Ive only written one other review in my life, but with the customer service I received from Mountains Plus Outdoor Gear I just had to give some feedback. I had linked over to this company based on an add I saw saying you got a free footprint with all their tents. I had my eye on a Big Agnes tent for months and finally decided to pull the trigger. Well, turns out the particular tent I purchased did not come with that footprint. I wanted to cancel my order because I was able to find the tent and footprint on another site for $200 less. Instead, I showed them the link and they price matched it! The shipping went out the same day and I had my tent in less than a week. The people at Mountain Plus are simply amazing. Answered all of my questions, super friendly, and went out of their way to help me out. Great company, great people, AMAZING customer service!!! Cant recommend them enough!

These guys are the worst business I have ever dealt with in my life. I ordered an tent + footprint from them, which claimed it was In Stock and they called me back and told me it would take a few weeks. I am patient and understanding so I said that would be fine. Now 3 months after reassuring me 4 times when I have called inquiring where my tent is they tell me they can sell me the tent without the footprint for the same price as I had purchased their advertised price of tent+footprint.I purchased this tent in the dead of winter when there were many good deals around and now its camping season and prices are at a premium. They totally SCREWED ME OVER. I spent a lot of time searching for the right tent at the right price and now I have to start all over. These people are a joke and they should go out of business. If you find a low price on their site good luck actually trying to get them to honor it. If they say its in stock, it is not. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!.

Ordered a Yakima bike rack and needed it for a trip in 3 weeks. Live in Washington, D.C.Called them after I ordered and they arranged to ship it that day at a great price.Received in a week.Great service and price.

I ordered a couple mountain bike tires on 2/23/15. The price was very competitive and shipping was free. I paid with paypal credit. As of 3/6/15 I havent received anything (I live in AZ). I called and inquired, and the rep said they were still waiting for their shipment. He estimated another week or two before the tires arrived to the store. The tires were listed as in stock. Im not thrilled about this experience. Im a bit shocked nothing was communicated, as if the presumption was that I didnt mind missing the one nice month of spring riding in Arizona. I cancelled the order, had paypal charge the money back, and will try somewhere else.Im not shopping at this store online again. I rated 2 stars because at least the staff was pleasant.

Purchased MSR snowshoe bag in March 15 - excellent price and GREAT service. No complaints at all.

Mountains Plus is a fantastic place to do internet/mail order thru. I ordered an item that was on backorder (Big Agnes Double.) I had two pro-active emails from Mountains Plus keeping me in the loop with approximate shipping dates and that if I needed to cancel or expedite shipping they would assist. I will definitely do business with these folks again and I live in PA.

I ordered some mountain bike tires at the end of February, and never received any communication aside from an order confirmation. I called later in the week and they said the tires were backordered. I wouldnt have bought them if I knew they were backordered, but I decided to wait since it was a good deal. Finally, at the beginning of April (6 weeks later), I called and cancelled the order. The whole time, I never received any communication or updates regarding the order. The customer service people were nice when I called, but the practices of this company are deceptive.

Placed an order on 10/18/12, got charged on the same day..never received anything..they kept changing their expected date of delivery every week.. finally in December I called my credit card company and filed a dispute..one thing i dont understand is..if you dont have something in stock, take as many pre-orders as you want..but whey the hell do you charge the card? if you never shipped anything!it would make sense to charge the card, when u actually ship something!!
