We had a great experience with Closets By Design. The design process was easy and they worked with us to get our ideal space. The lead time was reasonable as well as a good range of finishes and materials. The removal of the old cabinets and installation was smooth and they finished in a timely manner. We are overall very pleased with the finished product.

I highly recommend Closets by Design Milwaukee. I really didn’t have a strong idea of what I wanted, but desperately needed an efficient system in our master walk-in and large guest room closets. Carrie D. (Designer) did an excellent job designing a very functional system for both closets. The installation team did an excellent job. They were very detailed in their work and didn’t leave any mess behind. Communication was consistent and timely throughout the process. The materials are very high quality. I am extremely pleased with how they both turned out.

Folks at Closets by Design made the addition of storage area not only easy but they customized it to fit my storage needs making the shelves wider on cabinets to fit the more bulky items on them. The installation was painless and quick i hardly knew they were in the house. Great Job guys!

We were more than impressed with Closets By Design, and the attention to detail and service Doug and his team gave. Doug came out in April and designed our closet and mudroom lockers, providing his expertise and insights that we werent even thinking of. We had 3 closets done by Closets by Design a couple years ago, and custom drawers that were built into an alcove. Recently we had our new master bedroom closet done and we are absolutely loving it. We love everything they have done. And if you do not like it, they make it right so you love it. Doug is amazing and just the nicest guy. I highly recommend them!!

After having interviewed a few closet companies for a master closet makeover, I was happy to choose Closets by Design. I was hoping to have the install completed as a surprise before my husband returned from a month long trip. Everyone I encountered with the company was fabulous, Shannon in the office and Doug as well as the install team went out of their way to insure the install was completed before my husbands return.Shon the designer was fabulous to work with! She was punctual and professional. She made me feel very comfortable asking questions about their products and finishes while keeping our budget in mind. Shon really took the time to explore options reworking the design a few times to maximize storage space and visual appeal. Honestly it felt like I was brainstorming with a long time friend.The install was smooth and worry free. They arrived on time, removed the existing wire and installed the closet in just a few hours. They were personable and did a wonderful clean up before leaving. The finished result exceeded my expectations. My husband was stunned at the difference and is very happy to have dedicated organized space for all of our items. He has mentioned several time how much he likes the new closet.I plan to contact Closets by Design again for additional closets and hopefully my kitchen pantry.

My experience with Closets By Design was fabulous from beginning to end. I had 3 bedroom closets designed and installed. Lucy who came out to design the closets was great! So professional, smart and sweet. Today I had a 2 man team come to install the closets. They were also great!!!! The closets are even better than I anticipated. The team, Max and Patrick did a fantastic job. Three closets completed and it didn’t even take all day. Both men are obviously skilled. They were meticulous, professional, focused and didn’t even take a lunch. They made sure I was completely satisfied and before they left, cleaned everything up. Thank you Lucy, Max and Patrick! The finished product is wonderful!!

This was a very positive experience from the designer to the installation crew. The product is well constructed, the installation was on time and they were very clean and polite. I will use them again.

The representative was professional and great ideas for us based on our closet shape and needs. The installer was so professional and thankfully he liked dogs. My dogs felt he needed assistance off and on with the install and he was so great with them. My husband and I love our closet now. It is much more efficient and I have more space for clothes!

Great experience with this company from meeting with Kyra to design and provide an estimate to Tom doing a great job installing the cabinets. I love how they look and the functionality they provide.UPDATE: While I really was impressed with the sales and installation part of this, I have been trying since July to get a repair completed on the facing that came loose on this closet installation. I cannot tell you how many times I have called to no avail. This is poorest customer service I have ever received. I am so disappointed and dont know where to turn next.

