As I was traveling across the country to visit the world renowned town of Tuscumbia (birthplace of the marvelous Helen Keller), I made an unexpected stop at this lovely, quaint convenience store for my cross-country snacking needs. Paradise Food Mart had plenty of seltzer for me to chug-ggin down for my proper rehydration and I especially enjoyed the extensive selection of snacks with rippin share sealable packaging (perfect when snacking in the vehicle since the M&Ms wont spill all over the car floor when making a last-minute, sharp turn). On the day I was a patron at the Paradise Food Mart, a young and enthusiastic boy helped me complete my transaction at the register, albeit after a rocky start. After numerous attempts at creating small talk, I believed there was a language barrier preventing any dialog from taking place as he stared blankly into my eyes, unresponsive to my questions on the recent weather and local landmarks. As I turned to leave the establishment, he snapped to and ensured to me that he simply did not hear me at that moment as his mind was preoccupied with other events transpiring within the store. As the young lad was scanning my goods, I made mention of my itinerary and became confounded when he revealed to me that he was unaware of who Helen Keller was, especially considering her birthplace was a mere 200 miles North. A growing feeling of disquietness had also penetrated my sanity as the youngster frequently made reference to the movie, Borat, and other Sacha Baron Cohen films.Overall, my experience at Paradise Food Mart was pleasant, and my only criticism was for the lack of boiled peanuts. Would stop at again next time Im in the area.
Great Place!
