Honest, friendly staff. They will check your tires and if you do not need new tires they will let you know too. Also, make an appointment when you do purchase tires, you will be glad you did and they are typically on time or quicker. Other local places dont come close to getting the work done or following your time. Years ago they needed some improvements, but now they are top notch!

Ive been coming here since we moved back to Indiana, but my last visit convinced me not to come back. I had ordered new tires and they called me to come in for installation. I came at the time they told me to. After waiting 20 minutes, one sales guy called me up and promptly passed me to another, who couldnt get his workstation running - and sent me to another, who claimed appointment or not, I would have to wait another half hour while they took care of people in front of me. I told them I could just leave the car, but he told me I still had to wait to get written up. I walked out. I guess as busy as they are they dont need a loyal customers business.

Had the tires I needed, only had to wait an hour to get them done because they were super busy. Went shopping for an hour and came back, got me in right away and didnt take long. Nice men that work there.

All my tires come from Discount on my last 3 Cars.Customer Service is excellent, products excellent.I have had my tires for awhile.They are very honest about their products.They will check your tires and give you straight up information.The quality of their tires are awesome .I suggest pay the extra fee and protect your tires,you will be thankful in the long run.They will check your tire pressure free.I have never received anything less than 5 star service.It is easy and best to make an appointment, because lets be honest as awesome as they are its a busy establishment.On the whole,I give it 5 Stars for products,customer services,cleanliness, and quality.Netcastnews-Kia🔥

I was in and out of this establishment within an hour. I called and asked if they had my tire and they got my phone number they text me when to come and it was very fast and convenient. The gentleMen inside were helpful and friendly. This place was very clean.

Stopped by to get a flat fixed and they got me right in and out in less than 60 minutes even though they were swamped and running 2 guys short that day Greatly appreciated, great bunch of hard working guys at this location. Great customer service!!!

I always get great service and great prices here. Ive been to many tire shops but these guys are great.Make a reservation and arrive as early in the morning as possible. They fill up fast... deservedly so. Its like chic filet, they are always busy because they treat you like you are their only customer.

No communication- called to get two tires replaced.Come on in at noon they say.... got there at 11:15.Lost a compressor?????! What, thats what they do? No back up. Place is a mismanaged joke.Two hours, no service, with a scheduled time.Avoid at all costs!

If you are willing to risk your life for a tire purchase I would recommend this store...My girlfriend purchased 4 tires and was headed back to the North side of Chicago when she heard a loud unrecognizable noise in the front of her vehicle...because she was a woman and so far from her destination she continued driving, hoping to make it home safely...This loud knocking noise freaked her out so she took her vehicle directly to her mechanic. Upon observation after a short text drive, he detected that the tires on the front of her vehicle were never tightened securely and noted how lucky she was to avoid a serious accident...Buyer Beware!!!

I had a flat tire and couldnt get a replacement for a couple of days. I contacted Discount and they were okay with me parking my vehicle in the lot until the tires came in. After putting on winter tires, I spoke with Omen and let him know I had planned to square my staggered wheels. I purchased new tires that I wasnt sure fit. During the initial inspection it appeared they fit, but after the warmed up they were definitely rubbing. I called Omen back and he was more than happy to help get me on the correct tires. The next day I had the new tires installed and everything has been going great. Definitely recommend taking your vehicle to Discount for your tire needs.

They fixed my flat (plug-up) for free after pulling nail out. Only bad thing is the wait, because there were alot of customers there.

Great customer service.Let me list the things I love about this business.1. Contactless check in, You can scan the QR code to check in and just stay in your car until its your turn for service.2. In my case having tire valve stems replaced the directed me to drive in to the correct bay and let me remain in my car while the work was completed.3. They brought the invoice to my car and offered to take payment there so I could stay in the car.4. Existing customer service, Since I had previously purchased tires there when I needed to have 3 tire valve stems replaced they charged me a grand total of 3 bucks and change to remove 3 tires from the car, Replace the valve stems and remount the tires. I had taken the forth tire to a different place as I was on the other side of town and needed to get it fixed before I could drive the car and they were a total rip off.I went back to Discount tire today to get a tire repaired and am 100% satisfied. Jack the sales guy went out to my car and got the tire out of the back and explained that since they were pretty busy it would be a while before it was fixed. Within a couple of hours I got a text to come pick up my tire, The charge? Free since I bought a couple of tires from them a few years ago. The next time I buy tires I will give these guys the first shot and even if they charge a little more than the next guy they are getting my business.

I wanted to share my gratitude with the people working at this location. I was there 1 week ago to have a tire fixed with a slow leak. I pulled in my vehicle in the garage and asked the man if i should leave my keys inside my vehicle. Once I got notified my car was ready, we all realized that my keys were locked inside the car. I am pretty certain I didnt lock my car and the workers were adamant they do not go in the car once I step out. Either way, everyone was very helpful and patient with the situation. Couple of hours later, I managed to get a locksmith out to unlock my car. The entire time the man at the desk was very pleasant with me and was working with me and didnt make me feel rushed or stressed about what happened.