Her attention to detail and upbeat personality made designing our closets and mud room a lot of fun!Our install went smooth and timely. We received reminder calls with the time and date to expect our installers. Our installers; Chris, Max and Tom arrived right on time, inspected the sights where they were installing and started right to work. The guys were so professional, tidy and fun to have in my home. I loved working with Closets by Design. I wish there was a 10 star option. They managed to meet my dream closets and my budget! They went above and beyond and did even more then expected. Way, way, way better product and price then the one recommended by our architect and builder. I could not be more pleased. They built our master closet and mudroom/pantry and their design was so functional and well laid out.As a side note, Im a volunteer for Make-A-Wish and I found this company because they donated a bedroom makeover for a childs wish in Milwaukee. I bring this up because not only is their product and service exceptional - they are just really good people too!

We added a cabinet with a hanging rack in our laundry room !that is so beyond our expectations. We also had a closet turned into a pantry that had doubled the space in our kitchen. We also redid a closet in our office to store my husband’s guitars and our volunteer records and paperwork. The only question we had was why did we wait so long! Great company!We recommend them highly!!!!!

Outstanding customer service! My husband and I hired Closets By Design (Mequon) Milwaukee to install a walk-in closet system including cabinetry with drawers, shoe racks, hanging racks. I would not hesitate to do it again (we had other quotes). We are very particular whom we choose to spend our hard earned dollars with. We expect fairness and transparency from a company (nothing broken, no price changes, quality install i.e. clean up when done and do not damage anything in my home). When all was said and done, these guys EXCEEDED our expectations! The owner is honest and wants happy customers. Writing this 5 star review is the least I can do to thank them. Very happy with my experience. My designer, Sandy, came out multiple times to make sure the design was just right. Was very accommodating and super helpful in my challenging closet footprint and space. The owner even came out to help with the atypical space and came up with the best way to optimize my space. The installer made sure it was right and it looks great in the end!

I had a master bedroom closet completed. Installers arrived on time and installed the closet. I was met with complete disappointment as every shelf, piece of wood, to include every vertical and horizontal board having some kind of defect or chip. Some of the larger defects were covered with a wall joint compound to hide the problem.When I questioned the installer about the numerous defects, he was allegedly told by his supervisor to take the defective product to my residence anyways.When I reached-out to my designer I was told the owner would call me on Saturday or Monday. I was assured they would make the necessary repairs. I finally received a call on Wednesday from the owner.The owner informed me that they would repair or replace the damaged wood. The thought of repairing the wood with more wall joint compound concerned me.I had already taken one vacation day from work and was required to put half down before the job started.I choose to no longer waste my time with excuses, repairing a new product, and pointing fingers at others for the poor quality. In fairness, the owner provided an additional discount which I declined to take. In my mind I was not willing to pay additional money due to the inconvenience and time I wasted.The designer and office gal I spoke to on the phone were very kind and professional, but that unfortunately does not help my master closet product or my time.

Everything done to exact specifications. Melissa was a pleasure to deal with and helped maximize our closet function. Very relaxed sale with no pressure and great suggestions. Chris did excellent install and corrected small imperfection with one shelf very quickly even though full payment had already been made.

From the first time I talked to Kyra she understood what I was looking for. She designed the perfect solution for my walk-in closet. When it came time for the installation I got a call the night before letting me know when to expect the installer. He came a little early but that was okay. He went about installing my closet system, asking questions about the design to make sure it was right and when he had to explained why he had to change the design slightly it was very clear and concise. I love my new closet system. The material looks really sturdy so I feel that it will last a long time. A big plus is that I have a lot more useable space in my closet.

In December of 2019, Closets by Design fully finished 2 master bedroom his & her closets and a walk-in pantry in our newly constructed home in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The final product is not only beautiful, but highly functional. Doug was able to design storage space for us that provided more efficient and functional use in smaller spaces than what he had in our previous home, which was extremely impressive. A key factor in choosing Closets by Design was their ability to provide custom size shelving for the pantry, which none of the other area or online vendors with whom we consulted could do. Doug and his team are very experienced professionals who are highly skilled with design and installation, as well as being experts with their own product line. The variety of different looks and finishes for the closets was vast, and they were able to easily match one of their options to the existing trim and floor in the master suite. Their willingness to travel a significant distance to my home was important to us, and we are nothing short of ecstatic with their professionalism, customer service, and quality of craftsmanship. Highly recommend.

