A great store with a great selection of games, dice, and D&D items. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic and close to several other businesses with easy parking, making it easy to pop in and pick up more games! This could be dangerous. Ill definitely be back!

Nexus of Knowledgeable Nerds:I am big on supporting local businesses, primarily because these places are usually friendly, knowledgeable, and the employees give a care more often than not.Phoenix Fire Games certainly achieves all those roles. When purchasing an item, it may be more expensive than buying off of Amazon. That premium though is worth it overall as the money spent there stays in the community and helps keep local businesses thriving. An important thing especially during these uncertain and perilous times.If looking for a game or miniature, please consider at least visiting Phoenix Fire.P.S. if you will notice, any complaints about the smells are from 1+ years ago. Having visited multiple game stores over the years, there is the chance for a pungent aroma to develop. Phoenix Fire does do their best to combat it.

My wife and I enjoy boardgames, card games, dice games, and everything in-between. We are likely more aficionados than some but much less hardcore than others. If you are looking for knowledgeable and friendly staff who are willing to take the time to discuss different games and help guide you to new favorites then you are going to be impressed by Phoenix Games. We spent over an hour perusing their exhaustive selection of games looking for a birthday present for our son, an emerging gaming aficionado himself. The staff made recommendations and spent time with us to explain and ultimately select a fantastic choice that he was really excited about. All that said, we looked online and could have saved a couple of dollars (literally only a couple), but we felt that time spent by the staff to explain gameplay which ultimately helped us decide, joint with supporting a local business was well worth the couple of dollars.If you are looking for Pokemon cards they have packs for $2. If you are a role playing enthusiast they have figures and paint to customize and individualize your characters.In summary, this store is fantastic for games and has the knowledgeable staff to support the enthusiast or amateur gamer alike.

Nice, quiet place when I went. Had a good selection of table top games and minis for rgp setting. Was quite impressed with their used Magic The Gathering cards. I was able to make a whole black deck for less than $10. Also found the lavender card sleeves that were sold out everywhere else Id looked locally. Quite pleased.

D&D minis? Yes please! And they offer classes to teach you to paint them too! They do have other tabletop games which are only my kryptonite!

They always answer my questions about board games that would cater to my preferences. They also have board games to try out and rent in the back which is a super awesome thing most people may not know.

I love playing here! Tons of tables in the back so parties dont feel too crowded. Masks required so safety and the people are super nice. This is a great place for experienced gamers or people getting started :) they give great advice too!

Helpful staff and a good location, consistently one of the more overpriced game stores in the valley though, specifically with sealed MtG product. Everything always seems to be between $5 and $30 more expensive than the other stores around the Treasure Valley

I am very sad to have to put in this review, but I want to warn others of the expirience that I have had with the store.Two weeks ago I brought a large lot of Pokémon singles into the store for buyback. This included 900 rare, uncommon, and common cards, as well as some valuable cards from the Chillign Reign series. Upon entering the store, the woman working the counter was lovely and patient, but the man with a beard was dismissive and frustratingly unhelpful as we tried to understand what the value of my cards would be.I would like to note, there is no instore run-down of buy-back policy anywhere, no overview of card value, and the store doesnt have a buyback sheet to fill out that gives an understanding of the sale for both parties. Even the singles being sold in the cases dont display the price, they are instead unmarked and require the store associate to get a price.The gentleman with the beard stated that there would be no time that day to value my sale, as the Chilling Reign cards werent in his store system, and the bulk cards would take time to go through. I completely understand this, and did not mind a wait.However, I asked that it be marked down that I wanted to recieve a phone call before the sale went through, to understand what the value of my cards were to this store, and I very much wanted my collectable tin and Elite Trainer Box returned to me. This was marked on my boxes, and we left the store.What followed was a frustrating number of phone calls. I waited several days before I called to check on the sale. I was told they were extremely busy and had not gotten to them. This wasnt an issue to me, so I told them not to worry and they assured me I would receieve a call in the coming days.After another handful of days, I called again, and this time the store associate knew of the buyback, but said it couldnt be located. I was quite frustrated at this point, and worried because by now I could have sold them at Captain Comics or online for cash. He promised me it would be made a priority, and I reminded that I really wanted a call before the sale, and to recieve my storage boxes back.Today I called after hearing nothing and the associate who answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about the buyback. Anxious and concerned, I explained the situation, and he said that the store owner would be in within the hour, and I would recieve a phone call immediately.That call never came, so I packed up my son and went into the store. Upon arrival, I saw that my cards were in the sales display. I again was confortnted by the dismissive beareded associate who was flippant and seemed annoyed when I asked for my cards and an explination on where my boxes were. He had no idea where my cards were, no idea where my boxes were, and then pulled my account up where for my 900 singles and over a dozen full art cards, I had 40 dollars of in-store credit. A miserable amount compared to what I likely would have gotten had I sold them at another location.I asked for my boxes back, and he asked if they were really important. Confused, all I could say was yes they are collectable and one was a gift. He shrugged and said hed see if he could find them another time. I asked him about my 900 singles and he gave me a strange explination that the bulk cards are sifted through, and what they dont give you credit for, they take as a fee for the effort of going through them, something I wasnt made aware of when setting up the sale.I had no idea what to do, as I would have said no to the buy-back had I been called with the amount, but instead they sold my cards without ever having checked with me. Now I dont have my cards, my boxes, or a fair amount in trade to make up for it. Im so disheartened and frustrated, and I dont have any intention of doing business of any kind at this location in the future.In short, I dont expect Ill ever see my things again, and that is probably the worst part of it.--I never heard from the owner.