Updated: 2/3/21I came here for a rotation and regular servicing. Ive been coming here since 2011. When I came in I wasnt surprised in the slightest at the care I received. We have taken all of our cars to this location as well as the Highland and Portage store. We have received extra care each and every time we have come. I decided to call in today and make an appointment instead of just going in and wasting everyones time. I called and the wait was about 6 and a half minutes on the phone. Christian answered the phone and set me up with an appointment. I really didnt want to bother them, so i called back and Kevin F. Informed me it was imperative to have my tires rotated every 5-6k miles along with my oil changes. I hate waiting ont he phone, But it was worth it. When I got to the location I was checked in and told to wait in the car until my appointment time, Which I was perfectly fine with. My appointment was for 12:30, I was guided into the 2nd bay at 12:54pm. They walked me to the front to wait while the car was being serviced. Everyone was extremely nice and professional. The chairs were placed at least 6 foot apart. They made sure to follow the guidelines for COVID. I felt very safe. While sitting in the showroom waiting for my car,, I overheard several people being told the wait would be 3 hours. I was out of the store by 1:10pm. So my advice to anyone coming would be to download the Discount Tire app and make an appointment. These guys are the best. I would still recommend.I started going to these guys 7 years ago. Not only are they affordable, but they are the most professional “tire shop” not just in the area, but in the nation.Any time I needed to find a specific tire or rim, I always knew I could count on them to get it or find one better. They are very precise with their instructions and explanations.I have had Cadillac, Nissan, Jeep, Lincoln, VW, Chevy, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, and now an INFINITI.I’ve been there and seen a Lamborghini waiting with everyone else. I guess what I’m trying to say is they don’t care if you have a super expensive car or a little beater, everyone gets treated with dignity and respect.I’ve been to some that were filthy and don’t even have a public restroom. Here they off tea, coffee, water, super clean restrooms, a play area for the kids and FREE WIFI!!! I am not sure if they all do, but this one does. I love this place and will continue to be a customer. Because they treat me right! I would totally recommend!

The service I received was good service. However, the individuals that changed my tires placed my life and others life at risk. I have a 4 wheel drive and instead of them rotating the new tires to the back they put them in the front . My car fishtailed multiple times nearly getting hit by a semi truck. I tried to call to voice my dissatisfaction however no one picked up the phone so I decided to leave a review instead since no one was available to speak to. I would not recommend this location to anyone if they care about their safety. Short cuts can cost someone their life FYI.

Very disappointed, promised tires for my travel trailer first thing in the morning, took trailer there and no tires. Went to Merrillville store myself and picked up the tires will try tomorrow to have them put on.

They patched up my flat and when it didnt go right I took it back 2 days later and got a new tire at their cost. All the guys at the desk are knowledgeable and professional.

Horrible experience had to wait an hour just to see if the tire I needed was in stock. I already looked online and knew there were 20 on stock and just wanted to pay and leave. You guys need a better system.

I understand covid has taken a toll on everyone, extra time and all but this poor older lady was told by 3:30 at 1:30 and shes still waiting car not even in the shop dont promise a Time and dont come through for her its unexcectable and bad service, the Highland shop is way more organized than Merrillville for customer service

We were on our way to a camping trip wih our dog and had a blow out on our camper. We were able to get the spare tire on but didnt trust to continue on without at least anoher spare. We made it to the Merrilleville store amd I waited in the truck with the dog as my husband went in. We waited and waited. Finally, my husband came out frustrated that the person at the counter seemed to be having a personal conversation, anwered a phone call, then continued with the personal conversation while he stood there. He tried to interupt to ask if they even had a replacement in stock, realizing we were sitting outside, but was told to wait. we left.We have gotten dozen of tires from discount tires before, which is why we went there first. We dont believe the company stinks but after being in retail for decades, you dont ignore customers. Acknowledge the customers and take care of them. You dont tell customers who ask about inventory that if they cant continue to wait, they should go elsewhere because they will. We did. We highly recommend Bella Tires. They took great care of us and got us back on the road heading to our camping trip. Got 4 new tires! Thank you discount for making us go to Bella!

I always have a great experience when I come here. I’ve visited this store multiple times for tire checks, repairs, and purchasing of tires. The wait time can be a bit lengthy, but it makes sense because they do such a wonderful job on the repairs! Plus, their customer service is excellent. A few times they even patched up a hole in my tire for free! You can’t get any better than that! I recommend making an appointment and going there for any of your tire repair needs.

They over-tightened the wheel locks on my car. I had to pay the dealership $500 to get them off. The dealer said they shouldnt be torqued at all, yet someone put them on with too much torque and it broke the wheel lock key

This review is long overdue. Once again, I received fantastic service today. I came in on a busy Friday to get a slow leak fixed, and the service manager recommended I come back first thing on Saturday morning and be among the first when the doors opened. I walked in, and they grabbed the keys and immediately drove my Jeep onto the lift so the technician could get started. They are remarkably efficient, friendly and honest. I have been a Discount Tire customer for 10 plus years, and a customer at this shop since 2017. I have received fantastic service at this store in particular every time I come in

Should not still be waiting an hour after your scheduled appointment to even get my vehicle in the building. This is the second time it happened, and I just left. Took it to another tire shop and was in an out in 15 minutes and gladly paid for it, even though rotations are part of the deal of purchasing the tires from Discount. Will not be back to this location.