Excellent service! We are extremely happy with our new closet shelves, which we got after the cheap, old wire racks fell off the wall (probably due to the previous owners poor install). Everyone we worked with, from when we called the office, to the owner who came to our house to measure / design the space and give us a quote, to the carpenter who put it all in, did a fantastic job. Extremely easy to work with and they were great at communicating if there was a change in plans or a reschedule (they asked if they could come early due to a cancelation). Everyone was on time for all appointments. I could tell they respected our time as well and made sure none of it was wasted.It was priced very fairly as far as custom closets go, but we think quality is much better than other companies. It was a bit expensive (meaning it would have been cheaper if we had done it ourselves - but thats true for every home improvement) but there is no way we could have done as good of a job. They were extremely professional and 100% worth it!The closet is very sturdy (built from the floor up and not screwed into the drywall), and we have so much more storage space now that its utilized well. We could fit all the contents of our original wire shelf closet, plus another entire wardrobe, and we still have space left! When we get the money we would absolutely hire them again for another closet, work bench, garage, etc.

Installation of our walk in closet looks great. However, the job was not completed on time. The job was scheduled 3 months prior due to Covid. The first installers only had half of the materials and had to schedule to finish about 2 weeks later. You don’t show up to a job with half of the materials and no advance warning to the purchasers. That’s unprofessional. They finally came back and completed the rest of the work. My advice is for them to be firm on installs with materials and maintain communication if something is beyond their control. The install center doesn’t communicate well. The schedulers do but were blind-sided when they didn’t know the full job was done. It’s a business operational issue.

Doug came out in March to design my closet, laundry and pantry areas and came up with ideas I would never have thought of. My spaces literally doubled! Thanks Doug!! From start to finish, the timeline on getting everything designed and installed was super fast. Chris and Jacob were professional, personable and did good quality work that I know I wouldnt have gotten anywhere else. So glad I went with Closets by Design!! Well worth the cost!

They transformed a double closet that was somewhat functionable to a closet that not only looks fantastic but works a lot better. People who see it agree that it looks great.

Our closets are beautiful. The design and the shelving fit our needs. Our salesperson was excellent and the owner very quickly and reasonably resolved a small issue we had with the installation. In fact our salesperson fixed the concern the very same day. We would recommend the company and would do business with them again.

Closet by Design did a superior job! The consultant Carrie was amazing. I loved that she was not pushy or try to talk me into something I could not afford. Great sense of humor as well! We had a good time and her advice was much appreciated. The installation was quick and went well! I definitely will be calling them for my next project!

We are extremely pleased with the work done by closets by design. They helped us out with 4 closets and were done in a very timely and efficient manner. We had plans made and then the day they came over to start the job, I realized that I wanted to change one of the things in the closet and they were very gracious about it and changed it at the last minute. Vick went above and beyond what he was supposed to do. Doug is always reachable and very prompt. We are starting another project with them since we liked them so much.

This was my 2nd time using CBD for organizing my condo. I love that they design the best use of the space (as imagining the potential look is not my strong area) but in both cases I did not get exactly what I was hoping for due to selection limitations. Both experiences did enhance the space but wasnt my exact vision. I would use them again but be more clear about my exact thoughts and possibly turn them down if they cant deliver the look I need. Some items such as cabinet hardware seemed overpriced and because I didnt use their service for those items, they sent pre-drilled drawers which limited the choices of hardware I can use. Thats not the end of the world but it was an inconvenience.

I had numerous cabinets installed in my basement. The guys who came out were polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. The cost of the cabinets was less than half the estimate I received from California Closets. I was very satisfied and would certainly use Closets by Design again.

I had the pleasure of working with Shon in Mequon and was more than happy from start to finish. I sent an inquiry online and she was prompt to respond. We scheduled a time for her to come to my home for measurements and to create designs. I had 4 closets completely redone upstairs and my utility closet downstairs. She was professional and paid very close attention to every detail I asked. I was highly impressed and will continue to call her with any organizational needs in my home.