He helped me get exactly what I came in for plus more when I didnt have a clue as to what I was doing or anything of what I was asking for.... With being in sales for most of my life I am a stickler for good customer service! The gentleman working tonight was right by my side the entire time I was in the store happy to help me and very informative on everything I asked including on all the different board games I was asking about which is very uncommon anymore....sadly.... I don’t live in Idaho and have never been to this store in person, but I’ve ordered from them online and had a great experience! They went above and beyond to communicate the status of an order that ran into problems with the post office, and they worked hard to make sure I got my item as quickly as possible despite the irregularities.

Me and my friends love this place for d&d stuff! you might be able to find supplies for a couple dollars cheaper on a site like amazon but I love supporting a local place. Helpful staff. Havent been to an event but they have tables up for playing games in store.

Great selection of games. From casual to hardcore to family games to card games, if you want it chances are you can find it here. The owner is also super nice and very informed about his products so if youre trying to get a new game for game night or a gift for someone, he knows exactly which direction to point you in for the ones youll enjoy most.

Im pretty new to the area, bit this place is Awesome! A decent amount of games available for purchase. Lots of demo you can try. Lots of space for gaming. Staff was very friendly and personable. Theyve got tons of events going on all the time, including Magic, board games, and RPGs. Im pretty sure I saw a miniatures table too.

Of the different game stores Ive visited, this is one of the cleanest and best kept. The game selection seemed to be second to only Amazon itself. The prices were respectable. On each tag was the MSRP and the store discounted price. Whomever sets the store price seems to be aware that they are competing with the online stores for your dollar and prices things accordingly. If you are into (non-mainstream) board games and believe in local business, then this is THE place to hit the sweet spot of a better price and the immediate satisfaction of walking out of the store to go play your new game.

Been to a lot of board game stores. They are all pretty similar, what makes this one stand out is the manager there actually knows about the games and was able to give me good suggestions that were not just Ticket to Ride and Pandemic. I have nothing against those games but if I am in a store dedicated to board games I probably know about (if not own several version of) those two great games.

Prices are reasonable for a local hobby shop, but the customer service is next level excellent. Great gaming spaces as well.

This is the best tabletop game store in the valley, hands down. The most friendly and helpful staff (unless all about games has their best on staff when you visit) and competitive prices. They often get kickstarter games before others. From the obscure to the most popular, I can almost always find it here.

The reason I keep coming back is the staff—they’re friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Phoenix Fire has a good selection for purchase and to demo, as well as a large section of game tables to play at. Plus, if you’re after something older (say early expansion packs for the LOTR Living Card Game like I was) that’s not currently in stock, they’re happy to order it for you. This is the friendliest game store in the valley!I’m excited they just brought in Army Painter paints, primers, and inks, and they’ve expanded their selection of miniatures as well. Several of the staff paint, and they’ve been great about giving me advice as I’ve gotten started in this hobby.

This place is the best! The selection of games is broad, reasonably priced, and well curated. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. Buy games here!Im new to the world of tabletop gaming, and the folks here have been nothing but helpful in educating me about what is on offer. The first time I visited, with a friend of mine, Joe taught she and I how to play one of the many demonstration games they have on offer, and came to check on our progress regularly.The second time I visited I went in with curiosity about single player games, and again, was received with nothing other than excitement and a desire to show me what options are available, and in great detail too!Tonight I went in for the regular Wednesday night board gamp playing, and it was a blast! I met new people, played a (new to me game), and really just had a nice time with decent folk throughout the evening.

A good place to play games wth friends and buy packs but if you are looking to buy or sell singles cards dont come here, they buy cards from you far below the average price if the card and sell card at or higher than the average price it totally ripps off anyone buying or selling singles cards i epuld rate this place lower if i could, fairly abu games is close by and is much better, more attentive, and has a greater selection

Very friendly store with a nice diversity of games to choose from.I contacted the store in regards to exchanging an unopened extra copy of a game which they already sell. They were willing to take the game in exchange for store credit (and a small restocking fee) and I left the store with a brand new game! Great experience and I would recommend this location.

I really enjoy getting to visit this store. It is a little out of the way for me most days but when I get the opportunity to visit I always make a point of going in. They have a wide variety of board games, card games, RPG and table top miniature games. They sell individual cards for Magic: The Gathering as well. They have a cool rewards program and the owner is a really awesome guy! There is a large area with tables where you can play games as well. My kids and I both enjoy shopping at pheonix fire!

Good main hub for card playing in the treasure valley good resource for card playing games like Pokemon or Final fantasy you could find almost anything here for card games. Bad side is the stinky people that play here and the general bad odor going in there. Other then that the place is decent.
