I worked there back in the 90s, which looking back, seemed to be when the mall peaked as far as having stores that actually were major players in the retail industry! Now, its a mere shadow/shell of its former self. Ghost town would be a good way to describe it. Hoping the new owner has a hail mary left in its arsenal and figures out a plan to lease all the empty store fronts? Unfortunately, without 4 major anchors, filling the mall with major retailers will continue to be an uphill battle.
Went to Shoe Dept. Associates were very helpful . The shoe selection is very good and so are the prices.
Wow! Malls are dying off quietly in Connecticut. Best Buy is a large anchor to be closing on 10/30/2021.
Its a shame that the mall is being run down, its now just an echo of its glory days. Theres not many relevant stores there anymore and the atmosphere is dying. Live events that would once bring people to this community center seldom exist. Stages for music and other things to bring tourist to that location rarely happen. This mall has rarely any traffic even on black Friday, its empty. With the disappearance of Ulta, there isnt any store dedicated to cosmetology which is a good amount of the previous traffic in the mall. Additionally the food court lost McDonalds and a a few other areas of revenue. With numerous shops closing down with the lack of new stores circulating in to stay up with shopping trends its only inevitable to what lies ahead. This location has gone down and will continue its descent to being shut down until things change.
My daughters favorite place (aside from Hot Topic) to go to is The Gentle Jungle. She loves looking at all the animals.
Not much left of the Meriden Mall, especially the Food Court...only 2 restaurants open. A few stores keeping them alive.
This place doesnt have many stores open. Food court about 25% of restaurants
They close at 8:30 not the best mall. But, I found Boscov’s
This mall is Usually very active and has a fair amount of customers in it on a daily basis. I always love going to eat at the food court when I am there and and any time I have ever use the restrooms they have been incredibly clean. There are many stores here that I just simply love to go shopping in.
This mall use to be very good a few years back, once I returned to Connecticut it is dying. Very clean and nice place for mall shopping but everything is closing and losing customers.
Its the mall so dont expect more than that. Theres a few good stores and theres some that shouldnt be there.
Literally have never been to this mall but had to return something and goggle led me here. Seriously it is huge. I was surprised at how many stores that I shop at is all in one place. We found everything we were looking for. Pleasantly surprised. I liked the layout and even the food Court.
Very sad to see this lose many of their anchor retail stores. However it is worth checking out to support the smaller businesses. The major retail store available is Boscov, Old Navy, and TJ- Maxx retail store.
Still a very clean environment and easy access. Glad to see the variety of stores for shopping.
Its showing its age. Major anchor stores gone. Macys, Sears many smaller retailers also. Sears Automotive bldg empty. New owners need figure out what doing with place. Boscovs is the gem there.
Very clean! Polite and knowledgeable employees, especially in TJ Maxx. A wonderful shopping experience and plenty of parking
The mall has a large variety of stores. It is always clean. I enjoy my visit whenever I come here.
Sad to see all the empty stores. Probably not the malls fault but sad.
The Meriden shopping mall has been slowly dying for years. Many stores have come in gone in the last decade, some of them with some pretty cool stuff but none last, either from high lease rates or being just a little too niche for the typical shoppers to understand/want.
Went to Best Buy for a laptop for My Husband. Salesman explained everything to the T. We purchased it.
Not much to do at this mall anymore! So many of the store fronts are vacant. Its sad! I cant believe how many stores have closed. Definitely not worth the 30 min trip it took to get there. Find another mall imo!!
I think all malls are going thru a transition. Will they survive? Another group bought the mall and I guess we will wait and see. How for the best and good luck.
It great to see people in the mall again. I went to Dragon Novelties on the upper level near hot topic. A great new anime store!!!!
Great place and employees, 2 of them helped me load my kayak
Nearly empty, most of the stores are closed. The air-conditioning either wasnt working or the owner dont see the point in wasting money to turn it on. A few stores had portable units to cool them.
Most of the stores in this mall are filled unlike some malls with many vacant stores. The major retailers include Boscov’s, TJ Maxx, Best Buy, and Macy’s. There is a food court with several Asian restaurants, no chain burger joint though. The main restaurant is Ruby Tuesday’s.The mall has a nice play area for kids with some rides on the side. At Christmas there are visits with Santa. It’s also very well decorated for the holidays. You can tell someone put in a lot of effort to decorate.Overall, the mall appears cared for with some signs of wear and tear. The elevator shows signs of wear. The bathrooms are ok, not sparkling but definitely cleaned more than once a day. The building is from the 1970’s with architecture fitting the era.
I needed some things at Boscovs, happy to have found them :)
It’s a little empty but a nice mall overall
Honestly, I rate malls based on their food court 👀. But yea, the food court, the food looks like it’s been sitting all day. So you either have Subway, Charley’s Philly Steaks or a lonely pizza shop in the corner to choose from. Besides that, mall is alright 🤷🏻♂️
Half the stores are closed. Workers at remaining stores say more businesses will be coming in soon. We will see. Food court almost empty. Quite depressing. Story I heard from more than one store was that mall is under new ownership who immediately raised the rent to all stores. Not a real bright move in the middle of a pandemic when most people are not leaving their houses unless absolutely necessary.
The staff was very pleasant, the Inn was very clean, the room was freshly clean, definitely will stay there again
Nice place with a good spread of stores. Its Nice and clean too. A little on the smaller side as far as malls go though
Had a few closed store plenty of room to improve but over all can’t complain
Stopped to look around. They need more xl fastions. I love linen clothing but never any selection
I love coming here, but lots of the stores are closing up. Otherwise it is a nice place to go
Great place I always find what I need
I understand covid took a toll on retailers, but this place has been on the decline long before covid happened. Its a shame too because this was easily the best mall in Connecticut in the mid 2000s. Nowadays if you come here youll be greeted to closed stores and a lack of dining variety thatll make you wish you went to a different mall.