Very timely and exact in promise time

Got to merrillville for a walkin and the guy told me 1 hour waited for 2 hours before they even pulled my car in. And they wanted me to wait in my car the whole time. Its too cold!!! And Im not wasting gas for two hours sitting there. When i finally complained about the time, he went and talked to the guy doing the tires about getting my car in next and i could see them shaking their heads. Probably talking about their damn customers.

I work here so i cant be biased. i can easily say that from the time Ive worked here discount tire prides themselves in, quality, satisfaction and ensuring that out work is done right in a timely manner. they train all if their new employees in a tedious and structured manner and make sure that they execute exactly what they where trained to do. its safe to say that discount tire thinks about its costumers first and foremost

This reviewis a long time coming. Its been 2 years since I bought my tires. Besides wear, my wheels were excessively load. Despite new tires I continued to have noise. I returned to Discount Tire & the salesperson was like okay well put new tires on. I had to stop him & ask if hed take a short ride & see what he thinks. Turns out it was my wheel bearings. It was this unquestionable act that had me come back for tires for my wifes car despite their better prices I checked on. Even my second visit was accommodating. They make it hard to go anywhere else

They need to put in their hiring description that they dont hire people who have tattoos on their neck so job seekers dont waste their time and gas going there to have a interview....discrimination if you ask me I used to be a cable technician and little 80 year old wemon never even had a problem with my tattoos and most of them requested me to come back all the time for their service calls because they said that I was one of the nicest and most polite gentlemen they have ever met..

I wish I could give 5 stars, I really do. Ive purchased two sets of wheels and 3 sets of tires from this Discount Tire location. The staff is super friendly and helpful. If I was reviewing only them, theyd all get 5 stars. They run the place efficiently, they are energetic, they are eager to help, and they are knowledgeable.However, they somehow manage to screw up the balancing on my tires.First, it happened on my Cruze with a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 tires. Id get an intermittent highway vibration. As a car enthusiast that has written countless tutorials and tech articles for automotive communities, I knew it was the tire balancing, and the fact only ONE wheel had three large wheel weights on the outside was a dead giveaway. Took the car back to Discount Tire and had them re-balance the tires. Then I went on a drive up to Wisconsin. It was so bad on the highway I had to pull over and find some place to look at them. I took the car to a Firestone complete auto care, and they found a wheel weight freely bouncing around INSIDE one of the front tires. Perfectly smooth after that.I thought it was just a fluke, but then I had a set of Michelin X-Ice tires put on my Honda Odyssey and I had vibration on the highway at 65mph and up. Youd see paper bags inside shaking and youd see your jeans shaking. If you let go of the wheel youd see it vibrating ever so slightly. It was slight, but it was very repetitive; not caused by the road as it would happen on perfectly smooth, newly paved highway as well. Took it back to Discount Tire and had them re-balance the tires. It didnt get any better. Took it to Firestone Complete Auto Care in Southlake Mall, had them balance the wheels again (paid $71 for it), and the vibration was gone.This isnt the kind of thing you can get wrong, guys. These kinds of vibrations cause premature wear on all suspension components. Shocks, struts, mounts, control arm bushings, tie rods, and ball joints. All of these will be affected long-term by this kind of vibration.I checked with the guys at Firestone and asked what they use to balance the tires since they managed to find and fix the issue twice. They said they use a Hunter Roadforce balance machine. Figures; Discount Tire is using some primitive machine that just tacks weights on the outside of the tire.If I do find a fantastic deal at Discount Tire in the future, I wont be getting the tires balanced there; Ill buy them, take them to Firestone, and have Firestone do the balancing for me.If anyone from Discount Tire is reading this, get your act together and upgrade to a proper tire balancing machine. The hassle and expense of having to re-balance my tires multiple times on my cars has really soured my experience and impression of your company.

I would have given they 5 stars, except today was worse than a doctors office. My appointment was at 12:15pm, they finally got me in around 2:40. Maybe they should not make appointments, just first come, first served.

I went in for a flat on my truck, they said its appointment only. No big deal, I made an appointment and came back later where I stayed in the parking lot, for 45 min after my appointment time. A few cars that got there after me, had their cars serviced before me as well. I ended up leaving and fixing it myself. Shame, Ive always said they were fast and did good work.

Checked air in tires before trip

Yesterday morning I stop by to get some air for my front driver tire, I told the young man I needed air just for that tire. But he went to the back passenger tire first and I didn’t understand why until later on that afternoon. He took the valve cap off the rear and kept the one that needed air. Valve caps only $3 you didn’t have to take mines😡

Get the extended warranty on the tires. Its a lifesaver
