obtaining new potential business.

I just had them do my fathers a few weeks ago. There last at the counter took her time and was very kind. She helped show different examples so I was sure it was right. All seven arrangements were exactly what I had pictured. There was a mistake with the wording on one ribbon. Within 5 minutes of calling them, they were already at the funeral home with a replacement. Great quality and consumer service. I highly recommend them.

It was disappointing as two of the bouquets ordered were picked because they had Gerber daisies in them and I told the salesperson those were a favorite of my moms and thats why I chose those bouquets. However there were no Gerber daisies in the arrangements. They were replaced by carnations. The flowers looked lovely but I feel I should have got the flowers I ordered in person. They had a weeks time to fill this order. I thought Id found a new florist I feel very disappointed in their service.

I guess they can count me as a return customer. The cut flower I purchased previously lasted quite a while. The staff was more friendly today too! :) Nice neighborhood florist.:)

I have order flowers from J.D. Ballantines a few times a year. The flowers are always beautiful and they do same day delivery!

Web site was easy to use. Prompt delivery and flowers were beautiful and closely matched on-line photo.

Ordered balloons for my husbands birthday; when my husband opened the bag inside, one balloon was completely deflated. Had to cut this off the bouquet. Called the florist, and was told I would be contacted the next day by the manager. Less than one day later, the entire balloon bouquet was deflated, including the five remaining latex balloons, and the two Mylar balloons. Paid $40.00 with delivery. Called the next day to speak to the manager, as he did not return my call as I was told he would; when I called he became very defensive, and started saying you can Google this and Google that, and call this number about the balloons themselves. I told him I am not going to Google anything; I want a credit or some sort of refund for a defective and overpriced product; no response from the manager, just more of: you can Google this and that. He was quite rude on the phone, raising his voice several times to me, and did not offer any type of refund. You just lost my business permanently J.D. Ballantines, and earned yourself a bad review to be displayed publicly on the web.

Got a $70 boutique of pretty flowers that wilted in three days or less. Took it back and was blamed for the wilting. They did replace the boutique, but used inexpensive flowers and fewer roses and lilies, my favorite part or the original boutique. Will never go back. What a ripoff!

My dad told me he got me flowers to be delivered on mothers day. They were never delivered so he told me to expect them on Monday the next day. They came Monday in the afternoon and they brought 2 bouquets. They said they brought a 2nd one as an apology for them being delivered late. I thought that was pretty nice of them. Then later that evening someone came back and said they needed to take both bouquets back because the order had been canceled. I am still so shocked they actually came all the way back to my house to take back what they delivered.. Even the delivery guy knew something wasnt right but he was just the messenger and even showed us the email instructing him to come back. I talked to my dad and he said he never cancelled anything and had no idea what was wrong with them. Im not sure if the company got screwed up somewhere or misunderstood something, but how can you SERIOUSLY come back to my house and take flowers away, even if the order had been cancelled. You already dropped them off. Youd think they would just let it go. Who are they going to give those to now anyways? My dad sent them for my 2st mothers day as a mom, and also because my own mom passed away not long ago. It was so nice to be surprised by beautiful flowers, but I am shocked that they came and took them away. What a horrible company.

My husband sent me flowers and I came home to a wilted mess. I called to alert the shop and the customer service was awful. They required me giving them back the arrangement to get new ones and wanted to come while I was putting my infant daughter to sleep. You would think that they would be apologetic instead of giving me inconvenient demands to resolve the problem. I wanted to resolve this without bothering my husband who sent the flowers but instead I will be forced to hurt his feelings so that he can seek a refund. Very disappointing on all fronts.

J.D. Ballantines has the absolute worst customer service ever! I work at a florist in Northern VA. We had a customer that came to our shop and wanted to send flowers to a friend in a city near J.D.s. Because my customer was looking for a specific type of flower, we called ahead and gave the name of the arrangement and the type of flower to one of the shops employees. They assured us that they would be able to complete the order as pictured. We then sent the order to them. Our customer paid and left the shop. One week later our customer comes back to our shop, upset because she says she received a thank you note from her friend thanking her for the lovely roses. The flower that we asked the shop to send was all hyacinth and no roses. Hyacinth was not delivered. I then called J.D.s florist again, while my customer was present to see why they had used a different type of flower, and not delivered what we specifically requested. Kevin the owner, informed me that they delivered a different type of flower because the flower that we requested, doesnt last long, so they dont even carry it in their shop, which is completely different from what they told us the first time we called. He then continued to yell at me and said hed go and pick up the f****** arrangement, and that he didnt care. He proceeded to hang up on me. Later that night, when I asked the shop to refund the amount of the arrangement back to our shop, for failure to complete it as specified, they denied the request. This is not a good florist. They are very unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is another great shop near by, who has since delivered our customers arrangement, and did a phenomenal job. Stay away from this shop by all means.