I found what I was looking for plus much more. My friend Nereida Vasquez from Wethersfield Ct brought me there. Good experience!
Appeared to be very clean. And not crowed at all. Has large variety of stores. I enjoyed my time here
All large anchor stores are gone to the best of my knowledge. Very clean & not very crowded for a Saturday evening
Ok but not great
Covid is taking its toll on the businesses here but its still a beautiful place with lots of shopping options
Except for Boscovs there isnt many good stores left.
Nice, clean accesible, friendly
Nothing left in there, its a dieing mall.the big anchor stores sears and macy gone.only good store is boscoe
They have a good amount of stores open here. Sad to see some empty spaces though in lots of malls. I went to the Boost Mobile kiosk by Zales. The girl that worked there was great. The mall was clean. Bathroom was clean and you know every other sink or urinal open. Go support if you can. Hopefully its busier on the weekend.
Nice place to visit with the family
Like my second home best place
Masks required. Not a problem
I was very disappointed with this mall. A lot of closed stores, not many choices as far as places to shop. The atmosphere was definitely not uplifting.
Very clean mall and nice employees which they also have a place for dogs and it’s just the cutest thing, tho it sadness me since theirs so many dogs without a home
Love this mall unfortunately the pandemic has taken a toll on the major stores. Boscovs and TJ Maxx are the best.
A lot of stores moved out or closed down.. still like the sneaker store thought..
Weekdays not crowded, I liked the food court, tasty food.
Bought some nice dresses for the girls, they got their nails done, I people watched, successful trip.
Very fast service
Dying industry. I feel bad for it. Still good looking place.
It was sad to see so many shops closed! But we enjoyed shopping at the ones that were open, eating at Charlies steakery, and ending it with a treat from pralines!
Based on my one time there a week or two ago..I was surprised this mall had so many stores i wanted to go to under one roof-h&m, Victoria secret, old navy...I feel like this mall has been kept a secret. Ive been going all the way to Danbury or West Farms mall....in future im going to come here. Not very crowded, even on a Saturday, quiet. I wouldnt say it was the cleanest mall ive ever been to, a little grungy so it loses a star for that.
Theres not a lot here to do. A dave and buster would be a good attraction.
This used to be a good mall. Now, its a shell of its former self. Spent 26 years working there, so I remember the busy days.
So Sad grew up in Meriden and sad to see hardly no stores left, hope the ones that are there stay!!!!
Always fun visiting Meriden Mall...It is lots of good stores that sells great items...clothes,bags,shoes etc....
The fact that all the big box stores have packed up and left this place, its still awesome.
The mall is losing anchor stores. Its a sad state of affairs. I visit Best Buy and i would rate the store a 5.
Very annoying to have teenagers running around acting crazy
Love the Shoe factory( Dept)lots of designer sneakers and shoes for men and woman.
Love walking around all the Department stores
Everything is out of business and really is a reflection of the times
Shame that this place is slowly closing down. More closed stores than there were open ones. The new management needs to bring Lego world or rain forest Cafe in to draw the kids. Kids are accompanied by adults and adults spend money.
Very niceI love this Mall🥰
First time back in a year not bad
Sadly, this store wont be running much longer, heard that most people there have jobs at other Stop and Shops now. I did find everything I needed at decent prices. Best of luck with the new stores you get to after the west side closes. RIP Centennial S&S.
Great time shopping for hoodies and jeans, also some great locations for pictures and video !!
It was an ok experience and the food court left MUCH to be desired! There were only like 4 or 5 options.
Lots of shopping and a good food court
It was different from most malls but I was able to find and purchase what I was looking for and I got a great deal.
One of my favorite malls not as crowded as the others but I miss a lot of the stores that have closed
The haunted mansion of the twentieth century. Not worth the time
This mall is clean, organized and people friendly. there are several socially distanced lounges with charging stations to sit in, the mall itself has tons of clean restrooms, nursing mom rooms, family lounges, alternate bathrooms. my favorite part was the childrens hand-painted tiles lining the hallway of the 2nd floor bathroom near the toy department at Boscovs. Its like a mini art gallery and a delight to see.
There is limited shopping here. Many of the stores fronts are vacant.
Alot of vacant spaces, certainly didnt feel like a Mall, and 11a is too late to open for a weekday 🤷🏽♀️
Pretty good place to shopping 🛍☺& take a walk around the building!🤣🤣👍👏🤗🤭.
Great mall, Finish Line worst place to spend your money, customer service at its worst, none existed. Ignore you especially if your hair and eye color is different than theres.
Love it here. Not a really big mall but it has a good variety of stores. Clean food court. I just hate that its closing most of the stores I shop at. But...I get my nails done at Diva nails! Love it in there. Check it out! You wont be disappointed!
This mall is slowly losing stores, so rest assure every store manager in the building wants your business. You will get customer service that exceeds expectations, due to the overall foot traffic being down. Mall management does a great job of finding new businesses to try to impact the community and food shops that are unique and not common throught town. Definetly will be back!
I was pretty much raised in the Meriden Mall love this place quiet civilize people and for the most part every store or one store has what you need or looking for
Did some Christmas shopping. Good discounts. Had some lunch chicken + steak & cheese. Relaxing atmosphere 😌
Theres no stores...alot of them left
Not much left but what they do have is ok
Meriden mall has fye and spencers and boscovs thats it besides that yall really run down meriden mall yall can do better
Has a nice area for kids to play and nice variety of stores.
Granddaughter and I found what we were looking for
Going out of business.
15 years ago this place had some good stores. Now, the majority of store fronts are empty. This place will be on a dead mall list, if it isnt already
